25/25/50 fat/carb/protein....i am firm beleiver in protein...if you are doing any type of working out daily and hard. I would advise anyone to atleast get their body weight in grams a day. esp for muscle building.

i ran this morning and fueled with powerbar gummies at mile 4 and 1/3 clif bar at mile 9 . I run with water so I can hydrate along the way. temp has a lot to do with it. i live in the humid south, so water is a huge factor in my runs.

species brand makes a protein powder that is calorie free/carb free and 25 grams of protein a scoop. look it up...it is a green and black container, usually runs about 35 bucks

my 9 yr old plays soccer with 12 yr olds...and he also does all my 5k races with me... he loves the accomplishment of finishing a race. so my advise is to sign up for a local fun run with your child, usually they are only 1 mile or so. and let that be a mini goal for you guys to finish together and then move up to a 5k…
