  • Thats awesome!! Great job!
  • I bought it at the beginning of the week and I'm waiting for it to arrive. If anyone wants to add me, feel free :) I love lifting and I'm looking forward to seeing how this program goes.
  • I used to be super active until I had an injury and children. I got a fitbit one after my first kid was born and it was really helpful in getting me to get going again. I wore it for the first week or so to see what my usual activity level was and then set goals to gradually increase it. I found it motivational to have a…
  • Hi! Feel free to add me too! :) I'm on my second weight loss journey. I lost 67 lbs after my first baby mostly by logging my food (not here). I fell off the train with my second baby so here I am. 35 lbs to go. I would love some ideas and variety, I tend to eat the same thing for breakfast/lunch for a few weeks at a time.
  • Thats probably a little high (the 500 cals). Thats about what my range is, I try to keep it around 1600-1700 cals. I've lost 5 lbs since I started back so its working. Before I was eating in the 2000s and was slowly gaining. I have a book that has some really great info: Eat Well, Lose Weight, While Breastfeeding by…
  • I prepare a weeks worth of overnight oatmeal or greek yogurt/frozen berries/granola. Overnight oatmeal = 1 part old fashioned oats, 1 part milk, 1 part applesauce and cinnamon or apple pie spice to taste (I do 1/2 cup of everything and 1/4 tsp apple pie spice). Store in fridge 5-7 days - the flavor gets better as it sits.…
  • I had issues with post-partum birth control too! It was so frustrating. I had an IUD.. before I got it I had lost 21 lbs... and gained back 7-8 lbs. I thought I had PPD (or I was going crazy :) ) until I realized all the symptoms started a week or two after I got it. I lost 67 lbs with my first pregnancy and now with my…
  • Hi! My kids are 2.5 and 8 mo. I could definitely use some mama friends out there. I get so exhausted sometime its hard to keep up with my weight loss/exercise goals. I've lost 20 lbs already, but I have 35 more lbs to loose (15 of that is pre-baby weight). For those of you breastfeeding, I am too. My baby is eating solids…
  • Hi! I'd love if we could be friends. I took a long hiatus from lifting after hip surgery and then two kids. I just started weight lifting again last month and I'm so hooked to the rush of lifting. I used to be really big into power lifting in college. I've always toyed with the idea of competing but for now I'm losing the…
  • LoL you're not crazy. :) I felt the same way. I couldn't figure out why I was getting dizzy all the time.
  • As far as steak is concerned... everyone has their different opinions on red meat, but mainly if you eat a balanced diet you should be good. I tend to break down the protein for my dinners like this: 2 red meat, 2 white meat (chicken, turkey, pork), 1 salmon/fish, 1 veggie meal, and 1 homemade pizza night (for the kids :)…
  • I'm not sure where you are starting, but check out http://www.choosemyplate.gov/ it has a lot of good basic information on what you should eat any why. Go here: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/myplate/index.aspx and enter your information to see how many calories you should be eating, and in what portions (protein, fruit,…
  • That used to happen to me every time I took a multi (womens one a day I think it was), especially on an empty stomach or after a workout (when your metabolism is faster). I'm going to do a horrible job explaining this, but from what my doctor said, its a reaction to a certain nutrient, essentially you are getting too much…
  • I'm not an expert here in the slightest, but if you were consistently not eating enough calories, your body thinks its not going get enough calories so it stores everything. When you are in the right calorie range, it recognizes it is getting enough and will stop storing everything you eat. Wouldn't it be nice if we could…
  • I just did sweat today. I'm wondering how I'm going to make it up the stairs to bed! That leg workout is killer!
  • Me 3, LNS 0 Funny thing, I used to eat a lot at night. Now that I'm making an effort not to eat after 7, I'm realizing that I'm not usually even hungry.
  • How is it going so far? I just ordered PIYO so I'm pretty excited about starting it. What did you end up logging it as?
  • What is a more satisfying lunch?
  • Maybe I'll try breaking it down to 5 meals and see if that helps too. This morning I ditched the honey and added an extra half cup of greek yogurt and for lunch I got rid of the peanuts and added cottage cheese instead. So far so good. Usually between 12-1 is when I get really hungry, so that's a good start I think. I'm…
  • I thought I was eating a decent sized lunch. I eat 4 meals, between 300-500 each, aiming for 1700 cals (at 8am, 11 am, 1:30pm and 4pm). If I'm short I add a small 100-200 cal snack at 6:30pm.
  • I feel like this wasn't an issue until I started trying to eat healthier. Although in hindsight, I did eat when I was tired. I've stopped doing that so I was probably just masking it before.
  • Thanks for all the great suggestions. I kinda figured my food choices were probably an issue. I was focusing more on trying to eat healthier foods, not really how they were affecting me. I'll rework my breakfast and lunch and see what happens. I'm sure that sleep has something to do with it. I have an 8 mo old and a 2.5…
  • I don't think that's a fail. As long as you are under your daily allowance, you're good. I usually have a cheat day once a week, where I indulge a little. I just make sure I plan it into my meal plan. As time goes on, the "cheats" that you crave get better and better for you.
  • Congratz on your new baby! I had a baby last June and I'm finally motivated to lose the 30 lbs I need to. I also have a 2.5 year old. I lost the weight after the first one (67 lbs total), but this time around has been really rough. I could definitely use some support.
  • I have 30 lbs to lose again. I gained 62 with my first baby, and lost 67 before the second one. I gained 39 with the second. This time around it is so much harder to lose! I'm pretty sure the only weight I've lost was from when I gave birth 8 months ago.
  • I'm late to this challenge but I'd like to join! I recently realized that I eat because I'm tired at night....my goal is to stop eating after 7 and go to sleep if I'm tired instead. Me 1*, LNS 0
  • Hi Alison! Good luck on your weight loss. I'm here to lose my post-pregnancy weight. I'm currently 5'8 and 196.4 lbs. I'd like to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight of 160 and then lose another 15-20 lbs to get down to my goal of 140-145. I just started the JNL Fusion workouts. I need to focus on eating better though.…
