Question for those who had 100+ to lose

I've been at this for 130 days now and so far I'm pretty satisfied with the results. However the past couple weeks I've noticed myself inadvertently eating at maintenance instead of a deficit. I'm going through some really stressful times... we're struggling with our bills right now, and I'm job hunting really hard to try to help us out. I had five interviews in two weeks which was a hugely stressful ordeal. My boyfriend is finishing up his degree in a month, as well, and he's going to search all over the country for a job, so that's also looming over my head. And of course yesterday my car battery died and I was left stranded for an hour and a half until he could come jump my car. We have to pay for the battery with my credit card, so of course, more stress.
So what I'm asking is, for those who had a tremendous journey ahead, and over 100 pounds to lose, did you ever have weeks where you just took a break? Not a break from logging, or exercise, but from eating at a deficit? Reminder I'm in NO way talking about eating in "gain" territory. Just not in deficit.
I feel as though I see all these stories of people losing a very large amount of weight and it just seems so easy for them. They spent a year or two plugging away at it, and never took breaks, never stumbled... it's making me feel very discouraged because I'm faltering right now.
So has anyone else gone through this in their weight loss journey?

Honestly, for me, I feel so much better when I eat right and exercise. I am a returning college student, and this Spring was a really tough semester. I had the school stress plus a lot of the work and everyday stress. I wish I would have continued to eat at a deficit and such because instead of maintaining weight, I actually gained 15 lbs back. But, more than what the scale said, I felt like crap! My advice is just to keep up with what you're doing...to lose weight slowly and healthy. Life is not easy even when it appears it ,and it's far too easy for those of us who have a lot to lose to make excuses to let something slide here and there when it comes to our new healthy lifestyle.
I was at least 300 lbs at my heaviest. I am at 205-210 now and still have a bit to lose. But your health is something that is a lifelong journey. Surround yourself with friends and family (and MFP pals!) who will help you keep at it. Just go for a walk or something b/c I have found that is my best stress releaser! Good luck!0 -
Well I didn't say I was eating unhealthy. Eating at maintenance =/= unhealthy eating. I also said that I'm still exercising.0

Granted I've only lost 95 lbs so far with about 100 to go but I've been at it for a year and a half. When i Started I was at 402 and really did good for the first 8 months and hit a dead stop plateau at 345 I lost all motivation for a couple months and gained back 20 before returning to MFP this January. When i came back I started a little timeline on my profile to keep me motivated about the journey i started and the ultimate goal ahead. Losing definintly isn't race and something you have to do at your own pace. Just keep at it!0
