Ugh yes, I hate this. Several times a week my office will have free donuts/bagels/sandwich buffet/cookies etc...I just avoid. It's annoying because in addition to looking delicious it's FREE and I could use the saved $, but I just can't do moderation when it comes to free food...Once I ate a bagel and 4 cookies in about 5…

It comes out that salty because of the salt in the canned chickpeas but it is not necessary. You could start with dried chickpeas to eliminate nearly all of that sodium. :)

Omg I love the pumpkin idea. Thank you!

wrong thread!

Me 4, B 0!

I think 1670 might be your TDEE, not your BMR.

Me - 3 B - 0 I had about 4 binges last month, after a pretty good January. With a lot of reading, thinking, and journaling I am sure I can get it down to 0 this month! I will be posting daily. Thanks for the support, everybody :)

I eat a LOT at breakfast. I usually combine two of the following: a) 40 g oatmeal cooked in 1/2 c almond milk + 1/2 c water with either half a banana and berries, or a half cup of canned pumpkin + pumpkin pie spice (or if i'm feeling sinful, a serving of dark chocolate chips, a tbsp of cocoa powder and splenda - HIGHLY…

What a great idea, thank you for sharing!

Funny you mention this because I had a 10+-pound water weight gain last weekend and was thinking about posting it! I am 127, had a HUGE cheat meal (sushi, salty soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, etc) on Saturday night. Sunday I weighed in at 138.8!!!!!!! By Sunday it had already gone down to 134, then 130 by Monday. I think it's…

Thanks all! Insanity it definitely is!

Yep, sometimes I even log breakfast and lunch for the next day the night before!

embarrassingly far...like 2000 calories over my TDEE :D

You CANNOT build muscle mass while eating at a deficit. Period. No matter where the calories are coming from (high protein vs not enough protein, clean foods vs. fast food, etc). It's just a biological fact. A surplus of calories are required to assemble the molecular building blocks of muscle. You can certainly make…

Get a new doctor...

I like clean eating...I also like cheese. I aim to eat "clean" 80% of the time and not fuss about it the other 20%. Have the wine!

Heels. Love the look, hate the feel. :( At least I'm not the only one, judging from this thread! All of my other twentysomething friends love them.

Can you donate the junk food to a food pantry or just unload it on a friend who would take it?
-
I can only tell you what has worked for me, and I am not a doctor. After dropping the first 30-40 pounds, maintaining a 500 cal/day deficit for me was no longer sustainable and I would inevitably binge after a week or two. I know 500/day is what most people on MFP like, but I just felt too deprived, and I would binge. The…

Wow, really glad I found this thread today of all days. REALLY stressed out today and yesterday after an argument with my husband. A binge is usually the first thing I turn to when I we argue. Really wanted to binge last night and today after work, but reminded myself that I always just feel worse afterward.

Yay!

Definitely trying, thank you!

I love the cheat sheet. Thanks for sharing!

I am the quintessential pear. 5'6 and started at 184 lb/size 18 (US) pants, now I'm 125 and a size 4! It is definitely frustrating with our shape because my hips/butt are the LAST place weight comes off. For example, I'm a size 0 on top, but stil a 4 on the bottom. Bottom progress might be slower than top progress, but it…

Some people criticize because they're jealous (I suspect this is the case here). Some are well-meaning but come off terribly (could also be the case here). Do what makes YOU happy. 5'2 and 107 is definitely slim, but not unhealthy in my opinion.

Thank you all so much for responding! I should increase to light activity.

Don't worry...two weeks isn't very long. And something that my husband and I both noticed, especially when we first started, was that the loss wasn't timed evenly - when I first started, the scale didn't move for a MONTH. Then, I lost 5 pounds in a week. Then another 4 pounds the next week. (Some was probably water weight,…
