Got in two 5km runs so far. BUT I noticed yesterday that it was hard to walk - my right knee seems to be in some pain. Any ideas/suggestions? I am using a tensor right now and resting it until tomorrow.

I had the same problem, and once I started eating back my exercise calories, the weight flew off. It was a relief, and also nice to fit in some extra food ;)

I think that it's a completely individual thing. If you find it discouraging, then you need to start weighing yourself only once a week. I think most people don't like the idea of daily weight checks because it can cause an obsession with a number rather than looking at other factors, like how your pants fit, or better…
