Maybe you're fighting a cold? Allergies? Not drinking enough water?

... if I didn't have scoliosis and carpal tunnel

Yes. On a side note (not to you, but to others on the site)... Is this really such a weird idea? Why has nobody ever heard of this before?

Everybody DOES have to die from something. But it doesn't have to be heart disease.

That's a really interesting question. When you wear your HRM when you're NOT exercising, does it show that you're burning calories? Or does it only show calorie burn when your HR is above a certain threshold? Whenever you exercise, you are burning additional calories, but I guess it really depends on how your HRM works…

Going to be hard to find a protein-containing food that doesn't also contain fats or carbs. Protein powder is usually an "isolate", basically the protein chemically or mechanically extracted (isolated) from some otherwise natural substance like whey or soy. Because of the isolation, it's more "pure" than foods that contain…

Plus it differs between chickens.

I have the same problem. Just some theories... Is it possible that your form is off, requiring you to exert way more energy? I also recently read that distance runners have shorter Achilles tendons in their heels, making their feet more "springy", which allows them to launch themselves with much less effort. Maybe your…

"Strength training" is listed under cardiovascular exercise. Who knows why? Maybe instead of "cardio" they ought to label it "calorie burning activities". The strength training section seems to only be for tracking your advancement in weight lifted, etc.
-
Do you do any strength training? Do you measure your progress in any way other than numeric weight?

Sounds like a software bug to me.

This is, of course, the opposite of what the Paleo Diet folks would tell you... :)
-
That said, I just gulped down 40g of protein in the form of a vanilla protein shake, because I needed more protein in my diet but not a lot of fat, so eggs were out...

The fact that all these semi-reputable sources disagree with each other (and that their founders all have success on the diet) indicates to me that none of them really know the answer. Probably, the answer is that certain diets work better for some people, and other diets work better for others. You'll have to work…

Could you study at the gym? I work out at a college gym, and I see people studying there all the time. They just print out their notes, or bring their books, or use a device like an iPad or a Kindle to display class information in a flat sort of way. (Obviously a laptop isn't going to work too well on a treadmill...)

You hate ALL veggies? That seems unlikely, since there are like 800 varieties of them... Surely you can find something you like, or some way of preparing them that tastes good. Everything tastes good with sauce!

Corn bread?

If you've already entered that you want to lose a certain number of pounds, the site has calculated that you need to eat X calories per day. If you work out and burn 200 calories, you now need to eat (X + 200) calories per day to hit the original number. So yes. You shouldn't increase your calorie deficit beyond what the…

Drink a glass of water. Presto! Instant weight gain on your scale! Now wait a few hours and use the bathroom. Presto! Instant weight loss! Furthermore, all that working out you're doing is going to pack on the muscle, which will cause your weight (but not your fat %) to increase and decrease somewhat more erratically,…

Did this snack urge begin when you started exercising?

Very nice! Good work!!

Don't get everybody else at the gym sick. Work out at home if you can.

Honestly, if it's within 5-10%, it probably doesn't matter. The site is an estimate for everybody who's ever used an exercise bike, while the exercise bike is an estimate for everybody who's ever used that particular exercise bike. I'd say that the bike is probably more accurate, since it knows exactly how much force you…

To lose belly fat, lose fat. All fat is burned in your liver. Your fat cells are constantly giving up fat if your body needs more energy and soaking up excess fat (also mostly produced in your liver) if your body has too much energy. It doesn't matter where those fat cells are located - all of that fat makes its way to the…

Exactly. This is the "running from a tiger in the wilderness having not eaten for three days" effect. Humans are survivors. Our bodies were designed to stay alive, not to stay sexy. Your fat cells don't have brains and don't know what you're trying to get them to do. Fortunately, we can coerce them in the "sexy" direction…

First, don't forget that your body now needs fewer calories than it did when you started. Even fat tissue requires calories to maintain, and losing 43 lbs of it likely cut down your calorie allotment dramatically. (HOWEVER, it isn't healthy to eat fewer calories than you're eating right now for long periods of time, so…

You'll see a couple of benefits from strength training. You already listed a couple of them: 1. Burning calories 2. Toning up (aka building muscle) Another benefit is that muscle is more dense than fat and requires more nutrients to simply exist. That means your base metabolism will increase and you'll burn more calories…

Don't forget that the contents of your meal aren't the only thing you can control - you can also control your portion size. Eating less is obviously less filling, but you can supplement your smaller portion sizes by drinking more water or eating more fiber to make yourself feel more full. And your family can simply take…

^^^ This If you're going to do pilates, all the sites you come across will probably mention this. It is critical to success using those exercises. Also you'll learn how to hold in your stomach better.

Off the top of my head, some possibilities ... Do abdominal exercises! They're not going to help you lose the fat you've got, but they will help you strengthen your core, which will help you hold in your guts a bit better. I recommend the pilates abs sequence for core strength that focuses on abs. Make sure you pay…
