Now that we are close to a new month, it is time for me to set some goals! My goals for the month of August will be: 1. Get under 85 kgs 2. Get a gym membership 3. Exercise 3 times a week 4. Stick to the foods I say I'm going to eat for the day 5. Try not to be too hard on myself What are everyone else's goals for August?…

Edamame! I love having 1/2- 3/4 cup with some black pepper midway through the day. Keeps the hunger at bay and a great source of protein! :)

I've had a pretty ****ty week. Been sick, stressed, and bloated. Here's hoping next week will be better! :)

I don't have cheat days so much as I have cheat meals. I eat healthy all week and if there is something I am absolutely craving, I wait til the end of the week and I have it. I make up for it by keeping the rest of my calories low(er) for the day and I make sure I exercise that day. It's worked for me so far... 17 kgs (34…

Great information thank you! Checked out the site and got some ideas. I'm not as low carb as you but as someone who has diabetes, I always look for lower carb solutions to higher carb meals. Have any other good links like that? Would you private message them to me?

I have tried raising my carb levels and even at the amount of calories I am eating (around 1400) I was gaining weight- over 1 kg this weekend (despite exercise). Not to mention the hunger feelings and blood sugar spikes. My diary is open to all. Feel free to take a look and give me any suggestions. :)

Mine is but I also looked at a website: www.mybodygallery.com to see approximately what I wanted to look like within the healthy range. I don't actually have a goal weight anymore as much as a goal look. I want to look and feel healthy and I don't care if that's 150 lbs or 130lbs. All I know is that it is NOT 220 lbs. LOL

Recently at New World I have found Laughing Cow Lite Cream Cheese squares. Each has 54 calories and can easily be spread over several crackers.. Super yummy and I can't tell the difference between these and other cream cheeses!

Yes, or buy a HRM and accept the flaws in the MFP system and correct them with the information from your HRM.

What we are missing is really how much weight do you realistically want to lose and in what time frame. I have 88lbs (40 kg) to lose. I am trying to lose it at the rate of 2 lbs a week (1000 calorie deficit). You are only at a 300 calorie deficit meaning you will lose less than a lb a week. Was this your intention? I only…

My husband and I are doing this as well. Our first event of this type. We work out at the gym 4 days a week and walk 6K twice a week now. We're walking it rather than running it. Good luck! :)

Well, you've all officially scared me :frown: Went in for my fasting BG test today as a follow up to my A1C... here's hoping they have better news for me. As far as a doctor, I am in New Zealand on a temporary visa that does not allow me to access their health system without paying everything out of pocket, so the less…

To help me get from one meal to the next, sometimes I use sugar free gum. My mouth is moving, I have fresh breath, and the calories are minimal. There are no foods that are no calories though, sorry!

I weigh myself quite a few times a day right now. In my defense though, I want to see what my body is doing throughout the day. I don't do an official weigh in but only once a week, on Thursdays because I am also involved in a Biggest Loser contest at work (which has now also extended to my personal life and my friends and…

Thanks for all the advice! I guess I am just scared that diabetes could be a slow death sentence for me. I watched both my grandparents die slowly from the diagnosis and the disease in general scares the hell out of me. I went to a doctor about 4-5 years ago who tried to tell me that my BG levels weren't good but I refused…

Thank you. I was getting confused because the nurse told me that anything above 50 A1C is diabetic but everything I found online said 53. I can now see why they are concerned. Dumb question (I guess): If I lose enough weight and stay active, is it reversible?

It is located under your goals section. It's how MFP decides how many calories you need to eat. Stick with it a week or two and if you don't see any chances, then post again for suggestions. You have to trust in the process. This is my second week and I've already lost 1 kg (2.2 lbs). It does work!!

Sometimes I use red curry paste, garlic, dijion mustard, and a little soy. The chilies in the curry paste are good for your metabolism. I also do a lot of lemon pepper seasoning as well to avoid the sodium. :)

Where in NZ are you? :)
