I have three little boys & I have to say that without taking some time to care for myself I would have gone totally lala !! My tips for survival would be ... Try to get out of the house everyday - even if its to the supermarket. Try & grab some time to shower as it does make you feel better & brighter and a happy mummy…

Arrrgghhhhh the evil & dreaded TOM !!! Stress about too many variables in my life around money, job ( I was made redundant) , my kids, my husbands health (he has renal failure) Being over tired is a massive trigger for me too - makes all of the above A LOT WORSE ! SO I breath deeply, draw a line and move on .........…

Wow I can totally relate to this - I have cycled through most of the eating disorders - borderline anorexia, full blow bulimia, overeating/bulimia is now the case hence being over weight. I tend to have 'cyclical' episodes and despite having seen a dietician /specialists in the past its not really ever helped. I know…

My sister gained 3 stone while on her first implant, as she was so hungry all the time - I can sympathise as well having recently changed from microgynon pill while made me either really sick or really hungry - I tried 7 weeks and gained 7lbs! Dr said it was the oestrogen and I am now on Loestrin which has a really low…

Hiya - it all depends what type & severity (i'm not a medical professional) however I had a mild cystocele after my first baby (6 yrs ago) It rarely bothers me now and I have 3 children all together and it hasn't gotten any worse with each child. I was advised to avoid high impact sports and focus on exercise which would…

Wow I REALLY needed to see this today - my start point is quite similar re. the 1200 kcals - now I'm around 1400 bit am going to calculate my TDEE -20% as my energy levels are really starting to drop (I have three boys under 6 I cant afford that at all!) I've sent you a friend request - hope that's okay x
-
What an amazing reason for making these changes ! you are looking great & I bet you loved ones appreciate the difference with all those fun family activities too :-) x

When I saw this thread I thought you meant lifting my children - I was like hell yes !! I lug around a 21lb baby most of the day, a three year old for around 20 minutes a day (30lbs) following various falls/bumps & grazes and a 5 year old (30lbs) when he wants a mega hug! Hmmm wonder what all of that lifting would be…

Pardon the pun but its like the elephant in the room. I kind of wish someone had said something to me, but then again I cant imagine saying something to someone else for fear of upsetting them etc. I think that while it is our own responsibility it is also the health care providers responsibility to highlight the dangers…

Hi - I can relate to the stress part of your story (and of course the wanting to be healthier) I too have quite a stressful home & work life, Hubby has kidney failure & on dialysis, three children 5 & under & I work full time in a pressurised job role (for a TERRIBLE EMPLOYER) & earn the main salary (so no hope of giving…

I lost around 60lbs a few years ago without exercise and was 'skinny fat' meaning I had rubbish muscle tone & wobbly bits ago go! I also didn't keep the weight off as it was mostly a starvation diet (1200 cals). this time around I am exercising and have noticed a massive difference in that I can eat a decent amount and…

Its not just what is 'seen' in the mirror but also what is 'felt' when viewing themselves or perceiving themselves. There is no one answer as it may be different for each person. I know for me when I under ate (many years ago) it was wanting to make myself smaller or disappear, not vanity. For others it may be a wish to…

:blushing: Meeeee tooo! had a few up & down weeks (life events, leg operation etc) and so have had a few days of MEGA binges and then 'normal' (healthy) the next day. The net result being that I have not gained or lost any weight so it seems to have had no impact. I would say that I'm not going to get carried away as…

I do if I know I have a 'special' event coming up so that I can factor in a few treats without going totally awry (sometimes works, sometimes doesnt) I'm also returning to work soon after a year off on maternty leave so am going to plan on a Sunday evening to keep me on track & make sure I have my fridge well stocked with…

Hi - I'm no expert but a lot of people use the scooby's calculator to factor their daily cal allowance which works on your TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) this factors in your exercise so you dont necessarily need to log it as well (that will help if you have a new bubba) - I'm not sure of the lonk but if you use the…
