  • I have recently started Greyskull LP. Really like the simplicity and flexibility of the program and the fact that it is setup with a 3 day split.
  • Thanks for the input (one of the things I REALLY like about this group) Okay, focusing on sodium intake. Man this is all so different than what has been preached by the mainstream (cut the fat, watch your sodium) for so many years.
  • @wabmester Yeah I suppose "scary" is in the eye of the beholder. The rapid heartbeat, dizziness, confusion and fever just made for an out of the ordinary afternoon for me.
  • There are several calculators out there on the web. This one is nice http://keto-calculator.ankerl.com/ also one here http://www.ruled.me/keto-calculator/ These can give you a starting point and then adjust over time to how you react to the change in eating. Good luck
  • Enjoyed the TED talk, which prompted me to check out the speaker. I found that Dr Halberg has a site fitteru.us that has a lot more videos.

  • Tagging on to see the responses from the folks that have been doing this for a while. As far as myself; I set my calorie goal, then backed out 23g of carbs, then allowed 0.9 grams of protein for each pound of Lean Body Mass and then the remainder was left for Fat. So far, after a few weeks I seem to be going in the right…
  • Working on day 4 of Keto. Definitely looking to add some more friends that are on the same path.
  • Sneak off at lunch time to see my favorite massage therapist; even if there is no immediate physical need, that hour of just focusing on relaxation always works.
  • @Montepulciano and @EatSleepRideRun you have found one of the most supportive groups on MFP. I constantly notice that folks I meet on this group, continue to be the most active and most supportive of all the people I have meet on MFP. Welcome and good luck with the rest of your journey.
  • I think these folks have got it figured out. I am learning that the diet is the most important; all the hard work happens in the kitchen. The key is finding a plan that you can live with ALL the time. Don't hold out until the weekend to give yourself a reward (wine, cookie, cocktail) this can very often set you up to go…
  • Okay, took me about 90minutes to get it all unpacked and put together. Went much faster after I went out to the garage and got my own tools, versus using the ones they supplied. Overall not too bad. I used the Smart Max Interval setting, which appears to automatically adjust the resistance levels based on the individual…
  • The best thing about having done this before, is that you know you are capable. There are a lot of folks just starting, this month, that are not sure if they can succeed or not. You got this!
  • Mine was delivered today, looking to give it a shot tonight. Gave up my rower to get the Max5, in hopes that others in the family would also get some use out of the machine.
  • Okay, I have not been very active in the group during the second half of 2015, and thought I would start the new year off by re-introducing myself. It also gets this thread back to the top so all the new members can easily find it ;). My name is Ed, I am a 51 year old guy living in Louisville KY. I live with my wife and 15…
  • Always looking for more folks to help inspire.
  • Good luck on the counting, it takes some getting used to. I have found that it is the one thing that really helps me succeed, however I find it is very easy to slip away from the habit.
  • Louisville, KY
  • I think I just had that "A HA" moment, but mine was really "Oh $%!T, I have become one of those people always making excuses!!!" I have been on here for a few years, up and down with my weight, which directly corresponds to how well I track and how dedicated I am to exercise. However, I am very good at making excuses,…
  • Thank you gentlemen. Between your comments and reviews on other websites, I believe a new Concept2 is in my future.
  • Finished W3D2 last night. It seemed to go a little easier than W3D1, guess I was more focused on hitting the ground with a mid-foot strike, rather than heel first. Focusing on my form is a good way to distract my mind and helps prevent injury, I hope :)
  • Hi, I'm Ed. I just joined the group and still trying to feel my way through the low carb approach. There seem to be a number of options and varying levels of carb intake, guess I have to find the level that will work for me. Just downloaded a kindle book by Sten Skaldeman that looks interesting and would appreciate other…
  • Knocked out W2D1 last night. Noticed I went a little slower on the running part, guess knowing I had to maintain for a little longer was in my head. Pace was around 10min/mile vs the 9.5min/mile last week. Still better than sitting on the couch. :)
  • Good luck guys. RiverDude you are getting close to your goal great job.

  • My goal is to see the number on the scale drop each month, by being consistent with my tracking and exercise. Not so worried about the amount of drop, because I know that if the number is going down I am doing something right.
  • "It doesn't get easier. YOU GET STRONGER!!!" This reminds me that doing the hard work makes me better, whether it is adding an extra 100 yards to a run or an extra push-up or squat to a workout. When I go out the next time I will be stronger because of the work I did the previous day.
  • Hi, 50 year old male from Louisville. Trying to get back in the saddle with tracking my intake and exercise. Have had a few things get in the way that last year and seem to have lost my way. Just moved back into my home after being flooded out, so now that things are getting back to normal I thought it would be a good time…
