If you have an old shoulder injury, I would not do Stronglifts 5x5. I tried it last fall (I'm 56 and have past experience with lifting using weight machines), and I had to stop lifting for eight months until my shoulder recovered.

Love your post! Congratulations on your weight loss and your shift in thinking about food. Slow and steady is my mantra too.

I want to get to 152, which will be the lowest weight I've reached in four years. Then 150, by Halloween!

You are beautiful! Congratulations on your success, you've worked hard for it! You look so happy - that is awesome!

I'm in. Building up my distance before I tackle hills again. For September: 12 miles yesterday, 12 miles today, on my favorite paved trail. I love my bike!

Congratulations on taking your life (and body) back! And thanks for the inspiration.

Fantastic! Keep going! You'll have a great New Year's celebration to look forward to.

OK, I'll be the little fairy on the shoulder! Congrats on your weight loss and now get down there and get started exercising! You will definitely notice the difference!

Slow and steady wins the race! You are doing GREAT. Keep going!

I love my bike! Cycling is very meditative for me. Right now I'm concentrating on building up my stamina again, so I've been doing mostly flat rides (I have a road bike). In a month or so I'll be tackling the hills.

Three is an age when they really need you, especially if they haven't seen you all day. It isn't manipulation. Definitely try doing some workouts at home, with her, and then maybe you could get to the gym on the weekend.

Hey, thanks, lintymint816. Good to know that I'm not the only one feeling that way!

Congrats on losing the baby weight!

My husband and I have road bikes, but we got my daughter (who is 5' 4 1/2" tall) a Specialized Vita Elite hybrid, as she wanted to be able to go off road sometimes. She likes it so far.

It does take a bit. Don't push yourself too hard initially or you may find yourself getting sick again. I've had that happen. Easy workouts at first, let your body tell you when it's ready. You'll get there. Sorry you've been under the weather.

You've worked hard for this! Woot Woot!
-
Awesome work! You'll be making that next post in no time!
-
Great transformation! You worked hard for this! Congratulations and thanks for the inspiration!

Wonderful! You've worked very hard for this and you look (and obviously feel) great! Congratulations!

Yes - you can do it again, and you can use what you learned from the first go-round (both what worked then and what ISN'T working right now). This is my fourth time losing this weight (arghh), and I've learned for myself that I have to log my food every day, and if I boost my protein intake while cutting out flour and…

You can do it, one meal and one workout at a time. I find that I have uncontrollable cravings if I eat junk food. When I eat more protein in my diet (chicken, eggs, yogurt, occasionally red meat) and I cut out the flour and sugar, I stop having cravings. And it's OK to switch out your workouts - try something new. Walking?…

You could also get a sheepskin bicycle seat cover. I don't do spinning but I do cycle outside and I love the padding from my sheepskin seat cover. I ordered it from villageshop.com (the only place online I could find a black one), and it was only $22.94 including shipping. It is shaped for a touring seat (wider than a…

Sounds pretty accurate to me if you were walking for 12 hours straight - if you got to 11 miles, that's just a hair under a mile per hour.

Well done! Love your post and your story. Thanks for sharing!

Nice work! You are clearly loving life, too! Thanks for the inspiration.
