Hello Plutoniansmash! Unfortunately there isn't a way to target body fat in a specific area of your body. That is the most popular fitness myth. As you lean out your body will empty the fat cells in that area. If you have every had a c-section your muscles might not tighten back up like they were before the surgery. Also,…

No worries Chicalatte.....you can always substitute the jump rope for a low impact exercise or something that will work for you.....Just be sure to pick something that will get your heart rate up....for example, you can start in the standing position and they lay completely flat on the floor (on your stomach)....once you…

Hello Chicalatte! I typically have my clients log our workouts under "circuit training" or "calisthenics (pushups, sit-ups), vigorous effort"....they will both give you the same number... Enjoy!

Hello! You have to remember that the scale does not tell the whole story. If you are losing inches then you are on the right track. Depending on your body type and your routine your may have added a few pounds of muscle. This can offset your weight loss but in the long run it is critical so that you can keep the weight…

Hello! Eating late at night won't cause you to gain weight. Weight gain comes from eating more calories than you burn. You can eat at anytime of the day or night. This is the second most popular fitness myth right behind spot reduction. If you are getting a sweet tooth then you can try brushing your teeth. In most cases…

wow! congrats on your 70lbs!

Companies are sneaky....some of them will take a fitness model's picture and then pay them to gain weight. Once they gain weight they take their picture again and then use them as before and after pictures. This way they don't have to doctor the pictures. All they need to do is switch the before with the after and the…

look for the bars geared for diabetics and people on low glycemic diets....pure protein, zero impact, atkins, eas carb control and detour (low sugar) are a few that will have very little sugar...most of the bars are made for body builders and not for people looking to lose weight so their ingredients are different than…

lol.....understandable....you can't go wrong with either one!

As a rule it is best to eat according to what you will be doing in the next few hours....If 1 meal is going to be the largest then it should be your pre-workout meal. That way you are not left with unused calories that end up getting stored as fat. Depending on what your caloric goal is you might not want to eat any…

I'm just speaking in general terms.....some people, because of their build will deadlift more than they squat and some will squat more than they deadlift. Form also plays a part. When squating, I am talking about going to a 90 degree bend. Some people squat until their butt touches the back of their legs. Most of the…

that could go either way....if you are doing RDLs (romanian deadlifts) then leg day....if not I like to do them on back day since they don't hit your legs very hard since you have to use a weight lighter than you can squat....

Some studies show that limited amounts of wine have health benefits. The problem is that this isn't a "weight loss" diet. Instead it is more focused on overall health. Eating for weight loss is a completely different animal. Fruit juice is a good example of this. Fruit juice is great when you are talking about general…

take a 1 can of chick peas, black beans, red beans and kidney beans, drain/rinse them and mix in chopped veggies (peppers, onions and more)....mix in imitation crab and your favorite seasonings......add a little olive oil and a splash of vinegar........this is a high fiber/protein dish that requires no cooking or heating…

I play kickball every Saturday....I went to meetup.com and found a meet up group that is all adults and loads of fun. We are all running around like we are kids again. This site also has groups that meet for business, books, running or anything else that you can think of. The group dynamic makes everything more fun and…

I would start with a liquid breakfast first until your body can adjust to something solid. Low-fat or skim milk and protein shakes are great ideas. Your body needs the calories and nutrients....it doesn't care if they are solids or liquids. Have a good one!

Hello! Your day starts when you wake up and ends when you go to sleep. This starts all over the next day. Eating late won't hurt as long as your are staying within your caloric goal and you are foods are of good quality. Enjoy!

Yup! Anytime.....those people at GNC get paid more if they sell so you have to be careful. If you have one, go to vitamin shoppe they are much cheaper and their sales people don't get paid more if they sell you some random product.... Hey, if you are at a plateau then switching up your routine for a few weeks will provide…

lol...maybe he/she just wanted military precision!

1. Arms up, legs apart. 2. Arms down, legs together. This counts as 1 jumping jack but there are several ways of counting each exercise. In most cases this is how they will be counted. The military is getting you ready for war so they count 3 or 4 as 1 to make it harder.
