  • Get either the Turtle Beach X41s for $140 or the PX5s for $213. Amazon is the cheapest place to buy. Both have 7.1 surround sound. The main difference is that the PX5s can be programmed to the user's specific preferences and they are blue tooth compatible, which means they work on the PS3 as well. If you are looking for…
  • I rock Brownberry Grains & More - Double Protein Bread. It's pretty tasty and high in protein as far as a bread goes. cals-100 fat-2 protein-6 fiber-3 sugar-2 sodium-150
  • Don't divide by 6! That's not correct. I don't know how to do it exactly. I don't have a HRM either, so don't know where my heart reate is at during weight training. However, my heart rate stays around 170-180 while I'm on the Elliptical. I'm 30 years old and weigh 223.
  • I haven't found anything healthier than Kashi's GoLean Cereal. cals - 140 fat - 1 protein - 13 fiber - 10 sugar - 6 Keep in mind, it doesn't have much taste and takes a bit to get used to. I like to throw in a 1/4 cup of blueberries to give it some taste.
  • Well, how much do you go over? Exceeding your limit is not bad, I just wouldn't try to double that amount because some people could have digestion issues. My daily goal is 31 grams, and I'm usually somewhere between 10 under or 10 over. I don't have any side-effects when I go over.
  • It's just an estimate. Everyone will burn something differently depending on the intensity of the workout. Also, everyone's body is different and will burn as such. The more accurate way to know is by wearing a heart rate monitor.
  • haha! Just an FYI, I buy from ebay. They're even cheaper than the GNC Gold discount. The total usually comes out to around $30.
  • I use Amplified 189 Creatine by GNC and noticed results nearly immediatly. They are pills, not powder, which is really nice and I take 2 pills once a day. I've had no side effects. Likewise, I don't think that it gives me a huge boost in energy either, but I have become a bit stronger while on creatine. A bottle will last…
  • I don't have a scheduled "cheat night", but I usually eat out (burgers, pizza, fries, tacos) and drink a fair amount of beer on Friday and Saturday nights. I'm not perfect, but I workout 6 days a week and eat healthy Sunday-Friday afternoon. I'm not going to keep myself from having a good time on the weekends. If some…
  • I don't want to buy Kinect, but that Michael Jackson dance game looks like it could be fun and a good workout too! However, it doesn't come out until April.
  • I just estimate if it's not a chain pizzeria.
  • I keep mine in the car, don't need that distraction!
  • I'm going on 4 years without "pop" (I'm from MI). At first, I just gave up Cola's, and only drank clear pops like Sprite or 7-Up. Eventually I was able to give those up as well. With that being said, I still had the occasional Gatorade or other sports drink, but not too often. I didn't notice any weight loss or anything…
  • I use Optimum Nutrition Brand, Gold Standard, Double Chocolate. It's 24 grams of protein per serving. I buy from amazon using the "subscribe and save" option, which knocks 15% off my order, so it comes out to be around $33 for 5lbs. Another good source of protein is Kroger Brand Carbmaster Yogurt. It's 12 grams protein,…
  • I like to rock on the elliptical! Some songs/artists on my currently "workout" mix include: Alice in Chains - ALL Bloodhound Gang - ALL Bush - Machinehead Chevelle - Jars, Closure, The Red CKY - 96 Quite Bitter Beings The Darkness - I Believe in a Thing Called Love Disturbed - Voices, Stupify Electrix Six - Body Shot,…
  • Thanks everyone!
  • I usually have egg beaters or Kashi Golean cereal with a half cup of skim milk.
  • Welcome! The phone app was what totally sold me on this site. I used to track my nutritional stats on mydailyplate, but prefer it here much more since the move. The community is helpful and fun as well.
  • ...and another quick FYI, and adding on to my last post: Using subcribe and save on amazon.com will bring the price down to around $35. I will take the extra $6 every few months, haha! You can also change the frequency or cancel shipments anytime. It's a really nice option, imo.
  • To a degree, I know how you feel. Sometimes I'm just not hungry in the morning. I try to at least have a yogurt and piece of toast...just something to get you going right away in the morning. I also agree with the person about the protein shake. You have to put something in your stomach shortly after waking.
  • I use Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Standard, double chocolate flavor. It has 24 grams of protein in 1 serving, and low sugar and fat. The taste is pretty good too, as I only mix with water. The Vanilla flavor is also decent. I buy it on amazon using "subscribe and save". It knocks the price down by 15% when you pick…
  • Yes, completely agree in terms of being conservative. Like I said, if you're lifting hard, then you are burning a ton of calories (don't rest for very long in between sets - exhaust your muscles!). But...I underestimate mine as well once I put the number into this site. It's also important to keep in mind that everyone's…
  • I've spoke with the certified trainer at my gym about this before. Comparing what you burned to what the trainer said, I think that it is entirely possible that you did in fact burn that much. Honestly, it doesn't seem that high to me, rather sounds more average per a hard workout. Another thing to remember is that you…
  • I like to "rock out" on the elliptical. Some good ol' Motley Crue always get's me going, haha.
  • Yes I did...and I won't be eating fruits nor sweets in my diet for the time being. That person wanted healthier football snacks, and I can certainly say and recommend that an apple is much better than a cupcake or cookie.
  • If you do so, skip the flavored crust and fatty meats, and see if they have a thin crust pizza.
  • Like I said, I'm not recommending it. I was just simply answering the question.
  • Without mentioning any specific recipes, try this: Instead of beef, use turkey or chicken - They still make a mean nacho! Use lowfat dressings...I really enjoy Kroger's fat free ranch. Try to eat fruits instead of cookies or cake. Drink light beer instead of regular. Exercise before the game to burn cals and boost your…
