Can you make your shoulders less broad?

That's kind of a bad way to put that question but I'm just wondering. I have really large shoulders for a girl and I'm not sure if its because I have a lot of arm fat or just genetics (and it's certainly not because of my boobs), but is there any certain exercises that could help out with that?

No, not too much you can do - body type is genetic.
I'm a pear, while I can reduce the "thunder thighs" .... at my thinnest they are still pretty big proportionately.
Just lose the weight & do the best you can. Women can't really bulk up, so don't worry about exercise making them larger. Do normal strength training, focusing on one area won't have the effect you're looking for.0 -

Yes and no - if the breadth is truly due to fat and not your skeletal/muscular structure then you can slim down enough to get rid of it. If that's the case, though, it will likely be the last fat you lose, since it seems to be where your body preferentially stores fat, so it would take a lot of work.
I think it's more likely that your shoulders are due to bone and muscle structure, though.0 -
I know how you feel. I have really broad shoulders for a chick too. What you will notice is that as the weight comes off, your shoulders won't seem so big. Do lots of arm/upper body work to help tone everything. You will still have broad shoulders but the fat that's sitting on top of them will be gone.0

You could try and make your waist bigger to even it out0

That to me is an awesome problem. Heck, in the old days women used to use shoulder pads in their jackets and shirts because it was so desirable.
I'd rather have nice broad shoulders than the slope shoulders I have.
Oh well. As you lose weight everything will change. I wouldn't worry about it.0 -
Man! I work hard to make mine wider (improves my overall aesthetic). Weight train to balance everything out, is my suggestion0
