  • Hi! Welcome aboard! I wish you the best with your journey. The best advice I discovered here is to find what works best for YOU. A lot of people subscribe to certain ways of losing weight and/or working out. They strongly believe that their way is the best way. It might very well BE the best way, for them. We are each our…

  • True. I've never tried/done drugs other than pot & alcohol.
  • Kinda true...I've never seen all of it although I've read it. I've never dated more than one guy at a time.
  • Portion control was how I went from ~200 down to ~170ish the first go-round years ago when I realized I was getting ridiculous. Then - Subway at lunch, foot long (heavy mayo, lotsa meat), chips, cookie, drink, and I would still be VERY hungry when I got back to work so I'd much on vending machine snack crap. Now - Six inch…
  • I sure can!!!! Way to go!!!! My hat is off to you, too, for having the balls to post it. Awesome!
  • Congratulations!! What a wonderful day for you! No advice or stories to share here, just genuinely happy for you! :)
  • I'm at the high end of the 160s, and will be happy getting to the mid/low 150s, but would be happy to join you on your way down to 120!
  • Congrats to you!!! I'm in a 14 now...cannot wait to have that same feeling you did with getting looser, looser, looser....then BAM into a new size! :)
  • You can add me! I'm almost 40. Two kids. One teen <<shudder>>. Always looking for like minds and those suffering the same things I am. :)
  • Congrats to you!!! Keep posting and typing about it. It'll keep your fingers busy and your mind engaged. I have smoked off and on for YEARS. I quit for good this time on Christmas Day. My gift to myself. It has been hard, but whenever I get a craving, I go through all of the reasons why I wanted to quit. That helps.…
  • Yup. On days I don't get a regular workout in, I try to do things like lunges to the bathroom & other stuff. I also will try to take breaks every hour and drop & do a couple of pushups or squats or something.
  • Wow. That sounds like a great start! I, too, run a computer all day. I work from home. What did you do to build a standing station? Not sure I have the room to do it, but I'd like the option. I like the accountability this website has inspired in me. Just this morning I dragged my night-owl *kitten* out of bed and did…
  • Your bottom is behind you, so focus on that. Always keep your bottom behind you. It sounds like you have come an amazing distance thus far. Focus on all you have accomplished and less on what you see as your failings. I also know that's easier said than done. It's easy for me to give you pep talks, right? Not so easy for…
  • Well...I'll be 40 in a couple of months...so the 30s don't want me. Maybe the 40s will?!?! LOL. I just hit my 25-in-a-row log in day....so I'm definitely trying to be consistent and supportive. I like the support myself. It's been great. Feel free to add me!
  • I hope no one skips to the punch line or on to the next poster. What an inspirational story!!! I would love to be pals with you if you have a desire for any more and want to add me. I could certainly learn so much from you! Thank you for sharing.
  • I know it's true...but reading it in black & white made me want to cry. <<sniff, sniff>> LOL. I hold most of my weight around my middle. Hence, my sadness.
  • Ok. I have to fess up and say that your screen name caught my eye before your post did (I read. A lot.). Having read your post, though.... my area is playing a commercial that really struck a chord with me. Scene: Women's locker room. One lady (normal, average looking) sitting on the bench. Enter: 3…

  • I'm always up for more friends if you want to add me. Warning, though...I have a highly sarcastic sense of humor. It's not for everyone. ;) Congrats on the 16 pounds. That's awesome!
  • You have my utmost admiration, and you shamed me. I had ice cream last night, and did not log it b/c I was ashamed of it. I am going back to add it. The good, bad, and the ugly. If I record the bad and ugly, it will make the good look that much better. I have binged, too, but am lucky that it's not on a regular basis like…
  • It's great to have you! And I think your motivation for healthier living is great. Best of luck to you and your dad. Feel free to add me if you want to expand your friend list for motivation and support. :) And good luck with the sodium. I didn't realize how much I was consuming until I started with this site. Some days…

  • Hi! I am 39...so feel I can contribute. I think the older you get, the harder you may have to work, but it certainly is not impossible. Great difficulty? No...not really. I feel better now than I did 10 years ago. Or even 15. I ran 3 miles twice last week, and didn't hobble around the next day either. :) I was over 200 at…
  • Oh my gosh YES!!!!!!!!!! It happens all the time. Less now that I feel like I've gained some control back. Seeing my days in "black and white" helps, I think. I can see what I'm doing. However, some days, when I put on a certain thing or jiggle during whatever workout...it's hard and I'm right back to feeling like Jabba…
  • Please add me if you'd like. I'll leave it to you in case there is something in my profile that doesn't strike the right chord with you. I'm sorry about everything you've had to go through, but admire your determination to tackle it head-on now that you have been cleared to do so. It's always so easy to say "oh, I have a…
