I have thyroid issues myself. There are actually a lot of foods that can have an effect on your thyroid levels. For instance, soy products. If you're someone who drinks soy milk, cut it out and see how you feel in 6 weeks. It takes about 6 weeks to notice any real change in your thyroid levels. Do some research on other…

I had read some articles reporting the same information and decided to try it out. That only lasted for a week and a half. I found that taking it at night did help fix my sleep cycle, but I had trouble remembering if I had taken it. I also had problems with not eating or drinking after taking it. I'm in college, so night…

We're the same height, and just around the same weight. Please feel free to add me.

I love my juicer! This morning I had a juice that was carrots, apples, and lemon. I love putting lemon into my juices, it ends up being the only thing you can taste. If you go to the website rebootwithjoe.com there are tons of recipes to be found. Maybe even one like the spicy V8!

Go for dark chocolate! Supposedly heart healthy. And if you love chocolate, removing it from your diet isn't a good plan.

I'm hypothyroid and I juice, the juicing never makes me feel like that. I do however get that jittery energy when I've recently changed my levothyroxine dosage or even changed the time that I took it. When's the last time your medication was adjusted? Have you switched from taking it in the mornings to night or vice versa?…

I juice every day. Have a cup in front of me at the moment actually!

Fully agree with this. I've been doing research for the last several months and have been slowly transitioning into a whole foods, potentially vegetarian or vegan diet. (Haven't quite figured out that last part. I'm not sure what life would be like without eggs or cheese!) I've done the green smoothies for quite a few…

Love it! Yeah, I'm 21, anyone's welcome to add me!

Is the OP still active on this post? I'll take an invite if she is.

That sounds about right, especially at the speed and duration you're going. Biking really does burn a lot. Can't say anything about the running though, just not my thing!

I'm 21 with very similar goals. I'll add you.

Added!

I've done a lot of reading on thyroid issues since I started having problems. My best guess would be that you had a bout of hyperthyroidism, your thyroid was showing up as inactive because it was finally getting the message that you had an abundance of thyroid hormones and didn't need anymore. Many times, an occurence of…

I've had a lot of different symptoms come and go for the last few years. Everything from sleep to problems with my menstrual cycle. It normal creeps in, where I'll just start feeling a bit depressed and start sleeping a bit more. And I'll blow it off as, oh, I guess I'm depressed about life, and depressed people sleep…

Are you looking for green smoothie recipes or just typical fruit smoothies? I've been doing green smoothies lately to get more veggies in during the day. Here are my 2 favorites. 2 pears, a handful of raspberries, 4 or 5 kale leaves, 2 cups of water. Couple handfuls of spinach, a few peaches, normally like 4 big ones, and…

Well, my suggestion isn't about the seat, but rather about pants. They make special biking shorts that have padding in them to make the ride a bit more comfortable. Haven't tried them myself, but my friend raves about them.

EXACTLY. Oh my, when I went off my birth control, my libido was out of control! It did settle down a bit though haha. Had some cramping, which was entirely new to me. Never had them before.

Friends, with tall people? Shockingly, I am too. I'm 5'2" and 21. Add me if you'd like.

Congrats on your new start! Having a strong support system like MFP is so important. Please feel free to add me.

Hey there! So, I've been dealing with the thyroid thing for two years now. I was originally placed on levothyroxine for 6 months. Then my endo decided to take me off to see if my thyroid had bounced back since I didn't have hashi's. During that time, I was able to lose 20 lbs with hardly any effort. Unfortunately that…

This is exactly what I would have said. Vitamin defiencies and thyroid problems are 2 major causes of fatigue. When my thyroid is off, I end up sleeping 12 hours a night. Go get some blood work done, see if that's the problem.

Hey all, I'm 5'2", 21 years old. Been struggling with thyroid problems the last couple years, now I'm trying to get into a healthier life style. Feel free to add me!

I agree with vienna_h, it is strange to have a reaction to whey protein if you don't have a problem with milk. Do you have any sort of intolerance with milk? If not, look at the other ingredients in the powder to see if there's anything in there that you've had problems with before. Different brands will have different…

So, the T3 and T4 are the hormones that your thyroid produces. The TSH is the hormone that tells your thyroid whether or not it needs to put out more hormones or not. So, when your TSH is high, that means that your body is telling your thyroid to produce more T3 and T4. The ideal TSH level is slightly different for…

Yeah, weight gain has been a problem these last couple months. Doesn't matter how much I work out or how big a calorie deficit I manage, I'm still gaining instead of losing. The only reason I went for the break was simply because there is no explanation for why I'm hypo. Doc thought maybe it was just some random…

Yes! My bike is my best friend. It's great being able to ride again now that it's warm out. Feel free to add me, could use some biking friends.
