  • For anyone familiar with it, I made Skyline with them last weekend. It was interesting. I got a brand off Amazon that was known for not smelling fishy and overall they were pretty inoffensive. They were a bit rubbery but it didn't immediately put me off. I'm going to try it again because I have three more packages of them.…
  • I'm a recovering picky eater, yes it DOES get easier eventually. I used to be totally against even trying things, now I will try almost anything once and I've discovered a lot of foods that way. The only foods that are on my "never" list are salad (yeah, I know...) and eggs. Here's my tips: Try food in low pressure…
  • My butt/legs/hips are losing way before everything else. It's actually very annoying because the legs of my pants are huuuuge but the band still fits, so I can't go to a smaller size. Now if I could get my boobs to actually change, it'd be a miracle. So tired of the DD status.
  • Well I didn't say I was eating unhealthy. Eating at maintenance =/= unhealthy eating. I also said that I'm still exercising.
  • That is an ADORABLE bathing suit. Where did you get it?
  • Well I just got back from Kohl's and it was kind of a nightmare. I found ONE bra in my actual size (44DD) and it was very uncomfortable. I found a few bras in 42DD. Couldn't be picky about style or size at all, but I found one that fit okay. Not great, but okay. It's possible I'll end up returning it. -sigh- clothes…
  • Ah TjMaxx, I didn't think of there. I didn't imagine they had large sizes. I went to Marshall's the other day for pants and didn't bother looking at their bras, either. Looks like I'll be shopping today. :)
  • I'm surprised at people saying they got bigger sizes at Walmart. I went there about two weeks ago and tried on a ton of bras and none of them fit right. The problem actually isn't my DD status, it's the large 44 band. I can squeeze into a 42 but most bras I find stop at 40DD. I still wear my sports bra but I'm spilling out…
  • That's okay. It was hard to find a sports bra but I managed to get one from Walmart that was a few sizes too small. I don't mind that for a sports bra, since everything needs to be tight, but I really want a well fitting normal bra. However, I did just check Kohls and -amazingly- they have my size! Holy frijoles! Not sure…
  • I've been creeping along the last month or so. I only lost 6 pounds in May and I'm back up 2 pounds from that. Worst part is it's my own fault. :( Running out of steam and trying to dig deep in myself to keep finding motivation.
  • I was about the same as everyone else, 15-20 pounds. Unfortunately my body seems to be wanting to lose weight from my hips, thighs and butt way before my waist, so I have to wear pants that are huge in my legs but still fit pretty well in the band. I've just about replaced all of my clothes from when I started. I did a lot…
  • I'm not even close to goal, but my ultimate goal is to buy a new wardrobe. When I was thinner I never knew how to dress myself and I'm looking forward to doing it right this time. But I'm thinking as a halfway goal I might join a competitive swim team. :) I was a competitive swimmer when I was younger and thinner.
  • Thank you! I will start there and we'll see what happens...
  • I would have to say it's more circuit style, my heart rate is up and my rest periods are pretty brief. I do a lot of cable machines in quick succession and am supposed to be kinda jogging between the machines. At the end of plan A I do 50 squats with 20 pounds raised above my head in free weights, and I can definitely say…
  • None of these bras come in my size. :( Am I the biggest freak in the world for having a 44 DD?
  • Eating small meals several times a day blows, but I still do it because of hypoglycemia, instead of weight loss. Eating small meals may not do anything for your metabolism, but it still helps insulin regulation.... Of course if I could get away with eating an entire pizza in one sitting, I totally would.
  • This happened to me the other day! I took some medication and forgot I'm supposed to take it with food. I started to feel really sick so I ate a bunch of peanuts super quick, hoping it would help. Well I ended up puking up everything 2 minutes later. I didn't count the peanuts.
  • Ironically I think they're okay if you aren't ACTUALLY using them as a meal replacement. I eat three meals a day and two snacks and I use the slim fast shake as one of my snacks. It's filling enough to get me from breakfast to lunch, and it's got an easy amount of protein and calories (sometimes I have peanuts instead, but…
  • I never thought of it this way, but that is a really good point. I think I was doing that a few times when I first started cutting my calories. I'm glad I stopped doing it because I feel a lot more satisfied.
  • I agree, and I think this might be what my doctor was trying to say. I had big problems with this before I started trying to lose weight. I have reactive hypoglycemia and if I went too long without eating (happened a lot when I worked in retail where food at the register was punishable by death, it seemed like) my blood…
  • I have reactive hypoglycemia which means that if I eat a whole sh$t ton of carbs in one sitting then my sugar is going to go nuts as a result. Really sucks for me because my favorite food is pizza and I can certainly put it away. I've done well from trying to keep all meals under 500 calories, adding protein all over the…
  • I need to lose a total of about 120 even though my ticker says 93. My first goal is 93 and then I might work on maintaining for a while, because I have my wardrobe from that weight still. Getting started was really hard for me, and I had a list of excuses (which I still view as valid, but I'm glad I don't use anymore)…
  • I don't think either one really matters more than the other for actually shedding pounds. Being healthy is another thing, though. The biggest thing I think is that you're just going to be more full if you eat "clean". Before I joined MFP I would eat a lot of pizza and mcdonalds and spaghettios and Kraft boxed mac and…
  • My boyfriend is just kinda absent minded more than openly challenging my diet. We went out to eat the other day and I told myself I wanted to have ice cream after the meal, so I couldn't have bread. I'm sitting there in a group of people not eating the bread and he goes, "you should try this bread! you would really love…
  • I think this is pretty true. I've gone down a size in pants but I can't even tell from looking in the mirror. Maybe if I kept wearing the too big pants then I might get some comments, but I went ahead and thrift shopped and pulled some old stuff out of storage. It would be unreasonable at this point to expect someone to…
  • Yes, this, seriously. I had some teenagers make fun of me once at my college because I was eating three pieces of pizza. Ever since I gained so much weight I have a weird embarrassment about eating in front of other people. I feel like I need to prove them wrong or something. Now I'm eating healthier but I still feel…
  • I keep mine hidden because I know I mess up sometimes and don't want to be judged. I mean if I eat 7 pieces of pizza one day, then I know why I didn't lose weight that week.. Don't need someone to tell me that.
  • I would only believe your doctor's scale if it was first thing in the morning, you'd gone to the bathroom, and didn't have anything to eat. Otherwise it will be a lot different.
  • Ah yeah, I do... they are all people I know personally. Never really thought about adding someone I met on MFP.
  • I actually keep a weight loss blog, too, but sometimes I put my personal thoughts about how hard it is to be significantly overweight or cruel things people have done to me since I gained. I know how the internet is so I haven't told ANYONE about it yet. Not even my SO who lives with me. I'm really afraid of having some…
