Just wanted to offer you a *hug* Sounds like you've got some pretty big challenges but you've managed to lose 50 pounds even with all that going on? I'd like to know how, you've come a long way. It's okay to vent. Feel free to friend me if you want cooking tips, I'm pretty good.

I haven't tried the bulletproof coffee, though my husband has talked about it, but I can tell you that coconut oil hurts my tummy if I have too much. Could you try it without that component?

Hi Kelly, I have more like 180 to lose but I'm happy to be a friend and am looking for friends to share encouragement and inspiration with.

You look fantastic! Very inspirational, thanks.

I was also told recently that the chocolate craving during that time of the month, that it may be a sign your body needs extra potassium. Don't know if that's true, but I've noticed on here that when I track potassium, it's really hard to get anywhere near the amount they say you should, even with taking a supplement.…

Forgive yourself and start fresh. Focus on right now, one meal, one snack, at a time. I try to plan most of my food for the day so the healthy stuff is right in front of me. I really think feeling guilty and angry is the enemy. I believe in moderation and relaxing into this. Positive self talk gets me much further than…

Hi, I'm a mom to an (almost) two year old and work full time. Hour commute each way so I know what you mean about preparing healthy food. I can definitely say do NOT try the Birdseye Voila meals unless you like salt A LOT. Just tried one for the first time tonight and can barely eat it. My slow cooker is my best asset in…

Awesome job! Congratulations.

I remember reading somewhere about a study they did back in the 50s or 60s with previously healthy and non-dieting men. They put the men on a calorie restricted diet for a period of time. The men, though not previously people who cooked, became obsessed with recipes etc. After the study was over, the men were allowed to…

Most likely minerals in your water depositing on the pot as the water boils. We get a white reside on pots if the water is boiled for a while, like if I have a pot on the wood stove to put moisture in the air.

Well, I am currently using a hypnotherapy CD. I have been trying to lose weight, again and again, for about twenty-five years. (I'm 37.) Like another poster, I ordered it and started MFP again before I even got it. I'm doing well. It's hard to say whether it's helping or not. I've had less cravings than I can remember…

That does sound like sodium induced water retention to me, or PMS? You certainly didn't gain 5 pounds of fat. :) I've been frustrated myself by the scale last weigh in. Are you feeling better? Is anything easier to do? (For me, it was walking up the stairs carrying the baby.) I plan to just stick to it for the rest of the…

Does that apply to both Splenda and Nutrasweet? Or is it like Phenylketonuria? I believe people with that can use Splenda. I have used different types of Stevia and found them very different. Perhaps look around and try a different type/brand?

I love to mix some dill into cottage cheese. :)

I made a small salad (1 cup chopped lettuce, 1/4 c. chopped cucumber, 1 Tbsp. italian dressing) to go with a kielbasa and bean soup I had in the crockpot all day. The soup used Jennie-O turkey kielbasa and a 15 bean soup mix but I put my own seasonings in. (tomato puree, onion, garlic, lemon juice, chili powder, celery…

You definitely inspire me! Thank you and congratulations.

You look so healthy! It looks like you've taken years off instead of just weight. Congratulations!

LOL Just what I was thinking. Well, about the Potassium. I've been drinking a cup of orange juice in the morning and having an orange in the afternoon many days in order to get the potassium. Potassium helps your body rid it'self of excess sodium.

Mostly eat it with Kashi crackers. Love the stuff - particulary the garlic one.

I make eggplant parm by coating the eggplant slices in Egg Beaters then italian breadcrumbs, spritz with Pam or similar and back at 400 degrees, 10 minutes on each side. Once that is done, layer with sauce and sprinkle with mozzarella/parmesan and bake to melt the cheese. I know eggplant is very spongy with oil. I imagine…

One of my favorite sandwiches in a whole wheat pita is hummus with chopped veggies (mostly lettuce and cucumber) and some low fat cheese or chopped leftover chicken. Sometimes I use a little italian dressing. I don't know what it would be like to put it together ahead of time though, I usually do it in the kitchen at work…

Betty Crocker's Healthy New Choices cookbook is very nice with lots of option for fast and easy, but tasty, meals.

I honestly think that in order to lose weight, for me, I need to work on dealing with my thoughts and feelings as much as counting calories and exercising. It isn't the dieting that makes me feel crazy, it's my thoughts and feelings about it. I pulled out a book a few days ago that has helped me in the past a LOT! It's…

Awwwe - some! Way to go!

I have used one of her DVDs in the past and felt it gave me a very good toning full body workout.

I'm 5'10", weigh 360.4 pounds (down from 366.8) and wear a size 32. I'm looking to lose half my body weight. I have no idea what size I will be when I get there as I haven't been there since I was in about 6th grade.
