Hi ladies, I'm due 23 Sept! I was a bit surprised that the OB wanted me to watch my weight because I thought I was tracking maybe on the high side of normal but not off the chart and I had never heard of a pregnant lady on a diet! Nonetheless, I was probably indulging a bit too much in ice cream so happy to cut that out. I…

I KNOW! I don't think I could have eaten 1200 calories prior to pregnancy. It also just makes you really grumpy too (my poor husband). Good luck !

Hi all! I'm new here and due with my first in Sept! I was a healthy weight prior to pregnancy but at 28 weeks I had gained 22lbs and my OB told me I was putting on weight too quickly. My OB sent me to a dietician and she put me on a 1200 calorie, high carb, low fat diet. I felt like I was starving for the first couple days…

Congratulations!!! I am 30 weeks pregnant with my first baby and was about 5lbs above my goal weight at the start of pregnancy. I had gained 22lbs by 28 weeks and my OB referred me to a dietician because she thought I was gaining too much weight. . I've just done the test for gestational diabetes and have no problems…

Hey girl, Just had a quick look at 2 days of your food diary. Your calorie count looks good and you are staying within your 'budget'. One thing that may help is if you reduce the amount of refined sugars that you are eating with your carbs, try and cut out some of the processed food and replace it with whole foods. Like…

I would mix it up. Do twice a week intense and twice a week long. The more you keep your body guessing the better your results will be!

I guess you have really pinpointed what the difference is between people who are already slim versus those of us who have to work at it! It isn't easy and it really is about taking things one step at a time- which it sounds like you are, if you have eradicated unhealthy food from your house and now you are just struggling…

This is a very contentious issue! My personal view is that I try not to eat my exercise calories unless I am truly hungry and need sustenance. I find I lose weight quicker if I don't eat all my exercise calories. However, sometimes if I know I am going out to dinner or am going to have a piece of cake for someones birthday…

sweet and sour shrimp or pork isn't too bad for fat and calories.

V. funny! My mother in law told me to stop exercising because it makes you hungry and to drink lots of black tea to suppress your appetite! Um, thanks??

For me a free day doesn't work cos it brings back all my cravings for sweet, salty, greasy etc. instead of satisfying it and I feel like it all week :(

Hey- I went through and got my quals last year to become a personal trainer and I love it sooooo much! I have been teaching mostly group fitness type stuff including boot camps and spin classes. It is sooooo interesting to learn all about exercise, you'll love it!!!

I couldn't agree more!!!! I feel like all I can eat for 1200 caloris is fruit and vegetables, my usual morning muffin is 500cals- and that is just a snack!!!!

Hi! A good place to start with strength training is to do each workout as a total body workout. You start out that way to make sure that the big muscle groups in the body (legs, butt, chest, back, abs) are developed first and can provide a strong base of support so that you don't get any injuries. Keep up with the total…

It's so hard sometimes to fit it all in! I get up and exercise before work, it takes awhile to get used to waking up early but you feel pumped for the rest of the day. A quick and effective exercise program is a 20min circuit workout at home- easily done in your living room or bedroom either morning or evening. Try this…
