  • Well, she's 19 and married...so that may explain.
  • Sherry...that was exactly my thought! Yesterday I heard a woman admire another woman's hairdo. Then she proudly said 'My husband won't let me cut my hair, if he would I would wear it like yours'??? I was astounded. Thought I had been rolled back to the 50's! Anyway...weigh what is best for you! PUHLEASE!
  • .5 cup ff milk, .5 cup ff greek yogurt, frozen fruit...pineapple, banana, strawberries, peaches....your choice. Natural and delicious! I take fresh fruit, chop and freeze, always ready. No chemicals or additives.
  • Hi! I am 65 yrs young, quite different from you! About 10 yrs ago I moved to Florida and had NO swimming stamina. I got some styrofoam water weights and would just do jumping jacks, etc. using them and sometimes used them to hold me up swimming. Anyway I have now progressed to swimming, albeit just the breast stroke or…
  • anI make a soup...can of diced no salt org tomatoes (pureed), 1/2 cup dried cannelini beans, soaked and cooked, 2 carrots diced, 1/2 diced onion, 4 diced cloves garlic, 2 stalks celery diced, 1/2 c pasta(i use gluten free rice pasta), 2 T basil, 2 T oregano, 1 t crushed red pepper flakes.....very low calorie...the veggies…
  • This probably won't help because it sounds like you eat on the go, but...have any of you tried the 'thin prepared pizza crust' at Whole Foods. (called 'Top This") It comes in Whole Wheat or regular...a whole12" pizza crust is 600 cals. I usually have 1/4 and a salad, but even a whole half is doable. When you add the…
  • I'm so jealous. Have to limit salt so, limiting Hot Sauce, too. I may make some though, that way I can control the salt!!
  • A woman I know had to lose for Surgery and she went to Weight Watchers. Many on W/W track here on this user friendly site. Anyway, once she followed a good food plan and began to exercise, she began to lose. She has now lost over 100lbs and has met her goal. She never did go the Surgery route. My niece, that I rarely see,…
  • I agree with you Mary. My sister-in-law is very thin and basically eats very unhealthily, although she wouldn't describe it that way. She is on several meds for B/P, Cholesterol, etc. I have always eaten relatively healthy but BMF and I have hit alot of Happy Hours and dinners out over the last 5 yrs, so I need to lose…
  • What does 400 net mean? For ex: 1200 cals but work off 800 so net 400?
  • Who cares what the message is meant for fish, whatever. If it comforts, motivates and validates people to go to the gym and feel comfortable, mission accomplished. Often I use the treadmill right downstairs in my condo since I don't have to care what I'm wearing, etc. On the other hand noone at the gym is walking in my…
  • Eva my two sons were born 15 mos apart and I couldn't do too much with a newborn and 15 mo old. What saved me and kept me in shape was that after breakfast I piled them in the stroller and walked two miles around the block. Then, home for lunch and a nap. Then, off for a two mile walk again. It totally picks up your…
  • You can cook it in the oven or on the stove top. Braise the beef, meaning brown it on all sides, add some onion, garlic, tomato sauce, chicken stock or water, wine, whatever you have on hand that is calorie friendly. Simmer until it appears tender. I can't estimate that as it depends on the meat. Actually, if you cut it in…
  • That's funny, Bmstee. Probably the men were racing around smoking cigars, drinking it up and checking out the 'broads'. As long as the women didn't cross their legs...life was good. lol
  • Wow, Ed, good for you!! Great job!! You are true inspiration....I agree it is one day at a time, reinventing it every day. You must feel great....good job in saving your life!
  • I get all my water allotment in the form of Salada Decaffinated green tea. I drink about 64 to 76ozs per day. It is supposed to be good for your skin, too also, Cheryl Crow recommended it for cancer prevention.
  • Know what you mean...We had a lady moaning and groaning, 'I can't do this', 'You're killing me'....totally ruining our zenlike mood...lol. She didn't return...not what she wanted, I guess.
  • There's usually only one guy at any yoga class I've attended. I always think....'this guy is smart, knows what's good for him'. Check out 'Sting' he does yoga several hours a day...nothing funny about him!
  • Fantastic! The fact that you are getting so much exercise is the boost you need! I'm thrilled that I have lost 2.4lbs in 5 days. Starting today I will get back to my daily hour of swimming and add my three mile walks. That will give me the boost to have similar results! Keep up the good work!!
  • I make everything from scratch as I have to limit sodium. I just put each ingredient in the food tracker. If I make soup and all ingreds. come to 1200 cals and I have 6 svgs, I know each serving is 200 cals. I can delete my initial entries and add the adjusted measurements.
  • Here is the equivalent of packaged taco seasoning. 1 Tablespoon minced onion 2 Teaspoons chili powder 1 Teaspoon garlic powder 1 Teaspoon cornstarch 1 Teaspoon ground cumin 1/2-1 Teaspoon cayenne pepper salt to taste Stir to blend
  • I learned this trick a long time ago and it continues to work. When I get on the treadmill or anywhere I plan to walk, I walk for a minute or two on my tip toes. It must stretch the muscles so that I do not get shin splints. Prior to doing this, I had shin splints all the time, but this does the trick. Try it. Good luck!…
  • I don't think I would make excuses, they run out and ev entually look made up. My son quit and says, the truth, 'I've already had enough for two lifetimes, taking a break'! I say 'do whatever feels comfortable'. I've decided to try cutting my wine with seltzer, that way I can have a few cocktails, less calories! Also, 'I'm…
  • The recipe looks good and pretty healthy. I would sub chili powder, etc and eliminate the 'taco seasoning' packet which is all sodium. Check out the package. It would be a good 'super bowl dish'.!
