Green shake with banana, romaine lettuce, kale, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries mango, and lemon. Mmmm! (Yeah, it was kind of pink colored, but there was at least 1/2 head of lettuce in my portion!)

Great way to change your habits! I've been a fast food addict on and off, myself ... it's a hard habit to break.

Congratulations!!

Awesome job! Congratulations to you. I've just barely started the c25k program barefoot, thanks for the encouragement!

The tooth-brushing idea totally works for me at night. At work, I eat almonds for a snack - but I eat them so slowly that my 7 almond snack lasts a good 30 minutes. It's a talent!

Somestimes my front page gets overcrowded and I have to make decisions about who I *really* want to keep track of - it's nothing personal, but if I don't know you very well or if you haven't logged on in a while AND I don't know you very well, you're likely to lose me there! I don't think it sends out nasty notifications…

Great job, keep it up!

What I like to do is take 20-30 minutes while dinner is cooking (easier if my hubby cooks, but still doable if I throw something in the oven) and do my strength / circuit-type training in the living room. It's a simple workout, and I usually have a good appetite afterwards!

How about kale chips? I haven't had them yet, but they're highly recommended by some of my low-fat-consuming friends!

I'm gonna vote for swimming, too. :-D There, now we're ganging up on you!

I would definitely recommend that you do some other exercises than walking to tone areas - the way my trainer explained it to me is that there are several steps to getting healthy. The first step is working on your diet. Next step is adding basic cardio workouts to your regimen. Then you add weight lifting. After that…

I'm only here because my mother commented! You can't blame me for wanting to see her response! :-D

Congratulations!! Amazing job!

Woot!

That's awesome! Congratulations!

Great idea!

I'm with you, every time I see pictures of myself I get depressed. Some of the things I tell myself to keep on top of it are: #1. You always look worse behind a lens - remember the old saying the camera puts on 10 lbs? #2. When you're in a picture, you're not moving / breathing / engaged the same way, it's easy to capture…

lol, very funny!

I think that yes, it can be attributed to the distribution some, but height is also going to make a big difference in how much your weight loss changes your sizes right away. I lost 20 lbs (I've gained three back, working on that!), but I didn't really go down a 'size' in anything, just my clothes started fitting better.…

As long as you're getting plenty of rest and still eating healthy foods, a little exercise won't hurt. It will probably help clear your breathing a little. Drink lots of tea and if you feel too stuffy sit in a steam-filled bathroom for a while, that can loosen things up!

If you've never prepared it before, you may not be aware that most people don't eat the whole stalk you find in the store. You're supposed to take the bunch, rinse the stalks, and then take each stalk by the ends and bend it. It will snap off naturally towards the stem end. Then throw the stem ends away and cook the…

Turkey stuffing. I don't like soggy bread, or anything that tastes yeasty. My optimum bread is at least a day old. Also, I don't like bread pudding or tiramisu.

As a general rule, the slower you lose the better you'll be able to keep it off. If you're not comfortable with how fast you're losing, it wouldn't hurt to drop to 1 pound a week. Also, since it doesn't sound like you want to lose that much, you won't want to mess too much with how much you're eating. To avoid bouncing up…

My family tends to weigh more than they look like, especially my mother and sisters who are thin & workout all the time. Part of it is muscles, but part of it is heavy bones. Believe it or not, my siblings and I had a really hard time learning to swim when they were little because they sank so much ... heavy bones! Crazy!

I"m so sorry to hear about the struggles you're going through right now. I can identify with several of them, and I understand how frustrating and stressful it can all be. I'll be praying for you, and hopefully your husband will wake up to what's going on and start doing a better job at taking care of himself and you. <3!

I generally try to have a snack around 11am and then hold off lunch until around 2pm. That way, if I eat a small snack such as a carrot or some almonds around 4 or 5pm, I can easily hold off dinner until after exercising at 5:45. I hope that helps!

Ohhhh, I hate ants. I have ants and MICE in my house. We had mice last November, so I got a cat, and he killed or helped to kill three of them. But I found one on the countertop the day before yesterday, and my husband found droppings in all the drawers he so carefully disinfected last month ... ugh. Ant traps haven't…
