  • This is hard for me, but I have to think about the long range goal. If I look at it on a daily basis, I get real discouraged. Good luck. I really hope it gets better.
  • My last week was bad. I didn't keep my diary. So, I planned to get back on track this morning. The only way that I could was to plan ahead and not give myself any options but to stay within my calorie goal for today. However, I went over about 100 calories because I made a mistake by not checking the calories in my supper…
  • I am with you. A year ago, I had lost 25 lbs and have gained 20 of it back. Forty lbs is my goal. Good luck to you.
  • This is a good thread. I restarted the Couch to 5K program last week. During W4 I had to stop running because of an injury. This morning I completed W2D1, and it went well, much better than the first time. This is a part of an effort to lose weight, which I have lost 20 lbs and have another 20 to go.
  • I understand your frustration. Several of the people that I know who are losing weight are going to a local doctor. He is providing a hunger suppressor along with some information. They look great. Me, not so much. I almost quit my diet, when I went to the doctor for my yearly physical, and I had lost 14 lbs in about 8…
  • Congratulations. You will make it by staying the course. Don't push yourself beyond what the program recommends. Also make sure that you do other exercises and stretching. I did more than I should have and ended up with plantar fasciitis. Now I am sidelined for the next few weeks. I was at W5D2, but I was in terrible pain.…
  • What kind of curved bottoms do you mean? I am so ready to get back to running. Thanks everyone for your encouraging comments.
  • No, I have never worn flip-flops. Couldn't stand that strap between my toes. I really think that it is my shoes though. My son works at a sporting goods store and talked me into getting some Asics, which I believe are good shoes; however, they aren't for me, at least for running. Oh well, in a couple of months I will make…
  • Good afternoon everyone. I am going to have stop C25K for a while. Plantar fasciitius is tough thing to overcome. I have tried to take off a few days from any exercising, but it keeps coming back. Sometimes it is worse than ever. It is very discouraging, but I would rather take a break than run the risk of permanent…
  • I had to go back a week because I took off to give some aches time to heal, so I completed W4D1 this morning. It actually went pretty well. The last 5 minute run seemed to last forever though. It was encouraging to know that I could still run that far after taking a break. lazybumnomore, first things first. That is a great…
  • annied16, I have had better luck at repeating a week than pressing on. You might give yourself the weekend to regroup, since you have quite a bit going on. It is frustrating to feel like you are going backward, but it seems to me like the next week that I come back stronger. I have had to pause my running for a few days…
  • Good morning! I made it through W5D2; however, I will be doing that one over. Toward the end buzzards were circling over head. I don't if I looked like I was dead or if I looked like I was dying. Either one is not good. Seriously, I need to run this day over at least one more time, if not two more times. Got compliments…
  • Good Morning!!! Just finished W5D1. I had planned to return to W4 this week, but decided to give it the old college try. I made it. W5D2 looks a little a scary. Running for 8 minutes is a far cry from 5 minute runs, which I thought were plenty tough. It is good to see others joining our group. Everyone please keep posting…
  • Finished W4D3 this morning. I think I better do this week over like I said before. Again, my breathing wasn't the problem, but my legs felt like cooked spaghetti. Ran in a more hilly area, so that may have something to do with it. Have a good weekend everyone! Good running!
  • melissa_w, I don't know how to open up my diary. I have done some research since posting earlier. During this weekend I am going to review my eating habits and try to begin planning. My calorie intake goal may be a little off, so I am going to try to come up with an accurate BMR. This is difficult because several different…
  • Thanks everyone for your input. Your encouragement and advice is very helpful.
  • I agree GuamGrly about feeling better the second week. I was just wondering if I were not pushing myself hard enough. Although I have repeated W1 and W3, and now I am going to repeat W4. Well, sometimes it is better to be the tortoise instead of the hare. mindiejean, I think that it is awesome that you ran so well without…
  • Good Morning! I did it!!! I made it through the first two days of W4. It was not easy, but it did not win. This week was really scary for me, and I may have to repeat it. Is anyone else having to repeat the weeks? This time I did not have trouble with my breathing, but my legs got more rubbery as I went. jezzi4ever, you…
  • I understand about the time. The best time for me to run is around 5:30 a.m. each morning. I have to drive an hour to my work, so I lose two hours each day during the week. The problem is that I am not really a morning person, so every morning is a struggle. You can do it!!! I truly believe that where there is a will,…
  • mindiejean, this is all you have to do to join. Hope it is helpful to you. annied, I know how you feel. I finished W3D3 for the second time this morning. You and I are together about the full run. It has me pretty nervous, too. Actually, I am kinda nervous about W4. Hope everyone has a good weekend!
  • I am finding that breathing is one of the most critical parts of my running. I have listened to everyone on how to breathe, and it wasn't working. I was told to breathe through my nose only, inhale through my nose and exhale through my mouth, etc. This site, http://www.ehow.com/way_5171780_proper-breathing-running.html ,…
  • This is great!!! As we can see, there are a lot of us. Let's work together to make it through the C25K and possibly on to bigger and better things. This is a short note, but after doing a little research, I have found a couple of websites that will help with the running. I will post them later. Good running and fitness!
  • Hi MrsSuperK, Hope things are going well. I have had a up and down week, but overall up. Hope yours is all up. Good Luck!
  • Finished W3D2 for the second time. Did much better, however, I adjusted my breathing, so that may have been the problem. Going to research this so more. Feel like maybe I can move forward. Going to complete all of W3 for the second time though. nisiham, I am going to start a new thread. Never done it before, but here goes.…
  • Good morning to you. Great reading. We all know those things, but we don't put them into practice. Will be looking forward to future quotes.
  • Good Morning. Just completed W3D1 for the second time. Took 3 days off from any exercising to give everything a chance to recover. Good for the recovery, but bad for the exercising because I barely made it through the second 3 minute run. Maybe later this week it will get better. I hope others continue posting to this…
  • Thanks for the input on stretching. The other day I ran without stretching, and I seemed to be struggling more. I will look into the website and dynamic stretching.
  • I do stretch before and after I run. I also take two fish oil capsules everyday. Haven't started glucosamine yet. I used to take supplements, but I wasn't doing any exercising, so it seemed unnecessary. It is time I start taking them again. Thanks nisijam.
  • Just finished W3D3. Instead of running at the track this time, I ran down a side street with no traffic and several short hills. Not bad, but I think I will repeat this week, if nothing else to give my joints some time before going to the next level. I go to a conference in FL on July 23rd. Don't want people to look at…
