I thought gyms without child care were weird. ;-) No restroom? Definitely odd, I can't imagine.

Nice! And it looks like you aren't far behind! :)

My doc recommended Miralax.

Absolutely awesome! Congrats!

brekkie nom nom Particularly if used together with an accompanying photo.

I use it. The idea of paying money if I don't hit the gym has definitely gotten my butt there on some days when I could have just as easily went home and vegged out. I love it!

Changes like these have to happen from the outside in. Loving yourself, confidence, self worth - THOSE are what's worth it. Getting to a healthy weight is just a great side effect.

Lip gloss. Oh well, I'll go out looking cute. ;-)

I believe what he's trying to say is that you have to work from the outside in. I experienced something very similar. I had reached my goal weight and was elated for about a month. And then it was kind of like "now what"? I had worked so hard to get to that "number" that once I got there, there was no where else to go. I…

True story!

Ugh, nails on a chalk board. I try really hard not to be that way, but seriously, some of these make me cringe!

Hubby brought me Boston Market. Rotisserie chicken (no skin), dill potatoes, and mixed veggies. Oh, and of course I had the corn bread. YUM!

bwaaa hhaaaa! THAT was hilarious! I'm not a fan of the show at all. As others have said it , unfortunately, does not teach the contestants long term sustainable changes. Isn't that what we all need? Besides, watching the Biggest Loser makes me hungry for some reason. ;-)

You look amazing and I'm sure you feel fantastic! Good for you. What an inspiration.

I worded my original post wrong. My BMR is 1367, TDEE is 1879, and calorie goal with a 10% weight loss (calculating 1-3 light workouts per week) is 1691. I will increase the activity level once I get my lazy booty back to working out so it will reflect accurately. I LOVE that you guys are so supportive. Reading through…

Thanks for the tips, guys! Some day....it WILL happen. I WILL be a morning person. Just need to crawl my tired, grumpy butt out of bed and DO IT!. Thank you. :)

If you're already questioning how you feel about his goals now, you sure as heck won't like his lack of goals 10 years from now. I've been married for 12 years and I can tell you that the less goals you have in common, the harder it is. And money is one of the top reasons for divorce.

There are virtual trainers on line if you would be comfortable doing something like that. I'm a certified personal trainer and I train clients "virtually" (emails, texts, and phone calls). I'm not advertising for myself at all, but it might be something worth looking into for you. You could google virtual trainers and I'm…

Last year I just threw some stuff together that ended up being fantastic. Mixed greens, honey crisp apple, granny smith apple, cucumber, dried cranberries, feta cheese, and candied pecans.

The answer is yes, you should definitely alternate. It is your body's job to adapt to what you are putting it through. The first time you run one mile, your body says, "what the crap?". But it makes adjustments in case you do that again. Each time you run, your body makes those small changes so it's easier each time you do…

Congrats! You look amazing.

1200 is a generic number. Sounds like your PT was too lazy to look into your personal needs and threw out that arbitrary number. (No offense, of course.) This site seems to be on the lower end of recommendations I've seen, but is also one of the only ones that calculates with diet only and adds back in the calories for…

Hey, there! I'm the same way. I have mostly used it for logging my food to keep myself on track, but I think it's high time to start supporting peeps too! Side note, I'm from St Lous. GO RAMS!

I believe incorporating activity in your every day life is a great way to make fitness just a normal thing for you. It becomes a habit. A good one. :)

First of all, I don't think you're supposed to stop taking those kinds of meds cold turkey. You may want to talk to your doc about that. Second, tell Mr. Fiance you heard your sex drive increases when you lose weight. Maybe he'll start craving veggie trays instead of junk. ;-) Hang in there. You've got this. Vacation can…

bump....I'm always interested in peoples' response to this topic.

Isn't Magnum also the name of a condom? ewww!

LOVE it! Great job!

I did the C25K about 4 years ago. I was 30 pounds heavier. I was a complete couch potato, had never done any kind of sports or worked out much prior to that. Between the running and starting portion control, I lost the 30 pounds in 3 months. That pushed me into trying other things. I ran some 5ks, started lifting weights,…

womenshealthmag.com has some great workout ideas under their fitness tab. I would recommend doing exercises that incorporate more than one body part at a time as you get started. For example, doing squats and shoulder raises. This reduces the amount of time you need to work out and you can fit in three days per week.
