  • I don't know... was kind of wondering that myself! I've never tried Greek yogurt, it always seems to be so much more expensive...

  • Wow, you sound busy!! I can see why you are stressed! That honey calorie count is wrong - it's 60 cals in a Tbsp., 20 in a teaspoon. I don't know why sugar would have 5 less cals per tsp, but the fact that it is extremely processed is not worth the 5 cals you'd save. My tip is to stay away from calories you drink - like…

  • If you strain your yogurt, you'll lose the nutrients that are in the whey (the watery part), including most of the friendly bacteria that make yogurt so great.

  • If you make quinoa and it's crunchy, it's probably undercooked. It's not as soft as rice and has a little spring to it, but I wouldn't call it crunchy. I add it to every broth soup I make - adds a great texture, kind of like bulgar wheat. I also get mine in bulk in the natural foods section of supermarkets or at a co-op,…
  • I almost spared you this information, but then decided to share: there IS such a thing... Young's Double Chocolate Stout is one. I think there are other makers, too.
  • I'm with you that it's fascinating to read what people ate back in the day! Especially since you know it was all made from scratch. Keep 'em coming! Now that Lysol ad... yuck! I can't believe people thought that was a good idea.
  • Coconut or just the coconut milk will give you some fat.
  • Heh... I sometimes get upset when my guy wants to share my food. Hadn't really thought about why, but I think you hit the nail on the head. Food has too often been solace for me, not a sunset. p.s. I love the way you write, too!
  • I've never heard of excess skin being a health risk. Can you say more about this?
  • Take 8 miles divided by however long it took you - i.e. if it was 2 hours, you'd take 8/2=4 mph, then look up "walking - 4 mph" under the exercise diary.
  • Don't lie to or skip out on your food log! No matter how bad you cheat, it's important to see the damage. As well as the progress on days that go well. Good luck! :flowerforyou:
  • Wow, really nice points. You're an inspiration to me. :flowerforyou:
  • Wow, two weeks! You are doing AWESOME!!! What would you say has made the difference for you? Sometimes I think we just have to grow to hate out bad habits/addictions enough to where we can't stand to do them anymore. I'm still trying to figure out what the catalyst will be for me. :ohwell: Anyway, congrats to you!!…
  • do people on Biggest Loser actually lose 15-20 lbs a week? I've never watched that show. That sounds like a ridiculously unhealthy amount of water weight...
  • Write key points on a 3x5" notecard and keep it with you in your pocket or purse! It might sound silly, but decorate it all cute with stickers or colored pencils so that it's easier to remember because then you can _picture_ it in your mind. I just started doing this and it really helps!
  • Wasa Fiber Crispbread - 35 cals per cracker, and the crackers are about 2 1/2" wide x 5" long. I think Wasa has another cracker (close to the same size) that is only 25 cals - it's like the low calorie version or something.
  • I recently started wearing professional clothes for my job, and some of my shoes are high heels. I try to minimize the time I spend in heels, and mostly the ones I do have are fairly comfortable and not too high. I've been noticing my feet feel sore sometimes when I'm running, and I know it's from the heels. Sometimes I…
  • Yeah, I love yogurt and oatmeal! That's my most frequent breakfast item.
  • Wow, interesting! I thought it was to drop extra weight so as to run faster. I like your answer better, it makes more sense. If it was only to help you run faster with a lighter load, how could anyone prove that? Is that also why you sometimes feel like you're going to throw up when you get really nervous? And feel like…
  • Yay, I made it through day 4!! I reaaaalllllllly wanted a beer after spending 1+ hours cleaning cat pee smell out of the basement  , but that would put me over my cals, probably trigger a binge, and make me feel bad later. So I'm writing in here instead - "wasting time" on the internet is my reward (instead of food)…
  • Hi everyone, hope you're all doing well!:flowerforyou: I had to check out of this thread for awhile as it was making me feel worse that I couldn't get past day one. Several days ago I realized I've gained 7 lbs over the past month or two, and I hit my threshold of tolerance for this behavior. I cannot believe that I have…
  • We always buy half of them green and half of them yellow so that the green ones are ready for later in the week.

  • I'm not sure about this, but I think that once it's to your intestines, anything that you put in your stomach is too far behind to catch up. At least that has been my experience. I like Beano for prevention. These are also supposed to help: fennel seed anise chamomile coriander caraway I think you take them before/during…
  • Same here. Posting so I can follow up later.

  • Drink lots of water! I've read in many places that people often mistake thirst for hunger. Also, pay attention to how your stomach feels after you eat a decent-sized meal versus how it feels in the morning when you wake up and it's empty. See if you can assign a number on a scale of 1 to 5 for how hungry/full you are and…
  • I hand wash mine in the sink and lay them flat to dry. It only takes about 30 minutes every couple weeks, and it really makes a difference in keeping their shape.
  • Wow, that really sucks!! I'm sorry that happened to you. I hope everything gets resolved without too much damage. Exercise really is healing, isn't it? Hope you feel better. :flowerforyou:
  • mlillie - That must have been really hard to be there for a client's death... I think I would be reaching for a bag of chips, too. It's good you had co-workers around to talk about it with. Great job turning a potential binge into a healthful meal and ! Thanks for sharing about bulimia. Yeah, I do journal sometimes,…
  •
  • Things are not going well for me. I do have to give myself credit for making it through yesterday (another day 1), but today is getting to be ridiculous. I keep eating because I can't seem to prioritize what I need to be doing today, or it's unpleasant and I don't want to do it (difficult homework:frown: ). This is my 5th…
