  • Scarsdale Diet, dry toast and grapefruit for breakfast when you are in 8th grade really sucks. I'd love to be that 110lbs again. Not really sure why my mom thought I was fat then, I'm only 5'3".
  • If you are 5'3" and 110 lbs you are the right weight. If you have concerns about the shape of your body, that would be achieved through exercise. Perhaps you could speak with a personal fitness trainer to discuss your options.
  • Hey Mrs. Pong: My husband can have terrible stomach issues and he narrowed it down to soy intolerance. He's not allergic, but it causes him the worst bloating/pain/diarrhea you can imagine. if you can't figure it out, check your labels and take out any soybean oil, soy flour, soy protein, etc and you might see a…
  • 1. no one here is a doctor so we can only give you suggestions. 2. Food sensitivities can be triggers. My husband has soy that causes him trouble. 3. have you tried a chiropractor or osteopath? 4. check your ergonomics at your workplace & home. 5. check your thyroid. I had a wicked headache until I got that sorted. 6. TMJ…
  • I'm with you on that! - and I can't stand Stevia either its so nasty. The only one can stand is Xyla (Xylitol). It tastes like nothing, just adds sweetness not bitter its all natural - plant based sugar replacement. Usually found in the diabetic section of the store. If you're in Canada, you might find it at Sobey's, if…
  • you know what the answer will be. 1. Go take a pregnancy test. 2. If you starve yourself your period by stop 3. Many many different things can affect your cycle, start with #1, if its negative, then go see your doctor.
  • My husband has very similar symptoms and we figured out that he has an intolerance to soy. Soybean oil and Soybean Flours and Soy Protein all cause him incredible pain and symptoms. If you are having gut issues and can't pinpoint what's causing it, I would consider eliminating soy for one week, it may help you. it is a…

  • I really love those pureed soups that come in a tetrapak, like Knorr or Campbells Gardennay. They don't have a ton of calories, but are very filling and come in lots of flavours so you can mix it up a bit. I add my own spice like Rooster Sauce or Curry depending on the soup.
  • yes. I do and it does work. It requires focus and commitment, but it does work. its not a forever kind of thing, but it gets you going in the right direction and thinking about your food. its good for those of us who struggle to lose every single pound, (like me). Basically it comes down to to this. No Carbs (obviously not…
  • I find that I feel bloated if I eat carbs. As soon as I eat bread/potatoes/rice/starchy foods I get bloated. If I don't and just stick to meat and veg I feel way better.
  • This entire website is full of people using portion control and exercise to lose weight. But you can't just eat junk food and expect to be healthy. Eat the foods you like, and try to add one new thing a week.
  • Each person is different. If I drink I retain water like crazy, and its too much sugar for me. As soon as I cut out the booze I can lose weight, if I don't it sticks like glue. If you feel like you are stalling, try one week without it and see how it goes.
  • I know how you feel. I have really broad shoulders for a chick too. What you will notice is that as the weight comes off, your shoulders won't seem so big. Do lots of arm/upper body work to help tone everything. You will still have broad shoulders but the fat that's sitting on top of them will be gone.
  • Every kid is with ADHD is different. So take all of the information people are sharing and pick out the things that will work for you. This is my experience with my kid and what's helped, and what doesn't. Diet: Yes. Added colours and preservatives affect him. When he was about 5 and at soccer, he had (without me knowing)…
  • I can't stand the taste of Stevia, and I find that Xylitol has no taste.
  • Yep, always use the scale and measuring cups.
  • Raisin Bran?
  • Reese Peanut Butter cups. any size all sizes - I can eat so many of them, and never get tired of them. mmmmm peanut butter and chocolate
  • Easy and quick. take 3 slices of deli turkey slices, put them in the frying pan. no oil needed. let them cook a bit and their own oil greases the pan. take 1 or 2 eggs scrambled, add some mushrooms and a handful of baby spinach. put the mushrooms and spinach on top of the turkey, then pour the eggs over top. cover. once…
  • While I agree that hating the carbs isnt' the answer, maybe reducing the carbs you are eating as you begin your program isn't a bad idea. Some people eat a bagel for breakfast and pasta for lunch with bread and meat and rice for dinner. That's a lot of carbs for some people. Maybe its a good idea to pay attention to the…
  • 3 slices of deli turkey - put in frying pan. no oil necessary, the meat sweats out enough on its own. 1 egg scrambled - once the turkey gets warmed up, take a handful of baby spinach and one large mushroom. put the scrambled egg on top of the turkey and then put the lid on. once the egg sets a bit fold over the turkey like…
  • My problem isn't that I don't want to log is that I haven't a clue what to put down. Mostly when we get together with friends we'll have wine (I can count that), but we'll have nuts and cheese and crackers and salamis and olives and all that kind of good nibbly things. By the time we're done I haven't the foggiest idea…
  • Timing doesn't really matter, except for the fact that in the evening if you start munching, it seems to be harder for me to stop munching. So if I give myself an arbitrary cut off, then it deters the evening snacking. Also makes me more tempted to have a glass of wine, which then sets the whole munching thing in motion.
  • Good Heavens! Every non-processed cheese is healthier than Kraft Singles.
  • Sounds crazy but "Skinny B" Cereal from Holy Crap Cereal company. It the only one that seems healthy without making it myself.
  • Jasmine Blueberry Sorbet (Millcroft Inn, Caledon), Buttered Almond Cake (Knotty Pine, Cambridge) Bison Rib Steak (also at the Millcroft) there are too many yummy things in this world, that's my problem!
  • Try a 1/2 cup of All Bran Buds in Cereal every morning. That usually does the trick. Or Red River Cereal....breakfast of regular champions.
  • I personally enjoy body wraps of all kinds. I don't know if they "lose inches" like they claim, but they feel great and the last time I lost weight - I treated myself to a wrap after I lost 20 pounds. My skin felt great. I think it depends on your skin and body and your own personal chemistry, but I enjoy wraps and perhaps…
