  • Well, I have definitely aged! I do not look like I did when I was eight if I multiply it by ten. I agree with bojack5's comment. Keeping healthy and fit is more important than superficial appearances. :D <3
  • I bought a pair of Crocs specially made for this condition. I found the cause of the problem was that I was wearing sloppy shoes which did not support the feet. I've learnt my lesson and have had no pain for three years now.
  • I've never seen it - I read your post wondering what it was about! And now I know!!!
  • That is brilliant! Shows what weight loss can do. My husband had a CPAP machine for 19 years and when he had surgery for bowel cancer, he could not use the machine as the air pressure was too high. At his next clinic appointment it was discovered that the sleep apnoea was no longer present. He initially had lost a lot of…
  • Yes, it works, its free and you get all the support you need. I find it so convenient as my computer is always switched on. Took me a while to get used to the software. I joined in January and have lost an average of 1 lb a week which suits me fine. The ideal, as far as the dieticians go, is to lose between one and two…
  • 34 pounds is the maximum I have ever lost and that got me down to the Weight Watchers goal. I was 62 at the time. My prediction is that if you succeed you will be left with a bit of an apron (which could be surgically removed, but I don't think it would be necessary!). You are still at an age when your skin has sufficient…
  • The information you give is absolutely correct. As for having one's own BMR done, if you had it done elsewhere you may get a different result. The current dietary and medical advice is that one should aim to lose no more than one to two pounds a week. This keeps the body healthy and avoids going into starvation mode. I am…
  • You have to get your weekends under control, but you already know that! I suggest you have a quiet word with your boyfriend and see what you can work out together. Try diet coke instead of ordinary drinking, try to walk to places or include an activity in your weekend plans. I eat pizza - will be having some tomorrow but I…
  • My husband lost much hair after chemo. It takes longer than you would expect for it to grow back.
  • Many congratulations! MFP is a brilliant site and it is free." Each victory will help you some other to win!"
  • I'm not the best person to answer this, but in my experience, eating salty food gives me a temporary weight gain the next day. I then drink plenty of fluids to flush it through my system. I don't think the occasional salty meal out will do any real harm.
  • Please note carefully what erickirb has written.
  • So glad you have joined this welcoming and supportive site. You will be done to your goal in no time! :flowerforyou:
  • Thanks for sharing. Wonderfully expressed! Here's to a future of health and fitness.:flowerforyou:
  • Welcome to this brilliant site, Lisa. It has everything - good program and good support.
  • I'm on my 6th day! This is a brilliant site and the support is outstanding. Greatest bit of all is that it works and it is FREE!
  • Glad you found this site. I found it last Sunday and I also love it!
  • Especially for Darlis. Thinking of you and you hubby. I know how terrible it can be...   :flowerforyou:
  • I'm new to MFP but I did lose 5 lbs in the week before I joined. I also was once upon a time a Vitaline weight loss trainer. (Those were the days, my friend!). The keys to losing weight are diet, excercise and motivation. This site gives lots of motivation. When you are tempted to eat something not compatible with…
  • Ah, thanks so much to all who posted. I really appreciate your help. I weighed myself this morning after my restuarant lunch yesterday at a Toby Carvery and I had lost a little more weight. I enjoyed myself eating out and even had an ice cream but had I realised that their Yorkshire puds were 331 calories I would not have…
  • I joined only yesterday and feel like I belong. This website is brilliant for losing weight.
  • I joined MFP yesterday and am looking for friends. This thread seems to be exactly what I am looking for! So pleased that everyone has put a photo or something as their avatar image. Nothing is more off putting when you join than seeing a load of blank faces and 'I haven't filled this in yet'. You can check out my profile…
  • I've just joined but having sussed most things out, I am sure I will reach my goal. I feel equally certain that you will manage it too. We are all in this together! :flowerforyou:
  • I've just joined this morning so it's a big welcome from me too. People seem to be joining every few minutes. Brilliant!
