  • Thank whoever(s) suggested this: This is the first time I have tried non-dairy frozen desserts and it is SO GOOD. I could be a vegan. I'll just sit and eat these all day until I can audition as first vegan on My 600lb Life.
  • I weigh daily if I am trying to lose weight. I'm not really right now, so every 2-3 days, I'll step on the scale and see if I'm still doing OK and adjust if I notice the trend seems to be going too far up or down.
  • I dunno. Heavy cardio seems to depress my appetite.
  • I don't track gum. It has zero effect on my weight.

  • I use PB Fit that is sold at Costco. I carefully reconstitute it to the consistency of normal peanut butter and then to me, I don't see any difference between it and regular peanut butter except this has way less calories. I'm never going back to regular peanut butter.
  • Overthinking it. Personally, I have no reason at all to believe that the protein content of my yogurt is significantly different than commercial yogurt. Not only that, I use the calories given for 227g of commercial yogurt as the calorie value for my own yogurt at the same weight and I have not had any issue with my…
  • Bingo. Things that are vegan: Plant based oils and shortenings Oreos Non-dairy chocolate Cashew cream Veganaise Sugar Bread Falafel (assuming egg isn't used to bind) Vegan ice cream Nuts and nut butters Avocados Coconut French fries I like basically all of those things, so I'd probably manage to be an obese vegan. Gimme…
  • TBH, I don't even try to figure out the calories for what I am deep frying at home. I just save the fryer for two things: 1) Friday night when IDGAF. 2) Falafel. I know you can bake, but I prefer frying it. I only deep fry maybe 1-2 times a month. It has never stood in the way of my weight loss or now maintenance.
  • Yes. They suck and so the opposite days where I feel bloated and don't really have a huge appetite, but I had planned a great meal I was looking forward to for days. I don't understand hunger at all. Best one is when I down 3000 cals one evening and wake up the next morning starving. Not mental hunger, real physical…
  • Right now, it is steak and horseradish cream pizza and roma tomato, basil, and goat cheese pizza. For dessert, I take these 50 cal wraps and fill them with Nutella or PB2 and crushed Oreos or mini chocolate chips. My god, this is awesome.
  • I like cashew milk the best. It tastes way better in coffee and tea than almond milk. Almond milk is disgusting in coffee.
  • Right now it is usually... Skyr with fruit or Pasta Zero with spicy ginger garlic sauce and steamed Kirkland brand stir fry veggies or cabbage based salad with bell pepper, onion, grilled veggies and sometimes grilled meat with Bolthouse Farm's avocado and cilantro dressing.
  • My husband and I found a winning dessert combo recently. Take: and fill with: or and mini chocolate chips or smashed Oreo minis (if you like, worth it, for the record...) and it is INCREDIBLE. There is something about the texture of the wrap when combined with either the reconstituted peanut butter or Nutella that makes it…
  • I think I will have to pick up the salted caramel cluster on Thursday!
  • I bought these at Costco, but I decided after doing the math that they were not worth it and am taking them back. I figured that the pancakes I make myself are basically the same number of calories and grams of fiber. Less protein, but I always eat egg whites or skyr with my pancakes so sort of a wash. They tasted OK, but…
  • The kind you make yourself. I make all my own Greek yogurt and skyr with my Instant Pot. I have full control over the quality and quantity of ingredients. It takes very little actual effort to make. I think the first time I made yogurt myself I instantly felt ripped off/stupid for having paid so much for it in the store…
  • I make my own non-fat Greek yogurt and skyr. I strain mine until it is nearly the consistency of a brick of cream cheese. Then it is just eating pure protein basically and it will fill you up like you just ate a box of rocks for a very reasonable number of calories.
  • No, but I am going to be honest and say I only choose to eat Arctic Zero/Halo Top/Breyer's no sugar added on the basis of calories alone. The fact that AZ and HT have fiber and protein is really a secondary concern, particularly since I go over my protein and fiber macros basically every day anyway.
  • I confine booze to Fridays and special occasions. I drink to get buzzed as much as I like the taste. Getting buzzed is dangerous because I really like to eat...a lot...when I am buzzed. So yeah, definitely cannot be an everyday thing for me. Plus booze is outrageously expensive in my state. I think it is the highest taxed…
  • Way easier in the late spring/summer/early fall because all I do is grill and there is so much fresh fruits and veggies in season to choose from. In the late fall/early winter, it is a bit more difficult with Thanksgiving/Christmas/NYE, but not unmanageable.
  • I run for food. I had to cut back because my left knee is not having it after a mile or two in. Instead, I am forced into doing lower impact incline walking. Usually 8-9% at 4.5ish MPH. It burns around as many calories and time seems to drag, but do what I got to do.
  • Halo Top is really good for what it is, but like Arctic Zero, it isn't ice cream. It is an ice cream like frozen dessert. I think you can do just about as good for cheaper going with Breyer's Sugar Free line.
  • I thought about getting another pint of Halo Top last week, but I got lazy and cheap. At Fred Meyer, they had this: Way cheaper and the difference was only 20 cals a serving. It actually isn't that bad and I will probably buy this again. When I was at Fred Meyer, I also saw this in the freezer: 190 cals a serving. I…
  • Well you probably are never going to know for sure, but you can deconstruct it a little. Was the burger itself big or small? Was the bun big or little? Was it buttered? Was there mayo/aioli on it? Was there cheese on it? Because of things like the above, you can't assume that just because something is vegetarian, it is the…
  • No, and it annoys me when I have to pay tax on my Coke Zero.
  • I finally found Halo Top at Haggen. They did not have birthday cake, but they did have vanilla bean and lemon cake and I bought them both. Holy god, you all were right. Halo Top blows Arctic Zero right out of the water. I thought both flavors were good and when I go grocery shopping on Thursday, I'll pick up the chocolate…

  • So go to the gym and recommit to your diet. There is no time like the present. I would also discourage banning or forbidding foods. It only encourages binging behavior, IME. My house is full of chips and chocolate and cooking oil, but I don't have any need to stuff them down my throat just because I opened up the pantry…
  • Just use logic for a second: if starvation mode is a thing, how are there people that die of starvation? Also if you were a starvation mode snowflake, I think scientists and venture capitalists would want to study you. Somehow you are magically running on energy you never put into your body. Imagine a car that needed no…
  • Yeah, he described the mac and cheese inside as mushy basically. I like al dente mac. I can't stand mushy pasta in any form.
