I wish MFP had a "like button". All the inputs deserve a like.

I tried the black beans, brown rice, chicken broth, canned tomatoes (from garden), salsa, onion, garlic and low fat sour cream, sprinkled with sharp cheddar. I'm hooked at around 322 calories.
-
Thanks folks. I'll try them all. They look delish.
-
You got it. Just count them calories and burn baby, burn the fat.

Simply Incredible! What an inspiration you are Sir. Almost there.

Love it

This is all new to me, as far as logging through the holiday, so I tried as best to guess what my wife's cooking would add up to. Thanks to being calorie conscious, I didn't gorge myself these past few days, while still enjoying some awesome food. Call me a freak then...guilty.

OK, thought this forum was to share with people health and fitness advice, but from some of the responses I must have been mistaken. I appreciate the serious responses though.

Hey Travis, you're a sick ****er. Stay off my thread and get a life.

Yeah, it hurts like hell the next day. The surgeon said to stay away from them and leg extensions. My MCL is messed up as well. Just waiting to get into the VA for surgery. As far as form, well I've been lifting since 1982 and never had knee issues before and I regularly squatted 300 plus.

Do they sell Kackies in the boys dept?

$600 for a Hip Thruster. What a joke. There is very little engineering in this design. I'd say ask maybe $150 and that's a push.

I like your thinking. I must say I'm one of those old timers that eat at 6am, snack at 9:30, lunch around noon, snack again at 3, dinner at 5ish, and finish up with a 7pm snack. The problem for me was the quality of food consumed and of course portion control. I've dropped almost 10 lbs in the first 20 days of this new…

That's exactly what I was thinking. Seems like anything that is less processed is twice as expensive. No wonder we have so many overweight people out there. We can't afford to eat healthy...lol
-
Ok but my wife says Dr. Oz recommends the bulk of the calories be eaten before 3-4pm when the metabolism is still cranking away. So I'm not sure...I mean he is a doctor (tv)...lol

I'm not sure one can just simplify everything and dismiss others opinions. This forum can be used to help and motivate people or used to tear people down. I personally appreciate the positive responses and advice.

Thanks for the link. Would think I burn calories because I lift right after getting off the treadmill and I'm breathing heavy during my whole upper body workout.

Thanks, best advice yet. Thing is I really want to drop the first 10-15 pounds as quick as possible because I put them on so quickly. I'll adjust my goal to 1700 cal/day and see how that affects the headache issue. I hate taking drugs that these physicians push and my insurance doesn't cover dieticians (well unless I'm…

I'm on a 1500 cal/day diet. I start the day with egg whites and a lean meat/cheese omelet or oatmeal and one cup of coffee. I try to eat six meals a day. My exercise isn't intense, just enough to burn a 150 cal or so with some weights. I weight 217lbs so drinking more than 8 glasses of water is really hard to swallow (pun).

Thank you for your advice. It is very helpful and I appreciate the time it took to deliver it. I will definitely incorporate more veggies and fish. Tonight's meal was baked salmon, steamed rice and stir fry veggies. And I'm full with all coming in under 400 calories.

Red bell peppers raw? Not sure if I could do that. Usually eat them stir fried but I'll try it.

Sorry for the late response. I fell off the mfp plan back in June/July. So I was going through my posts and read yours. Thank you for your honesty and directness. Seems like we Americans are always looking for the quick and easy fixes. I'm not new to exercise (been lifting on and off for 32 years), but my diet was always…

Wow, thanks for your input. I like the idea of supplementing juice with a balanced diet. My wife and I hadn't started it anyways. Was waiting for more info.
-
Wow, I didn't know that. Thanks for the info. Have any research to back it up. There are so many experts out there and studies.

I wrote dumbness but meant numbness. Now I feel dumb...lol  Thanks for all the great input.

I do 5 min cardio on elliptical to loosen up, then stretch, then weights, and finish up with cardio and stretch. Seems to work for not pulling any muscles. But always do a little cardio before stretching, or you can injure yourself.

The circuit training I do in my college pe class uses light weights but the muscles never really get fatigued. On my off days, I'll do one heavy lift per muscle group once a week. Bench press at 70% my body weight (bw) for 3sets/10-12reps, barbell curls at 35% bw, squats or leg press at 80% bw, seated row at 60% bw. There…
