  • That helps a ton! Thanks, its just the info I needed. I do push myself a little much and I'm old.
  • alrighty, so i have been killing it, now my back is killing me. i am laying off for a couple of weeks until it feels better but wondering where i should start after taking some time off. i am pretty sure i have let form get away from me which is the issue. i am thinking when i start back i should drop weight and do a redo…
  • a person can dream....
  • keep on with the stronglifts. before long you will know you are gaining strength.
  • I eat less.than 50gm of carbs a day and never get hungry. I am on a strict keto diet; 65% fat, 30% pro, and 5 carbs. Most of mat comes from coconut oil and love it. I dont have an issue eating the same thing over and over as food does not equal entertainment for me so i think that makes a big difference. Also, my body is…
  • There is a stronglifts C?
  • If you mean booze no, but i do feel the marbley fat! In fact, when i noticed it the other day i kinda panicked a bit and thought i had a weird tumor but then noticed it all over. Damn, maybe i shouldnt up my cals then?
  • Cool. Thanks for that. I have been a little stressed too...
  • Bmr is 1555. Tdee is 2562. I calculated for light but its probably higher as i am a traditional tanner and its fairly physical work. I do stronglifts 3 x a week. I drink a gallon a day of h2o pretty easily.

  • Weird but ok. What the hell....
  • I dunno, it seems like science and i am anal about it all. Its been a couple.of weeks and at the rate i have the numbers worked out to i should be losing a pound a week and i seem to be stuck for the last couple of weeks. Why would or how could the body stop from losing when its not getting enough to maintain the weight? I…
  • Thanks for the stronglifts 5x5 suggestion. I have been wanting to start messing more with free weights and this is PERFECT for the newbie. Interestingly i just read his diet suggestions and number 8 or 9 said no carbs except after workout.
  • You did say people didnt have to be farmers to find the carbs you mentioned which is just not true. Sure, yoi can go find a wild.onikn but they are rarely bigger than the size of a quarter and you would have to spend a whole day harvesting them to accumulate and amount to even include them as a percentage of a diet, much…
  • None of those things were found in the wild just as you find them today. They all were propogated and selected to produce to the size you find them now, just like wild onions or strawberries aren't near the size the ones you find in a garden.
  • Yes. Because i wanted to teach my children how to also make their way on this earth without the modern world i raised them as a single father on subsistence farm where we raised almost everything we ate including meat, dairy, honey and veggies. So sometimes we all would eat the same thing for days on end to take advantage…
  • I haven't been low energy, except initially. After that i had great energy and it felt consistent with my energy. I didnt miss anything while eating this way and didnt feel hungry even though i now realize my caloric intake was too low. I had long ago trained myself to look at food as merely energy and really don't get a…
  • If i want to just be low carb what should my macros be? I want to stay fairly low with carbs methinks.
  • Once people became agrarian then yes, carbs became a staple. You would have been hard pressed to find much carbs in montana. There arent that many root plants here to utilize. I think that when people talk about gut evolution you really have to take into account how long hominids have been around vs how long we have been…
  • Ok. Complete redo- 145g protein, 65g fat, 190g carbs on 1900 cal a day seems to be coming out to 1# loss per week. Does that sound about right? It sure will be a cheaper diet! If that sounds good i will keep that in a holding pattern for a few weeks and reasses. Please feel free to kill this thread if its annoying or…
  • [/quote] The 10lbs was likely water/glycogen losses with a little fat. As far as keto diet for your goals, there isn't any advantage in terms of weight loss for keto diets holding cals and protein constant. Generally speaking less restrictive diets are easier to adhere to, so you may want to look into something less…
  • Gah! I thought i had this bmr thing right but apparently not!?! Glad i am asking questions. Ok....so using this link http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12. I came out with 2460 as my tdee. Now after rereading everything am i finally getting it that i need to eat around…
  • I have a ymca membership so yes on the gym. I will need to google those workouts.
  • Thanks for the input. Doing the calcs on the tdee i am uping my intake to 2000cal a day. This was after finding my bmr at 1789 and using light activity giving me a total of 2460 with a 20% deficit....... if i have it right. Sound good?
  • TDEE? i will need to look that one up. I thought you find out your bmr and then go deficient from there? Thats what i mean by confused... So am i in starvation mode and my body wont lose the weight? And i am so low carb because that is the keto diet.
  • If this helps i am consuming pretty accurately 124g of protiene, 119g of fat, and 21 g of carbs. I dont want to change too many things at once as it may muddy the water of my issues but have been thinking of dropping back to 1500 cal a day. I want to be around 170.
