I completely went of the rails yesterday

I don't know why but i just couldn't stop. I was hungover after celebrating a friends birthday the night before, it was sunny and i just gave up on everything for the one day.
i had some kfc chicken in the morning, a roast chicken for lunch AND a curry for dinner, including a few pints of cider.
i'm back on track today but will my day yesterday potentially ruin all the hard work i put in during the week?

Sounds like a good day to me. :drinker:
One day will not ruin your progress. I sincerely doubt that you ate 10,000 calories which is approximately what you would need to firstly meet your minimum goal and secondly gain 2 pounds after meeting that goal.
Just stay on track with your nutrition and exercise for the rest of the week and you will be fine. And don't stress over the scale. In fact, I recommend staying off the thing until the end of the week. Water weight fluctuations will cause you to go nutty.0 -

I think you'll find a lot of posts like this today. I did the same thing this weekend. I had date night with my fianceé, which consisted of a lot of cocktails, red wine, and a fancy dinner. The next day we were hungover so I made us some chicken mayo baguettes with crisps for lunch, (although I did go to the gym on Saturday and ate a healthy dinner), but then the weather was so lovely (a rare thing in Birmingham on a Sunday) so we had bloody mary's, beer, a meal, champagne all afternoon, and then we were so drunk/lazy by the time the sun went down that we ordered a takeaway.
BUT, that's all done now. I'm not going to feel guilty, because I've logged it for the world to see, and I'm going to watch what I eat today and go for a mammoth gym session tonight.
Don't feel bad. Don't restrict yourself from your life. Good times happen, don't feel bad. It most likely won't have affected your weight loss. If anything, it could've been beneficial as your body now has a lot of extra calories to burn, which it's not used to at the moment, so if you eat right and exercise, hopefully your body will continue at this rate. I read that this morning, I don't know how true it is, but I like the idea of it

I had a terrrible weekend too. But you need to look at it as the overall week. If you continue to do well for the rest of the week, 1 or 2 bad days won't set you back !!0

A had a day like this recently, except it was a week long. And I enjoyed every bit of it Now getting back to dieting and exercise tomorrow.0

Ah these replies are so nice and comforting to read!
It was just one of those days, the sun was out, a lot of my friends were out and i got completely lost in the moment. i had a lot of fun doing it though. as long as i wont balloon in weight, i wont stress about it.

You'll be fine, we all do it, once every now and then doesn't hurt, I have been emotionally fighting a blow out for two days, Trying to stop it before it happens, so badly want to sit and devour a crunchie bar and a hot chocolate!! Thank god there's none in the house. I'm hoping if i ignore it long enough it will go away! Good for you for having the courage to have one indulgent day, to own it and to get back on track. Pat yourself on the back, don't punish yourself ;-)0

Don't worry and let it go. My day yesterday was terrible - it was my birthday and the weekend started with a big meal on Saturday night with lots of alcohol and then yesterday I started out well with a really good (uphill) walk but then we ended up in a pub drinking beer shandy to cool down and the day went downhill from there - crisps, banoffee pie, bottle of champagne, wine etc etc. This morning I feel bleurgh - headache, dehydrated and bloated so it's back on the wagon.
It happens to us all - we wouldn't be human otherwise! And as others have said, it's really bloody difficult to undo a whole week's work with one day. Any lbs gained the next day are usually retention caused by salty foods and alcohol.0 -
:blushing: Meeeee tooo! had a few up & down weeks (life events, leg operation etc) and so have had a few days of MEGA binges and then 'normal' (healthy) the next day.
The net result being that I have not gained or lost any weight so it seems to have had no impact. I would say that I'm not going to get carried away as although I've not put on weight I do have that sluggish bleurgh feeling like a food hangover so am back on it today, even though I cant exercise very much.
lots of water & fresh foods, I also find soups help with the 'bloat'0 -
Meh, your day doesn't even sound that bad, you got protein in, you enjoyed your indulgence, and now you can enter the week with renewed fervor for your goals! I basically always go off a bit on the weekends, but it usually means Monday is a healthtastic day for, and by Tuesday morning I feel great again0
