  • Ya know, I used to always feel terrible for starting and stopping so much. But I realized, hey, the three months I spent being healthy last year was better than not spending any time caring about my health. And every time I start on the journey could be the time that I really stick to it!
  • 4'9 SW: 160 -- pants size 10/12, shirts L CW: 122 -- pants size 6, shirts M/S I'm not sure with goals. Originally I couldn't imagine going under 115, but now I don't feel like I look a ton different. So I'm thinking eventually I'll be looking for 100 or so. My hips don't have much more flab left over the bone, so I don't…
  • For myself and my boyfriend, I spend around $90 a week. We used to spend much, much less. I had a budget of $35 and we made it work. I don't want to go back to that, though. It was rough, and often meant relying on cheap frozen pizzas and sodium heavy soups.
  • I'm 4'9. My diary is closed, but I'd be happy to open it temporarily. I'll be upfront with you, I don't always hit 1200 calories. At my height and size, 1200 is nearly maintenance for me, haha. Feel free to add me, I'll accept! I'd love for you to message me, too, though.
  • I had a FuelBand and now I have a FitBit. FuelBand was great because it showed stats on the display. FitBit doesn't do that. Nike FuelPoints also tie into a lot of things in the fitness world. I love the Nike running app, and it was great to combine them. FitBit is great though for getting an accurate read on calories. I…
  • The first picture is from my birthday, when my boyfriend bought me this dress. I was pretty darn happy with how I looked in it, since I had maintained being about 140 pounds for a couple of years. (My highest was 160.) The second picture is from today, at 122.8. I'm 4'9. I recognize that my stance plays a big part, since I…
  • About a teaspoon of sugar and a splash of milk.
  • @Francl27 - Yeah, for liquid. Adding milk to oatmeal and things like that.
  • Thanks for the responses, guys! I know a three week plateau isn't unheard of. @4legsRbettert - I'm definitely logging accurately. That's never been an issue for me. I've lost quite a bit of weight in the past. Creating more a deficit is hard for me because my BMR is just over 1200. So more deficit just means more working…
  • I'm 24, and considerably shorter than you at 4'9. But, you know, I'd still love to be buddies!
  • First of all, I'm just really thrilled for you that you're moving in such a positive direction with your past of self-image and eating issues. Seriously, you deserve congrats for that. So about your caloric intake. BMR is absolutely base. You sit and do nothing all day? You burn around 1600 calories. So if you did nothing,…
  • I was so sure I had a realistic view of my body. I guessed between the third and fourth, and I put my last measurements which were from about 15 pounds heavier. My result was between the second and third. That makes me more confident that I don't need to lose the 30 pounds that the 'numbers' say I should!
  • I was so in the zone on the elliptical that I was singing along with my Disney and broadway playlist out loud without realizing it. Somehow this is my favorite post so far, because I recognize you from around the forum.
  • Hi Kristy! I'm sort of in the same 'back on track' boat as you. Glad to have you around! I also struggle to get fruits and veggies in my diet. I'll use the 'too busy' excuse. Relying on meal replacement shakes and bars and such is just so much easier!
  • Thanks for the responses, all! Some things to think on. =) It just happens. That's always been my problem - I get anxiety regardless of whether there's anything bothering me. Sometimes, yes, I'm thinking, "Oh god I have so much to do I just can't even think of tackling it." But generally, it's just bursts of frustration,…
  • I haven't had this problem in particular, because I've always had terrible insomnia and I'm on medication for that now. However, I have been getting really 'buzzed' and anxious in the evenings since I started working out, no matter how early I go!
  • It's up to you! I like to weigh in at least every couple of days. That way if I have a sudden weird spike on my 'official' day, I know it's a one-off. =) But I only record once a week.
  • I enjoy yogurt a lot, but if I eat more than a cup every few days, my body odor starts to smell like it. It is quite unpleasant. So I generally avoid it.
  • My out of date work shirts are what I normally wear!
  • In total through a couple of years of sporadic dieting, I've lost around 30 pounds. I'd love to try to help motivate you!
  • I really love my FitBit. It helps motivate me, and helps keep me on track especially on my rest days. I just lower my goal accordingly, but then I still have a goal to hit. I'd recommend buying one from somewhere with a good return policy. If you live near an Apple store, they'll take it back within two weeks as long as…
  • I think it's hard for me to imagine what I'll look like at 120. It seems so far away, so that's why it's my goal-ish for now. Once I get down there, I may very well lower that goal. There's just something about the idea of being 100 pounds that scares me! But maybe that's my denial that I'm that overweight, haha.
  • God yes. I've barely seen any movement the last couple of weeks. And although I feel great about the changes I'm making in my life and all, it still makes me want throw on my fat sweatpants, chug some wine, and eat some ice cream while watching Buffy.
  • I initially bought the One, but returned it after a couple of days and got the Flex. The One was just less convenient, because every time I changed clothes (often, between work, the gym, and going out), I had to find somewhere new to put it. I forgot about it a lot. It also was really hard to get out of the charging…
  • I love this, and I needed to see it. As a short girl with not THAT many pounds to lose (I tell myself), my BMR isn't far over 1200! So I have to accept that I just can't lose two pounds a week consistently, unless I'm burning at least 500 calories a day through exercise. Thanks for the post!
  • 24 here! I feel like a lot of us spend our early 20s gaining weight, and the latter half working to make up for it!
  • I have ADHD and anxiety. Some days I wake up and I just know that my mind isn't going to be on the right track without some help. Pre-logging on those days really, really helps me. Have one of the biggest stresses in my life already planned out sets me at ease. But it's not something I commit to doing every day. Especially…
  • Oh that's harsh! I hate that someone would say something like that, but I'm glad you're starting on your journey. My advice is to log every day, and build a network of buddies. Following their progress (but not striving for the same) and having them as support makes a big difference!
  • Just to make sure I understand - I'm not gaining that much muscle (I didn't think I'd gain a pound or more of muscle haha), but the number I'm seeing is still being affected by the strength training?
