  • Howdy from the Alamo City! I went "mostly vegan" and haven't looked back. In fact, as of Oct 25th it was a year ago that I was almost 300lbs. In any event, you can do it by doing mostly veggies and keep it off! :) You can do this!!
  • I am a brand new vegan as well, and you can add me -- went from having BBQ in my veins last year to no meat, dairy, cheese ... nada. So far we haven't found any issues, so I'm wondering what "vegetarian junk food" is?
  • I have had a flux of ~4 lbs in a 24 hour span just due to random differences. Might be the scale thing as I was weighing every day too at that time.
  • I ain't even mad about this thread.
  • omnomnomnomnom
  • just under 6 months to hit where I am at today 109lbs. And too lazy to dig up and post pics.
  • Agreed re: Forks Over Knives. If you have Netflix you can watch it as well!
  • This. The fake stuff is not natural and we're not so great at making things that end up working well for us in the lab :)
  • Thanks! All over it!
  • Have been on IP for 3 months now, have lost a lot and feel great. Also the program has taught me what a sustainable goal for eating should look like, and that this diet (like all others) would fail if I just assumed I could go back to eating like I did which is how I got to where I was at. The lifestyle change - not this…
  • I'm on it too. Have been on it only since Oct 25th, and have lost this weight during that time. It works, and as long as there is a lifestyle change that goes along with this there won't be an issue - just can't go back to eating the way that got me all huge and I'll be fine.
  • I am just posting what I've read and researched. Since the internet has no creds, it's good to present all sides. The fact is that if you look at Cornell's research on this, as well as the Cleveland Clinic and the P rating of those clinical studies I would imagine it would be somewhat prematures to be accurately considered…
  • One thing I've noted was that Paleo era humans didn't really live that long. Probably due to meds/disease and the like, but can't help but wonder if their diet played into it a bit. Also Forks over Knives has some things to talk about re: meat proteins and cancer that might be of concern as well.
  • I guess I'll be the first to mention that although I really liked him in Firefly (great series), he is actually cooler for being Pvt James Ryan from Minnesota in Saving Private Ryan (probably one of the best movies ever IMHO).
  • As a reformed schmoo guy who was in his 20s one of 'those guys', I'll tell you that is how the game is played. The true test (that I would have failed) would be to ask him to answer his phone and talk for a couple of minutes so that you could wedge in there that you're the girlfriend. That would have blown the game, like…
  • Also depends on if you're going in enlisted or as an officer. Having been both, I'll tell you that if you're enlisted go Air Force, but if you're an officer I'd go Army. If you're going medical field you'll probably be in SA, and if you're Air Force you definitely will be. *Full disclosure, Regular Army here*
  • I agreed. Another one here :D
  • @MemphisKitten NFL Cheerleader yeah, my photo is going to cause woes I'm sure. :D
  • I am in the same boat as NCchar130; that is, I have days where I'm losing pretty much nada, or get a .5lb gain, and then the next day I'm down 3 lbs. It seems that we hit these ruts and that's where I'm at right now, and have been, for about a week. I've been here once before though, so I know that this cliff, once I get…
  • Howdy from Texas :) I'm Jeff, and got on the lifestyle change for good after leaving Active Duty. Found this place is very helpful and has helped. Anywho, time for bed, feel free to add. Good thread by the way. Did I mention it's 0115 here?
