I had bowel surgery in July so I understand exactly where you are coming from. Heavy lifting makes my side hurt where I had surgery, so I usually just stick w/ cardio and bodyweight exercises. I wouldn't do pushups or anything involving pushups (i.e. burpees) until your chest is healed. I do alot of squats and lunges for…

My name is Tanya, I'm 36, single w/ no kids. I was originally 260lbs and now I'm down to 180. I got sick earlier this year and lost down to 150lbs. I'm now healthy again but unfortunately gained all the sick weight back and now my goal is to get back into my Size 8's the HEALTHY way. My goal is to accomplish this by Spring…

Does your church have single men or a Singles ministry? Also, does your town have Meet Up groups? Meet up groups are people who have similar interests/hobbies that get together hang out regularly, like dinner and movies. You can go to Meetup.com online and enter your town's name to see if they have one locally.

I'm not crazy about my foods touching either, but my weird habit is that I only eat one food item at a time. All my veggies, all my meats. I don't skip back and forth between food. My parents still laugh at me about it to this day. LOL

Jefit is an excellent app to download for weight lifting exercises, it even does demos to show how the moves are performed, and you can create your workouts and schedule them. Excellent app!

This is excellent advice. WHY do you regain the weight? Weight loss surgery may fix the physical issue, but the psychological issue is still there and will remain unless you address it. My advice is work on the mind first, because wherever the mind goes, the body follows..........

There are some cultures that embrace plus-sized women over thin women. Obesity is an epidemic and everyone should strive to be healthy, but just because some people don't find it appropriate for an overweight woman to wear a bikini doesn't make it wrong. What if script was flipped and society decided that being thin is…

I believe high-maintenance as far as personality are those who always need attention or compliments. Those friends/loved ones that want you to be available ALL the time to text, call, vent to, hang out with, cry to, come to their aid, and they get upset if you are not. And they constantly need others to affirm them. They…

The first time I took bootcamp at my gym, I literally passed out. I got so dizzy from the hard workout that I had a spell and had to sit down and my trainer had to help me get myself together. I was embarrassed as well, but I kept going back because I knew that was the only way to defeat this feeling. Keep going, it will…

Losing weight ALWAYS incites jealousy in others. Even if its not family and friends, SOMEONE will hate on the fact that you lost weight. People who are jealous, are people who don't recognize their own blessings. Also, they are upset that you accomplished something that they more than likely failed at. Never let anyone…

I certainly did!!! For years I lingered in the Obese category even after losing 80lbs and weight training. I am finally in the Overweight category. I'm trying to stay in the middle of the category so around BMI 27 or so.............Congrats to you!

^^^This! I had this same problem. I used to do lots of core work, eating clean, etc. and it seemed like my belly would not go anywhere no matter how hard I tried. I always had a pudgy belly too, but for some reason it would not go down. Turns out, I had fluid in my belly and the fluid distended my stomach which is why no…

You prob didn't get much response because your topic is so narrow. I just had surgery myself, a bowel resection on April 8, and I was told the same thing, no lifting more than 10lbs for 6 weeks. So I think that advice is just general advice given to anyone who has had a major surgery. I'm also a lifter, and I would ease…

I miss certain aspects of high school, like I'd like to go back and do the things I never did, like go to prom, etc. I'd like to go back as the cool, popular chick, cause that was not me in high school LOL!

You do need to contact your physician because you don't know how big or small your gastric pouch is. Some weight gain after gastric bypass is expected because that gastric pouch will expand just like your normal stomach. You may have to supplement your eating w/ some nutritional drinks such as Boost or Ensure so that you…
