I know if I don't do it first thing before work, I won't go to they gym--so easy to make excuses at the end of the day, when you're tired or have other responsibilities. I try not to think when my alarm goes off at 6, I just GO, but if I do wake up enough to think I remind myself that if I'm going to do it today it has to…

Cologne either makes my eyes itchy or makes me want to gag, so I am Team No Cologne. The problem is people love it or hate it, and I'd think you don't want to risk your interviewer being someone who hates it on the off chance it's someone who loves it.

bump for fabulosity. thanks everyone! also I am totally pro-IT band stretching. (I realize it wasn't, like, really up for a vote, but I'm voting yes anyway lol.)

why is there not a Guinness float in my life right at this moment share?

only one so far: a leafy design with "watch how I soar" above it if you can name that movie feel free to friend me :) the list of what I want is getting quite long, but right now I'm quite broke. :(

Everyone seems pretty quick to jump in and diagnose the OP with a pretty intense disease. It sounds like the OP made the decision to put his weight/health ahead of his booze, and a real alcoholic wouldn't be wired for that. Some groups of friends drink a lot and take great care in doing it, so I can see how it would have…

I don't remember why I decided to use Higdon instead of Galloway. I think all the days of cross-training made it seem like I'd get in better shape and be better able to handle the race, but maybe it's too much. hm okay I'll look into it thanks! I do think it'd be helpful to run a proper race before the half.

Thanks! I'm going to try for races at the right times but winter in New England probably doesn't lend to a lot of options. I'll look into it. And I'm going to try to find the balance between taking it easy and watching the knee vs. attempting to actually be able to (mostly) run the half. I just don't know what that balance…

hello! I'm a short-distance runner (and currently recovering from injury so not running at all) but I want to move towards long-distance and I'm running a half in February. (eek!)

I live on the route and I will be cheering and waving profusely. (Cleveland Circle! Wave back!) Boston's one of my long-term goals, but.... loooong term.

No. You're getting very close to slut-shaming here. No woman, no matter what she is wearing, is to blame for YOUR actions. I'm not saying a woman should be shocked when she's dressed "sexy" and a man hits on her, it's a thing that happens, I'm not trying to stop you. But you don't know why she's dressed that way and you do…

+1 for Bridezillas reference. I appreciate anyone aside from myself who admits in public to watching that show. (and I can totally picture that episode hahaha.)

network TV.

same lol and then there were all these fully appropriate responses and I was like

The only thing I really pay attention to is that I eat lateish, either dinner after 7pm or a snack after 8 or 9pm if dinner was early, because I don't like to eat before I run in the morning. And I make sure there's carbs/protein involved--not that I'm carb-loading for a 3-mile run, but I just eat dinner with the knowledge…

I haven't seen Grimm and Once Upon a Time (they came out right after I'd read 10 trades of Fables comics, so I was like lol guys I'm good on fairy tale updates) but YES BABYLON 5. Can we talk about what a badass Garibaldi is? I borrowed a couple of seasons of B5 from my boyfriend and never gave them back, so I guess I have…

Replace all her weights with pots and pans. When she complains that they're too light, tell her to put food in them. At this point her womanly instinct will kick in and she'll start cooking and your problem will be solved.

I can't decide which issue I want to address: the boobs or the actual question. I guess I'll just sit here blinking. Is there a smiley for that?

salad rice beans I can get enough salad fixings for a week's worth of lunches for about $20-25 at Trader Joe's (and I'll throw in a hard-boiled egg for protein, so I don't get hungry immediately after lol). Rice and beans are staple "cheap" foods and you can mix them up in soups or with veggies and stuff so it's not really…

OK! I'll report back! (The Weeping Angel avatar means you're trustworthy, right?)

Oh, yeah, what tufel said, if an MRI hasn't been done yet definitely start there! I assumed that had happened because that's the first thing they did to me both times, but if not get one done ASAP.

Yikes! My advice is to shop around PTs because frankly yours doesn't sound so great. Just walking on a treadmill is not, in my experience, a good PT plan--and I'm in my second round of knee PT for whatever that's worth as credential. My routine has included clamshells, side leg lifts, and a variety of other exercises that…

I am going to try reading them backwards this time to see if it enhances the experience.

I have enjoyed reading every single one of the fourteen pages of this thread. Thank you, all.

I saw her first (?) ad for WW the other day, and it really awkwardly only shot her from the neck up. Yeah, I don't think they're pleased, but I feel like maybe they should wait for people to actually lose the weight using WW before paying them $4mil.

Right?? me too! (I'm having sauteed peppers and onions as a fakey fajita, with leftover homemade spanish rice and beans)

HA! yeah I guess the topic title is a little harsh.

I was definitely over-enthusiastic when I started haha-- "psh, I'm fine, I'm totally going to run four days in a row--ok maybe not." But I am no longer new (or I'm new again, I guess) and I am actually working with a licensed medical person to ensure that I can run AND not blow out my knee, and it's just so...…

Thanks for posting, guys! Glad it's not just me.
