  • Please stop eating only 800 calories a day! I have seen so many women do this, lose weight for a short time, only to gain it back. Your body cannot function on only 800 calories a day. I started MFP in March of 2014. I lost close to 60 pounds my first year eating around 1500 calories a day, exercising and filling my body…
  • My weakness is/was Saturday. It was my Cheat DAY! I convinced myself that have been "Good" all week, I have lost 85 pounds, I deserve this, etc..... So what I have done instead is I've gone from a cheat DAY to one cheat MEAL a week, making sure I eat a dessert that I want! smile: This has seemed to help me out.

  • This is great! Sometimes I forget how far I've come as I still would like to lose 5-10 pounds. I am 5'6" 225 was my Starting weight and I wore between a 16-18. 140 is my current weight and I wear a size 6! My husband has done this also. He is 5'11" 260 was his starting weight and pushing a size 40. 190 is his current…
  • If your trainer is suggesting for you to have 175 grams, this can be done! A really easy and low calorie way to get more protein is your diet is through WHEY protein. Whey protein is typically a powder that can be made with water or milk. The brand of protein I use has 24 grams of protein and 120 calories for one scoop. I…
  • Of course you're having a bad day.....but you do need to "suck it up!" My bad day was 745 days ago. I had to stop crying about my weight and wondering why I was heavy and change my ways! Here I am after logging everything I put in my mouth now 85 pounds lighter. It took me one year to lose and I have had a successful year…
  • Way to go! You look Amazing! I lost 85 pounds in 2014 and have kept it off. My husband has lost 75 pounds also! It amazing what a changed diet and exercise can do! You should be really proud!
  • I've lost 85 pounds. Not one day have I given up my Diet Mt. Dew! But as with everything, moderation is the key!
  • I have the same goal this year. I lost 85 pounds in 2013 and kept it off in 2014. Now I want to lean out and have increased my protein. I have my macros set at 40% P, 40% C, and 20% fat. I used an online macros calculator to get my percentages. I have only been doing this for 3 weeks now, so not huge results yet, but I…
  • When I was losing it would prompt me to change my goal every 10 pounds or so. Hopefully it still does that. I am on a full year of maintaining 85 pounds lost, so I am not sure what occurs now. Good luck!
  • Get a scale. I weigh everything! I think I spent around $10 for it and it was my greatest purchase for MFP!
  • Even if you can't exercise often, 75%-80% of weight loss is based on your diet. So try to eat more protein, fruits, and vegetables than carbs while following your suggested calorie intake. Good luck!
  • I've lost 85 pounds and my husband lost 75 pounds in 2014 and we have kept it off. Someone close to us has said on numerous occasions, " I liked you guys better the other way." :/ It's hard when someone close to you hasn't lost their weight and they don't cheer for you when you have.
  • If your wife wants you to lose also, see if she'll log her foods on here also. My husband and I did this together and we have almost 750 days logged in. I have lost 85 pounds and my husband has lost over 75 pounds. Find motivation in one another. For us, we eat more protein, veggies, and fruit than carbs and we stay inside…
  • I lost 85 pounds and my husband lost 75 pounds tracking calories on My Fitness Pal in 2014 and we have kept it off. We refused to give up Diet pop/soda. As with everything, drink and eat it in moderation! Good Luck!
  • My husband and I began in February of 2014 after the birth of our daughter. In one year, I lost 85 lbs and my husband lost 75. We have kept it off for one year. Tracking your intake and exercise works! I am on day 725! It is a slow process. I was nearly a size 18 when I started and my goal was to be a size 8. I am…
  • I just made Oatmeal pancakes for dinner last night! There are a ton of recipes for them. When I make them, I add sugar-free maple syrup to the batter for some extra flavor.
  • It sounds like you are on the right track, but you have to start watching your food intake. My husband and I have always ate "healthy." But too much of a good thing is still bad. In February of 2014, we joined MFP and started counting calories. My husband has gone from 260 lbs to 185 lbs. I have gone from 225 to 140.…
  • I would do squats on your own first and get used to the motion. I do squats at home frequently and my two-year old daughter joins me. I do some type of squats every time I go to the gym because my legs, as in most women, are my problem areas.
  • Unfortunately, diet pills really don't work. You just need to eat less and exercise more. In February of 2014, I started logging calories on MYFITNESSPAL and lost 85 pounds in one year. I have kept it off for a year also. Feel fuller by eating more protein and veggies and less carbs. Have 1 "cheat day" a week and increase…
  • I want you to know you can do this! I have logged in for over 465 days and I have no plans to stop! After gaining over 50 pounds while pregnant with my daughter. I had skyrocketed to 226 pounds. When she was born in November of 2013, I lost around 25 pounds on my own. I was disgusted with my progress and thought I was…
  • First off.....it is a slow process. Just a little background about me, I had a baby last November gaining over 50 pounds. On my own, I only lost about 29 pounds, but my daughter weighed over 10 pounds. So really, I had only lost a small amount on my own. I was super discouraged. So my husband and motivator said that he…
