Exactly! He achieved the end goal that most here are striving for. He may not have cut his risk of lung cancer yet but maybe diabetes at the very least. I say kudos to that!

I do, yes however you should probably couple that with the fact that I sit on my butt pretty much 22 hours a day most days. I think that qualifies me as "relatively inactive."

It's only fair to include your fiances fitness regimen as well so the OP knows what kind of output is required to maintain that caloric intake.

Actually no, laxatives came much later when she was struggling to get the weight back off. My mom had a eating disorder that started with 1000 calories a day and the idea that you have to strave to lose weight. When that plateaued, she went to 800 then 700. That is when she lost her hair. When the weight came back, she did…
She also did laxatives, maybe that is an option for you. Of course now, she has hair and fat and she has severe IBS and COPD from the smoking. But every body is different.
So it's not necessarily her weight, rather it was being thin by smoking and taking laxatives. There's the "no no" take away.

Hair loss is known to happen to healthy people with age too. Just sayin....

Almost every day and sometimes more. I can't even say I know of anyone who has a bigger sweet tooth than I do. I do try my very best to keep it in check and balance my sugar with other healthy foods and vitamins. I don't always succeed.

From Livestrong Determine your activity level and your current weight. A moderately active man should multiply his weight by 15 to determine the minimum amount of calories he needs each day. For example, a moderately active male who weighs 150 pounds should consume a minimum of 2,250 calories to meet his body's energy…

There is a potential enemy lurking behind just about every food. When applied to the skin, broccoli can cause an allergic rash in hypersensitive people.

There all kinds of things to lift around the house and even outside. Time to get creative! Although the cheapest and easiest thing to lift and push is your own body weight. :)

or you could just try adding in some challenging weight training exercises for a month or so, see how it goes, and then decide?

Keeping fit and positive on 1200-1300 a day! Thanks for all your "insight" and the 10 extra pounds.

I had the same problem when I listened to people on MFP about 1200 + exercise being in starvation mode and I needed to eat more. I gained a steady 3-5lbs a month for 3 months and my pants fit tighter. Now I am back to 1200 a day, oatmeal, huge grilled chicken salads, P90X, and even a cupcake per day and am getting back to…

Absolutely right on the money! Dropping weight doesn't gurantee a bikini body. It just makes you smaller. Eating right and exercise is where you get that beach body. I'm a huge fan of P90X, deliciously huge grilled chicken salads, and oatmeal to achieve that look.

My goal is a gallon a day. I find it really helps keep my snacking in check (and my skin seems to like it too). I alternate between plain water and flavoring it with MIO or Crystal Light packs. Can't go wrong with water! :drinker:

Well written and entertaining!! Don't be so hard on yourself either. With someone as miserable as that, you could have been 100 lbs and still irritated her with your presence. The nerve of some people....

I definitely stay more closely on track when I pre-log my food a day in advance. Sometimes I stray and have to modify my diary as the day goes along but it does help!

For me....I am weary of cheat days because I sabatoge myself every week! This week, I've been at 1200 claories of clean eating with moderate to heavy exercise and today my co-worker brings in lemon cake and they want to go to 5 Guys for lunch and then I'll want wine because its Friday night and before I know it.....I have…
