  • I got within 5 pounds of goal weight and STAYED THERE for more than a year.... SO. Then I upped my GOAL, thinking if I was ten pounds away from goal weight, it would trick me int losing 5. I am either too smart to be tricked by stupid me, or too dumb to be able to trick my clever self...one of those. It has been almost 17…
  • Edited because I hit post too early---I had two relatives get the surgery. Lost 150+ pounds skin removal. Looked great. Then they gained it all back, overcoming the surgery because they hadn't fixed the relationship with food..... I do not believe there is an easy button.
  • One of my favorite fitness experts JUST wrote a post about how to eat and train to lose exactly ten pounds while training for a marathon----SERENDIPITY! http://www.laineygossip.com/Smutty-Fitness-Marathon-training-and-weight-loss/Lifestyle/24336
  • Okay I actually love to exercise, and I hate Hate HATE moderating what I eat and logging and tracking. I want to eat ALL THE THINGS. I hate not eating them. I wish I was eating them right now, all of them, at once. SO I will make myself keep logging and practicing portion control of all the things, and you exercise. Deal?…
  • Did anyone say LAUGHING COW CHEESE yet? YUM, gets you some protein and it is delicious. I add my voice to the chorus of butter supporters though. I LOVE Kerrygold in a way that I think may be illegal in several states.
  • If most of your sugars are coming from Fruit, I would especially not worry. I agree with whoever said to Track Fiber instead. I have a HUGE sweet tooth, and I make sure I have room for dessert of some kind every day. Here is a GREAT dessert that satisfies my sweet tooth but also has a lot of good stuff in it:…
  • YES! I love radishes. Plain Yogurt
  • His shadow (AT the right time of day, anyway)
  • To me the cooking method makes a BIG dif; I cut the squash in half. You have to be REALLY CAREFUL and use a BIG OL KNIFE but if you can cut it in half and rub the olive oil on the insides, you get a nice roasty flavor that makes it marvelous. We like it best with kale and almond pesto or pecan and arugula pesto -- we make…
  • It is EASY -- From the HOME menu, choose the tab that says CHECK IN. At the bottom is a button that says EDIT PREVIOUS ENTRIES. This allows you to reset your starting weight. :)
  • AND I URGE YOU TO USE CAPS LOCK! :D
  • Sorry--it seems like you are going to get the MIGHTY WILL POWER PEOPLE pooping word poo and lifting up their lofty noses at you -- remember that what comforts some people is finding a person to feel "better than," and their snideness and their trope of JUST DO BETTER LIKE ME I AM BETTER is their secret shame. They have to…
  • True Statement: I go to the gym to eat. Well okay, I also really like the endorphins. True-er statement: I go to the gym to get high on endorphins and so that I can eat dark chocolate and have red wine at the end of the day. I don't see any other reasons to do it. * The best way not to overestimate your exercise calories…
  • I did too! It feels really good and I have NO PLACE to go now but down. :) Good on ya!
  • Yoga would be great for you! There are almost always multiple men in my classes.
  • Every morning, for all the same reasons as the others. But I only record a new weight when I have been consistently under it for a week.
  • I had this experience a long time ago.... First I felt bloaty and sloshy. Then I started peeing every minute of my life. Then my body got used to it and I stopped feeling sloshy and began peeing a reasonable number of times. Long term results included prettier skin and more energy working out. edit: fixed a typo
  • This. Trader Joe's has 7 g of fiber and 8 g of protein and is yummy.
  • Here are things that have worked for me 1) Save calories up all day for the thing you want most. Have it at the end of the day. WHen you want to eat transgressive bad foods all day, remind yourself the treat is there and you will get it at 7 pm or whenever. 2) BE FULL. Eat a lot of food. You can eat a lot more fruits and…
  • You can do a lot with clothes to make yourself look shapelier. I have the opposite problem -- I always feel like my boobs enter the room before me, and the my boobs are the LAST place I lose weight and I have broad shoulders, too. So I wear minimizer bras and V neck shirts and do other tricks with fashion to make my…
  • According to my old WW leader, a blog called 3 fat chicks, and my own experience, it is range of 10 to 15 pounds to go down a size, but I have also heard that it can be as much as 25 pounds to between plus sizes. The smaller the sizes, the less g weight between sizes, if that makes sense, so that going from a size 2 to a 0…
  • I have this too -- I use a lot of the strategies here, especially saving calories to have a bedtime snack. I don't like prescription sleeping pills, either, but melatonin WORKS, and you can get a huge bottle of it at the grocery store for a few dollars.
  • Steaming does not "take away the goodness" -- If you use a small amount of water and begin boiling it before you put the veggie son to steam you can minimize nutrient loss. But steamign is one of the best ways to cook veggies to retain more nutrients…
  • I am VERY busty----and the best thing I have found is YOGA! Bikram is about holding poses in stillness -- NO bouncing, but it is a workout WHEW! You can burn over 600 calories if you PUSH yourself and go deep (Heart Monitor does not lie) A strong FLOW yoga class with constant movement will also burn cals and get the…
  • Yuck Duck
  • Try some cheaper vegetarian forms of protein like Quinoa, pumpkin seeds and black beans----cheap and high in protein! Plus cottage cheese and eggs are not too dear.
  • Full size, 3 Musketeers is pretty low. Also York Peppermint Patties.
  • It depends on your height and frame. I am tall with broad shoulders and wide hips and a little waist---I have a large frame. When my BMI is around 23 I wear 8's and 10's depending on brand, and I look really fit. That's my goal, actually. If you are a very slight or petite person, you might where a size ten and have a BMI…
