I'm a day late, but I'd like to join. I think I'll aim for 30 miles in November. Hopefully this will motivate me to get my butt out of bed earlier and walk before work. Lord knows I don't want to exercise when I get home!

I also have a timex and I thought at first it read high. But, I've been reassured it's accurate if you enter in height, weight, and gender. Plus, now that I've used it a few months, it's consistent. And, after I lost 10lbs and updated my weight, it went down in cals burned.

Low impact aerobics is what I did before a HRM. I was very surprised to find out that I burn quite a few more calories than the averages on here.

I'm in the same boat! My little girl is turing 1 this coming Monday. I really need a swift kick in the a&$ to get motivated to lose another 20 lbs at least.

Thanks for the replies! It does have a chest strap, and it said it was a woman's watch, so it never asked for gender. I'll have to see if I get the same burn day after day.

For me, the low impact aerobics and 4 mph walk burn the same amount of calories. You should be good with either one.
