  • I workout first thing in the morning but I always try to eat a little something beforehand (a greek yogurt, banana, etc). I find it helps boost my energy and allows me to power though longer. If I don't eat, my workouts are not as long or intense.
  • I started level 1 this morning. Anxious to see how sore I am when I wake up tomorrow. The push-ups were the hardest or me but I think more due to worry of injury as my shoulder & neck are quite prone to it but i had no pain through it and actually felt looser in that part of my body afterwards. Looking forward to tomorrow.…
  • This is great. My mornings are very busy and it never occurred to me to freeze a breakfast sandwich. Can't wait to cook up a batch now. I'll use egg whites, chicken bacon or turkey sausage, veggies and lite cheddar.
  • Saving this to make this week. Sounds delish.
  • I've done WW also. Find this site site MUCH easier, more motivating and saves me a ton of $$, I'm getting better results and I don't have to drive to a location every week and stand in line like cattle. Love it!
  • I'm 2 weeks in and 5 1/2 lbs lost. I already had someone notice it in my face and I see a difference in clothes already.
  • I am a sugar addict so for now I have cut out refined sugar products like candy, sweets, etc but I will re-introduce them in moderation. As many have said, it's not a diet but a lifestyle change. It's not realistic to say I will never eat a dessert to chocolate bar again. I will but I will eat less of them when I do and…
  • I have similar issues. I lost a lot of weight in the past and doing ab work (crunches, planks, Pilates) really helped with toning up my tummies. Cardio alone won't tone it up. Good luck, congrats on the 30lbs already lost, and I gotta give you props for posting your pics. More courageous than me. That's awesome! Also try…
  • Hi Melissa. I'm 11 days in on this site so fairly new myself. I'm 44 and have an 8 year old and a 55 year old (hubby). Sometimes it's like having 2 children. Many women can relate to that. Lol! I like the site so far. Feel free to add me as a friend. Good luck!
  • I'm pretty new also (11 days in). I really like the site so far. Lots of motivating people on here and easy to track food as a lot of the nutritional info is already in the site (though I always confirm it the first time I see it). Feel free to add me as a friend. Good luck with your journey.
  • Fun post! Velvet Morning -20
  • My cals were set at 1200 by MFP but like you, I was feeling very fatigued and hungry all the time, especially at night. I upped my cals to 1400 just yesterday and feel better already. My BMR actually says just over 1500 and I've read from some people on the boards that we shouldn't go under our BMR but I'm trying 1400 for…
  • I'm keeping it to myself. I have some people in my life who constantly watch me and ask me how much I lost last week, etc when they know I'm dieting. And look me over top to bottom as I'm talking to them. Talk about feeling judged! I would just rather do my thing quietly on my own. If people see results and start asking…
  • Everyone is different. Your GW sounds reasonable based on what "charts" say for that height but I'm the same height and when I was at my most fit (running every day, weight training and eating extremely well) the lowest weight I was at was 147. I was in a size 7 pants (Canada sizes). So for ME, 125 would be hard to achieve…
  • This is also 4 days in for me :-). We can do this!
  • You can do it. Try not to focus on the whole amount you want to lose. Focus on little increments, maybe 5 or 10lbs at a time. Little by little, it will come off. Stay strong and KNOW that you WILL accomplish your goal. You can do this :-))
  • You can both do this! The mental is as important as the physical changes you need to make to accomplish any goal. You need to "Believe it to Achieve it". Another fave quote of mine is "you become what you believe". If you believe you can do it, you will. If you believe you can get to that number on the scales, you will.…
  • Great job! Your hard work and dedication has paid off. Thanks for sharing. A newbie like me loves to see all these success stories!
  • Awesome accomplishment for you! Congratulations! Your before and after pics are very inspirational.
  • I read the same info over the holidays and immediately gave up margarine. I had been meaning to for years and this was the thing to make the decision final.
  • I like it with either fruit (1/2 cup of each) or yogurt mixed with it. I've also had it with cinnamon and apple. I love the stuff.
  • I use 40% protein, 40% carbs and 20% fat. And no sugar (other than naturally occuring). This was very successful for me in the past along with regular exercise ( cardio & strength). I dropped 45lbs and felt fantastic, lots of energy.
  • I say stick with real butter. I'm becoming increasingly wary of anything that is "manufactured", "tastes like", anything with aspartame, etc. this is not natural products. Butter is natural and tastes so much better than any substitute. I find that when you use the good stuff, you don't need as much.
  • Steel cut oats are my fave also. I find they have a bit of a nutty texture. As for cottage cheese, try adding some flavoured yogurt to it. My stepson has thanked me over and over for that tip. He couldn't stand cottage cheese but loved the high protein factor of it. Since adding yogurt, it's his favourite snack. But like…
  • I'm in! I need a group to keep me motivated. We can do this!!!
  • I used to suffer from shin splints a lot so I feel your pain. I had them when I was working out every day and in fabulous shape so its not always due to inactivity. . To ease them you can apply ice (bags of frozen peas work great). Custom made Orthotics in my sneakers cured my shin splints. May want to give that a try.…
