My calories per day is set at 1500. Some days I eat as close to it as possible, other days I eat 1300 and am satified and other days I can eat 1600-1700 calories. So based on the calorie confusion, will my body not settle as easily to the set 1500. Therefore, I can continue to trick it on a weekly bases. Just asking too????

You may have built a little muscle and burned a little fat and they offset each other. It also may not have been enough time for your body to adjust, you may be retaining water (for various reasons). I would continue the same for the next week and see what happens. Also, if you are working out 5-6 times a week, 1300…

Definitely deal with the kids and their parents. If the parents aren't aware that their kid(s) is stealing, it is best to deal with it now before it escalates. Good luck.

After my workout, I stretch for about 5-10 mins, then right in the shower. I usually have a warm shower and my body has already started to cool down with the stretching. I have never heard about waiting to have a shower. I know I can't wait to get out of the sweaty, smelly clothes as soon as possible and wash off the…

Congratulation on the loss. Confused on your numbers. If you lost 60 pounds, how did you go from 205 to 105. You put the wrong number down, but which one?

I have read that doing the same thing over and over, your body becomes adjusted to it. Try something different - play around with your calories (ex. if you typically eat 1800 calories a day, try 2000 one day and then 1600 the next and trick your body). The same with exercise - do less one time and more the next. This might…

I have recently lost 15 pounds and there is a big difference in my face. (only 40 pounds to lose) They first thing people say is "I can see it in your face", although I want them to say "I can see it in your a**" . Oh well, there is a big difference in your face pics. Well done!

When I read "Skinny wraps" - didn't know if you meant wraps for your body of food wraps that make you skinny. Seriously though, never tried them but years ago when I was in my 20s, we use to try saran wrap around our mid-section. You would sweat under the saran wrap but all it was really doing was getting rid of water. If…

I was very concerned when I read your post. First - I don't have an eating disorder (per se - weight issue more because of lack of exercise over the years) so I don't know how you feel. But secondly and more important - do you see a doctor or counsellor for your disorder. I hope so because you will harm your body if you…

Wow - a big difference - you should be proud of yourself as everyone on here, knows it's not an easy process. You have to want it bad enough to make the change. Great job !!!!!!!

I was told last week by my nephew who is really into nutrition, that the calories on packages don't include fibre calories. When asked why, he said 2 things: 1. Not digestible 2. You burn the same number calories eating fiber as it has, therefore they zero each other out. Never heard of this before, not sure is he's right.…

I have the occasional higher caloric meal - but I wouldn't call it cheating (that makes it sound illegal). I do sometimes go over my calories on a given day by a couple hundred calories (100-200) but I figure I am still doing much better than I was 3 months ago. My daily calories are suppose to be 1500. Every weekend…

I don't think so but you shouldn't weigh yourself every day - usually once a week is best. If you did well all week and stayed within your goal, you will still lose.
-
Wow - what a change - you are now GQ material. Good job!
-
Great job! Do you have a pic of before and after? For some reason, it makes others appreciate more the work you have put into being healthy. Well done!

Munching is a really hard thing to overcome. I try to leave a few calories throughout the day so I can have a snack later in the night, if I need to. Water is the only thing that has no calories that I am aware of.

My rings have gotten loser too. I remove my rings every night and last summer I had to wash my hands with soap and water and take the rings off with the soapy water still on my hands because by the end of the day, my fingers were slightly swelled from heat and water retention (oh ya, and the extra weight) . Since I have…

Wow, what a difference. I had to keep comparing the photos to believe it was actually you in the before and after. Your face has changed incredibly. Way to go!

For anything to be successful, you need the right mind set. Easier said than done but I agree if you really want something badly, you fight for it. Life is not always easy. Great post. Thanks P.S. I looked at your profile and I love the baby pictures. She is sooooo sweet. Congratulations.

You lived and told your story, now we can read and feel your story. Great work, as I'm sure was hard work. You should be extremely proud of yourself and you probably just saved your life. Can you believe how far you have come? Can you really appreciate it? Just look at those 2 pictures and smile. AWESOME...

Great job. When I started on here, I was actually considered obese by the numbers as well. I was around 30.9% BMI which I believe was the actual beginning of the "obese range". That was a real shocker and to look at me, you would never say "obese". I have only lost 14 pounds and now in the "overweight" as well. I have…

Wow, what a post. It is definitely another way of looking at weight loss and I can believe in it. It is funny how most (if not all) people that diet cut back considerably right at the beginning. When MFP set me at 1200 calories (which it seems to for every woman), I tried it for 2 weeks and went over constantly and felt…
-
Yes, I agree MFP calculates low. It set me at 1200 calories a day but I found it difficult to maintain after a couple of weeks of going over. I reset my amount to 1500 calories and am happy when I eat less than. It feels like more of an accomplishment than always over. I am still losing but probably not as fast. I lose…

I only weigh myself once a week and always in the morning to get an accurate reading. There have been a few times when I weighed myself mid-week or later the same day and was disappointed. It is tempting but a let-down. Stick to once a week and you will see your true weight. Good luck.
