  • Surely a better detox is to just stop eating processed food?
  • I just woke my hubby up by giggling. Great read. Thanks
  • I have excluded sugar and gluten and the urge to binge has gone completely
  • To help you even more - you can refelct on what has passed - and look at what happended when you fell off the wagon - objectively so you can avoid that situation again -and recognise it and think of new ways to cope with it in a more positive healthy way. If you were feeling really down when you fell off - what else (apart…
  • I eat anywhere from 1500-2300 depending on how much exercise I have completed - so feel free to add me :-)
  • I am really sesnsitive to carbs and sugar - so when I lay off it, the weight comes off my stomach and love handles - could be something you could try - Abs are definitiely made in the kitchen :-)
  • Different strokes for different folks. The whole point of Dukan is it teaches you how to fuel your body for life by practicing better eating habits.. There is no "going back" to normal eating. What you call normal made you fat. Get it? You cannot eat like that ever again if you want to stay healthy. That's why it works.
  • I was a 40J and now I am a 36DD. Still more weight to lose so I'm guessing smaller boobies to come :-(

  • I'm 5ft 8 and at 140 I looked too skinny and people kept asking me if I was ill and I was freezing all the time. 154 looked awesome on me, I was slim, athletic with a few curves, really great for me. I have long arms and legs and broad shoulders. 20 years on. Will be glad to get to 170 from where I am at 181 and maybe…
  • I often want to cheer larger people jogging or cycling because I'm proud of them making the effort but don't want them to take it as a jibe or sarcastic, so I don't do it because I'd never want them to stop because they though they shouldn't be doing it, or are embarrassed or because of me saying the wrong thing. In fact I…
  • My breaking point was three things happened in the space of a week. I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic, I wasn't sleeping properly and felt exhausted all the time and that kept me feeling unable to cope with life's stresses (so I ate them), and when I heard some teenagers laughing and whispering very loudly that me and my…
  • You have inspired me to go heavy... I've been building my strength on free weights and circuits but I think it might be time to get the bar out! Awesome dedication. Nice job!
  • Yuk yuk yuk

  • Erm.... They were being sarcastic.....
  • I'm 41. I look 20years older with short hair, I get compliments every day on my waist length hair, I think older ladies with great condition hair look fab, and when I'm really old and wrinkly I can swish up what will be my grey locks into a sophisticated French pleat or a single French plat.
  • I'm 5ft 8 so feel free to add me :-) I'm 41. I used to be a yoyo dieter but I've made permanent lifestyle and food choices that are helping me lose slowly and I'm keeping it off with no effort. I like the way MFP people are supportive of permanent change and consistent discipline but not of denial, fad diets and…
  • Just call it circuit training. 25 mins of JM probably burns about 220cals - depends on your size and fitness and how much you throw yourself into it...
  • One week of strictness with zero tolerance for diverting from the path! Worked a treat.

  • Love this thread! I was sort of well known for my awesome rack! I used to make a feature of it when going out Alas it has vanished, I would describe myself as "athletic" now. Oh well.....
  • This is a excellent rate of loss. You can try to mix it up in your work outs, it's good to feel muscle aches after a good work out, (not pain) if you don't get out of breath or sweat, or ache then you need to do something different and get a sweat on. That really helped me off my plateau and I actually increased my lean…
  • I make up batches on Sundays. Today I will make stew, chicken chasseur and probably a quorn bolognaise. I box it up and have my own fast food all week. Salad is okay but I'm too lazy to prepare it and too tight to buy prepared salad from the shop.
  • Planning really helps me, I make batches of food on Sundays that last all week. I have control over the ingredients and really only make food I love to eat. It's my own version of fast food! As long as I eat enough good fats and protein I don't crave carbs. I've just discovered Mindfulness too which is a new a tool to help…
  • Also having hit a recent four month long plateau and read your replies I might try to swap a lot of the meat I eat for different fish and drop dairy apart from eggs and see if that helps my scales move a little...
  • So great to see other experimenters here. I'm a great believer that each and everyone of us should do these experiments to find what works with our unique physiology, lifestyle, age, gender, genetics and energy needs. There simply doesn't exist a "one size fits all". Love too that this is shaping up to be a really positive…
  • I've lost 77 lbs so far with no loose skin because I did it deliberately slowly, losing a little, then enjoying a plateau allowing my skin to "catch up". So my advice is don't hurry it. And get a lymphatic drainage massage every two weeks to improve the skin tone and texture as you go along. I'm three years into my weight…
  • I'm 41yrs old, 13stone, 34 inch waist. 5ft 8 My body fat content us 27% Rather than look at the scales I want to drop to 22% body fat and 28 inch waist"...
  • I'm getting married on 23 Aug this year. Still got 30 lbs of fat to shift....I think I've got 24 weeks left....
  • I'm a girly geek who found her man-geek and is going to marry him! Doctor Who, Star Trek, old Atari games, RPGs for me, strategy and puzzles for him, conventions galore, met shed loads of actors from SciFi and cult classics, Buffy and Angel, Firefly, original Battlestar Galactica, Babylon 5 (sorry Sheldon), Stargate, Big…
  • So great to hear so many people are like me without kids. I like kids most of the time but have zero desire to have any of my own - never have. I'm 41 and about to get married (in August) and I have two fur babies (kitties). My man is very slim and eats whatever he likes without putting on a pound! He often eats what I…
