I seem to be losing quite well even saving some extra calories I haven't eaten during the week for the weekend as I know that's when I will appreciate it more.

The question was why are some answers so hostile, the comments followed that. It may be helpful to the OP to realise they are not alone others have encountered hostility too.
-
We will as ypu say have to agree to differ as I have seen people chased away from the forum, supportive forum would never allow that to happen.
-
In my experience this is a hostile forum, we should be supporting each other not being so nasty. But some seem to want to tell everyone what to do and not support and help.

It was my doctor who suggested 1200, my dietician suggested 1000, I hover somewhere between the two most days, occasionally down as low as 700, life or death. No competition really.
-
I don't have any problem with any of this if people just didn't apply what works for them across the board, I am not tall, I am fat, I am disabled, I need surgery they are denying me because of my weight. If I need to drop to 1200 or less to get the surgery I will happily do so. Without the surgery I could be dead so the…

What helps me is to get up and go for a walk with my dogs, out in the fresh air I always feel better. Another thing I am doing is accepting I cannot make everyone happy and just being me for a change, takes a huge amount of stress off me and stops me being so emotional with my food.
-
Only goal I have is to feel better how I look has never worried me. I feel better already nearly 40lb down has been a big help. If you can eat more great, I initially tried what was being suggested and started putting weight back on. It didn't work for me. All I am really trying to say is we have to do what works for us…

I'm not losing fast at between 1lb and 2lb per week that is not fast. And I need to lose it as soon as possible when you are waiting for an operation you can't hang around for years.

Lol so a woman who is disabled to the point she cannot move some days has more similarities than differences with a marathon runner ? No I think not. Unless you know/ see / really understand a member no one should tell them what they should be doing. By all means share your own stories but telling everyone to do the same…

As they do not know me or inhabit my body how can they say it's bad ? How can anyone say what is right for anyone else ? by all means tell your own stories but don't assume that it will or won't work for everyone. Future problems I'll face when I get there, what I trying to through at the moment is past problems. Eating…

No magic pills just keep slogging on which is where I have always gone wrong before, I haven't felt this good in many years, this site is supposed to support people but it seems anyone not doing what some of you are is made to feel they are doing something wrong, to me support would be help them if it goes wrong not bash…

I agree with you, and also if 1200 is so bad why does MFP recommend that for some of us ? Also why does my nutritionist and Doctor also recommend it ? I know what's working for me and I am carrying on that way.

I'm within 200 cals anyway. I come from the era when 1000 calories a day was a diet and what everyone aimed for all this eating more to lose makes little to no sense to me. But if it works for people then that's fine it just doesn't work for me.
-
Not everyone eats up to their daily allowance and some eat over it I guess. I never eat my allowance as I believe it is set too high and know my own body best, no setting for disabled people who can't move around much some days.
-
Briefly but when you start paying for them you realise you can make up a box of your own for a lot less money and calories. I swear the boxes cost more than the ingredients sometimes.

As a disabled person losing weight with no exercise is pretty much as much as I can do. I'm pretty sure I will reach as high a potential as I can though luckily I don't see it quite like the OP or I might just give up and I have come too far to do that.
-
I assumed I was speaking for myself not telling anyone else to do what I am doing. The original question is what I answered nothing else.
-
All I am going to say on this is my diet is working for me I lose between 1lb and 2lb per week depending if I can walk or not. Really you don't know anything about me, disabled people need to eat less as with my disability I cannot exercise. I am not suggesting anyone else copy me I was saying what I do.
-
About 200 less than what MFP suggests for me so 1000 instead of 1200 calories.

Breakfast Dinner Supper snacks usually snacks are just drinks like hot chocolate

Yes and I was stunned at how off I was with guessing the portion !
-
I used to think I couldn't lose weight, but weighing food makes a huge difference to me, when I cut a piece of cheese I suddenly realised as I weighed it I was eating far more calories than I imagined I was.
-
I must be alone then, I have been busy altering what I can, putting elastic in waists and belt hoop on skirts so I can belt them. Darts in tops and belted my coat and jackets. Only things I can't do anything about no one would want - undies.
-
I can't sleep when I am hungry so always keep some calories for the evening and have supper about 9pm.
-
I am finding this site fantastic for this problem I divide my calories between 3 meals and plan the day ahead before I go to bed the night before. I then only eat what I have planned. Temptation is getting better, could have eaten a box of chocolates last night but wasn't even remotely interested ! That has never happened…
-
I am eating when I am hungry now and find late evening is when I am most hungry so keep a nice portion of my daily allowance for then.
-
Doctor tells me 1,300 calories, MFP tells me 1,280. I eat what I need to not be hungry and lose a couple of pounds a week and it is just a shave over 1000 calories a day. Despite people saying every one isn't different I think we are, I am very unfit, sedentary I just do not lose when I eat above 1,300 calories. Some would…

Weekly no matter what, being honest with myself is working and is extremely important and where I have gone wrong before.

Sugar and cut down massively on bread, I used to bake (and loved it) but don't do that any more. There is a positive side though as I have more energy and don't have loads of washing up to do ! lol
