Same here. I lost over 100 2 years ago and job changes and such gained 80 back. I'm not back on the wagon and trying again.

Yea, I think so. Did not do too much damage and I scratched that itch.

Started with a goal to not have carbs. Did not follow through on that one.

That's a good question. To my surprise I was only up about .4 lbs but my body fat dropped by .5%. At 1940 cal a day I'm sort of in a holding pattern weight wise but my body fat continues to drop. By lifting heavy I'm gaining muscle and dropping fat. Once I get down a few more bf% I'll cut calls again and drop down to my…

I don't know what this is. But I know I want it. [/quote] I'm not sure what it was either but it was awesome!

I had one. My daughter had the other three.

Wow, that's a huge drop for one month!

I noticed after I had lost about 50lbs I got more looks and smiles. Strangers, esp women, smiled and were friendlier to me. At first I thought I was imagining it but after watching closely for a while it's real. I also noticed how easy has been for me to judge those that have not yet made the connection and continue to…

The graph is about a month late. I did not start it until Feb but I started MFP in Jan. I started with a -1000 a day deficit and MFP reduced my calories every few weeks. When it got down under 1700 I changed the deficit to -750. When I get back down to under 1700 a day Ill change the deficit again to -500 and so on until i…

I've had that happen before to (but not as much lately.) I've often wondered what caused it.
-
Thanks all. I've thought about changing the setting but at 250lbs I don't think I can call myself 'athletic' just yet. :-) I might try it and see what happens. For the last 6 months I've used this method to set my deficit: I started with -2lb a week and used MFPs calculations. With every 5lb lost I reset the goals and got…

All good suggestions and mostly what I suspected. I use a Fit bit scale to measure body fat. I know that it may not be 100% accurate but at least it gave a base line and even if the number to start with was not accurate a + or - would be relative to the baseline (even if the baseline was not correct). I've considered that…

Rock climbing happens at Cito and it's not incredibly challenging. A basic level of fitness will get you by. Basically of you are fit enough for the back country you can do it. Enjoy your trek and take lot of pictures.

and third set done. So there it is; 18 minutes. I eat lunch at my desk for 12 minutes and still have time for 18 minutes of stairs all day. So now even if I can't run tonight because its raining or just don't feel going to the gym to swim laps at least I did something today.

Second set done
-
LOL! Posted this after my 'first' round of office stairs today. I do 3 sets of 6min at a time so I get 18min a day before I even get home.

It works. I told the Dr yesterday that if I had know it would be this easy i would have done it years ago. Consistency is the key. You have to log everything and be brutally honest about it (even if you go over) and you will see results. For me, changing the macros to 40/30/30 (carbs, protein, fat) made the biggest…
