  • Hi, I'm Marie. Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, but moved to Virginia for work last June. I'm a gifted science teacher in a middle school which is tons of fun, but lots of stress too. I'm 39 years old, fur baby mom to two pups, no children of my own yet though sadly (two step kids, but yeah.) I would love to be a healthier…
  • 39. Want to be mama. Teacher, so "mama" to about 95 middle schoolers a year? Fur mama to 2 pups. Age:39 H: 5'10" HW: 247 CW: 245 1GW: 235 2GW: 210 UGW: 195
  • I always find it interesting to read what sizes people wear, since it's so individual and based on where you carry your weight and all. I'm 5'10" with a larger build (broad shoulders, big hands, size 10.5/11 shoe, broad hip bones.) I'm currently 222 lbs and a size 14-18 depending on the clothing brand and cut/style. Even…

  • Today I tried half an avocado mashed up on two slices of multigrain toast and then a couple slices of tomato on each. I sprinkled some black pepper on as well. Surprisingly it was really good and three hours later I'm still pretty full (though nearing my time for my almond snack at 10:30.)

  • I'm in need of new friends too!
  • Thanks both of you. I do have my FitBit, which I love. It provides extra motivation and keeps me accountable for my activity, which is why I'm almost beating myself up over this. I do try to park further from places that I'm going, but it's so hard in the winter (especially this one which seems to be endless snow and…
  • That's a good idea. I currently use a 32 oz plastic cup/bottle that I refill on the second floor (only two levels to our building and I'm on the first.) I've only been going to the other bathroom on my level (the closer one is right outside of my office) but could go upstairs to use theirs and get in some extra stairs.…
  • Thanks, though I do already do this.
  • Thanks! I do already park in the farthest parking lot that I can, but I'll definitely work on your other two suggestions.
  • Today instead of drinking water, all I've drank is cream soda…guess I'll need to make it up tomorrow.
  • For the gain…perhaps TOM? Eating more salty foods? Increasing weights/activity that could cause your muscles to hold onto some extra water temporarily to heal? You don't have your diary open to the public, so it's really hard to tell you more. Personally though, I really think that weighing yourself so many times (every…
  • Your weight will often fluctuate on a daily basis, which is why most people recommend weighing yourself only once a week max. Also, how much more weight do you have/plan to lose? From what I've read on here, it seems that the closer people get to their goal, the harder it is to lose the weight. Maybe play around with your…
  • Hi everyone! I've been GF for about 3 1/2 years now, due to celiac. My diary is open for friends, and I'd love to see what everyone else is eating for new ideas!
  • Agree with above. The stomach bug is going around like crazy. If this is a relatively sudden thing, that's what it probably is. Otherwise, it needs to be discussed/diagnosed with your doctor. Gluten could be the culprit, but I'd still recommend seeing your doctor. Google and WebMD can be dangerous!
  • I'm gluten free due to celiac, which I was diagnosed with about 3 1/2 years ago. It is not a miracle diet by any means. In fact, many gluten free products (such as breads and what not) have more sugar in than regular gluten full items, in order to make them taste relatively normal. I gained weight after being diagnosed and…
  • marie5282.tumblr.com I post a ton of different stuff…but am planning on more fitness/motivating posts.
  • Feel free to add me as well. I'm kind of iffy on how active I am with posting things other than my food diary, but when I'm on, I'm on. lol
  • I'm gluten free as well, diagnosed with celiac 2 1/2 years ago. Feel free to add me!
  • Anything that I drink that does not involve caffeine or alcohol or added sugar, I will count as water. This includes herbal or decaf tea as counting towards my water, but kicks out coffee or the occasional pop.
  • You definitely should contact the manager about this trainer. That is totally inappropriate for him to do, not to mention incredibly rude. If the manager won't do anything about it, like others said, write a strongly worded letter to the newspaper. Word of mouth can be very powerful, and the manager should do everything in…
  • I had an appointment with a personal trainer for joining Planet Fitness a while ago, and was not in the best of shape at all. The personal trainer was this @ss of a guy who was showing me how the triceps weight machine worked and cheering me on for doing such a huge weight so well. When I looked in the mirror, he was…
  • Exactly this. If you're finding that you're eating more fiber and protein especially than you used to, that could be the "culprit" as they fill you up more and make you feel more satisfied. It's a good thing, not a bad thing at all. You do want to make sure that you eat the right amount of calories for your body too though.
  • I don't know about your Denny's...but the ones near me are no where clean enough for me to trust a lack of cross contamination. I especially "love" the waiters or waitresses who ask me if it's ok to have milk while on a gluten free diet. That's when I say thank you, pay for my drink, and walk out. You need to put your…
  • I love pilates. You might not feel it during the class, but afterwards and the day after, whoa! When I'm really good with doing it regularly, I can definitely see a difference in my waistline and ab muscles.
  • Kettle ball. Just one good weight one at home and you can do a ton!
  • Just like I plan my meals for the week ahead of time (with flexibility), I plan when I'm going to go to the gym and what I ideally would like to do there. Kind of like making a date with myself. I've found that if I pre-log it, I will not go back and change it, and I'm being very honest with my diaries on here so I can't…
  • Agreed. Also, I don't think I could eat "junk food" only once a week. Maybe our definitions are different though? If you have to limit that much, it's not really realistic in the real world I don't think. Maybe to start out, cut back on "junk food"?
