  • Same here. I am not losing any pounds at all but my clothes are starting to fit better and I notice a slight difference in the shape of my legs. I'd love to lose the actual pounds, too, but I'm content with looking better at this weight.
  • Welcome back! Feel free to add me :-) The more the merrier, I say!
  • Welcome back! Feel free to add me too :-)
  • I'm 5'5" and 140 right now, and I can stand to lose a few pounds. I think that is a totally reasonable goal.
  • I am totally trying this. I LOVE pad thai. Thanks!
  • I'd like to hear more about the saffron extract... I also think your calories are probably too low, but that's because I just bumped my calorie intake to 1300 from 1200 and I phsically feel better when I eat a little more. You have a calorie goal of 1200 but you are not even taking that in, so my guess is that your body…
  • Love and Other Drugs ...like Percocet, Vicoden, Ultram, Oxycodone, and various other prescription narcotics. He did eventually get clean and we are still friends. He's a great dad to our little guy. Trouble is, if he never got hooked and became a total ghost of his former self we'd probably still be married.
  • It's meat and vegetables. Probably the most natural thing your body can take in. Drink plenty of water and eat normally. Your body will freak out only as much as you let it, so don't panic. :-)
  • Applebees has a skinny margarita that has about 100 calories per drink. I've had one and it's not bad. One or two of those and lots of water would be a good bet, I think.
  • It takes a while. I gained almost 40 pounds with my son and I did lose it all and then gained some back, so here I am. You sound kind of like me, struggling with willpower at night and then feelig guilty the next day. I get frustrated too, but now I'm starting to take it literally one day at a time, one meal at a time, one…
  • I want to do it! I'm starting today. Better late than never :-)
  • Hi!! I am also a busy mom in school :-) I have one boy who is 7 and has Asperger's, and also 3 wonderful step kids who are 8, 6, and 2 1/2. I have been in school for my degree for over 4 years and am almost done (finally!!) and I work as a buyer for a capital equipment manufacturer. I am 5'5", 140, trying to get to the 125…
  • I was JUST going to post about this! It's kismet. I prefer wine or beer to anything mixed. I used to drink vodka but found lately that mixing it with anything made it too sweet. I try to stick to red wine, but my hubby like white or blush so that is in the house more often. I got used to having a drink or two after work at…
  • This is me, too. My husband eats all the things I can't eat - or if I did, I'd weigh a lot more. There are always Doritos and other chips, cookies, and other junk food in the house, but I make sure I have plenty of my own food there, too. Most time he'll eat what I make for dinner, but a bigger portion. He has tried a lot…
  • Haha! I'm more surprised that there are so many people who criticize veggie eaters, but I hear it too. When I'm devouring my salad and someone says something smart about it, I just throw my "I'm trying to be a trophy wife" line at them. Making fun of it a little myself seems to take the edge off of them.
  • I created a recipe for cookies that uses spelt or quinoa flour (any whole grain flour works, really) oats, flax, honey, dark chocolate, walnuts, and cranberries that are a huge hit at work. I don't tell anyone how good they are for you (in moderation of course) because I think that might psych some people out. A little…
  • I do occasionally indulge. I even had a small ice cream cone for dinner last night because I really wanted one. I eat pizza, drink wine, and don't live on low calorie stuff. I know enough about food to know that there are healthy, calorie rich foods and unhealthy ones, too. I love avocado, and I don't really compare it to…
  • Hi! I'm a busy mama too, I have a boy who is 7 and 3 step kids ages 8, 6, and 2 1/2. I work FT and am finishing up my bachelor's degree in Management. My husband owns his own business, so I help with that, too. I can totally relate to the no time for workouts problem. My plan is to join the gym close to work once I finish…
  • I live on a small family farm and my inlaws run a greenhouse business there, so we garden like crazy. Last year it was about a quarter acre but the drought destroyed us and this year we are scaling back to about half of that. We grow many kinds of tomatoes, radishes, carrots, beans, broccoli, cauliflower, pea pods,…
  • I get that a lot and for me it's one of two things - not enough protein or not enough water. We often think we're hungry when we're really just thirsty. I chew gum sometimes after meals too to simulate that eating activity and eventually my brain gets it.
  • Hi! Welcome :-) Sending you a friend request. A small army is a powerful motivator!
  • You can add me too! I'm 34, work at a desk job, and want my 5' 5" self to go from 140 to 125. When I was a SAHM mom I worked out like a maniac and lost the baby weight and then some. When I went back to work I had a very active job so the weight stayed off. My promotion to the office was the beginning of my 15 pound weight…
  • Mine has a hard time mostly with me eating healthy because he still prefers crap "food". We almost never eat the same dinners at home because of it. I am planning on joining the gym by my work and going on my lunch breaks because he feels that we have way too many things at home to take care of (4 kids, constant…
