eating your exercise cals

I know this is a very much debated topic but I just read a comment which made me think:-
if you eat less than 1200 cals the starvation mode prompt appears when you complete a days entry but if you workout and burn 200 cals the starvation mode prompt doesn't come up if you have eaten under 1400 cals but over 1200 she said that your body wont go into starvation mode if you don't eat your exercise cals. I'm not so sure I regularly burn 300 - 400 cals a day I know people on here who burn up to 1000 cals a day so in my case there are only 700 cals for my body to do its job and in others only 200. Is this a site error should the prompt come up if your net total is below 1200 or is she right that my body won't go into starvation mode if I regularly eat only my given cals of 1300 and not my exercise cals aswell
thanks in advance for your input

IF i get what youre saying , i think i saw the same thing. Like i didn't NET 1200 or over but my total cals were over 1200 so the prompt didn't come up....0

Sounds like a software bug to me.0

definately a bug....on my long run days (9+ miles) I'll burn 1300+ calories and i cannot eat all of these back. A few weeks back my "net" calories were at -200 when I accidentally hit "complete entry" and no starvation mode warning appeared. Eat your calories back people...your body NEEDS fuel!0

No it's not a bug. The prompt is caused by your calorie in take on your food logging page. Because net calories are calculated on your home page only, the prompt can't come up when you are done logging your food.
I agree that this would clear up a lot of confusion and be helpful, but it may be something they are already working on. When I started- in september- there wasn't a space for net cals and now there is, so it might be that they are trying to figure out a way to have this prompt without cluttering the food log page. I hope so!0 -

I don't know about the bugs etc., but I never eat all my burned back calories just in case I have miscalculated my caloric intake...0
