It only changes your calorie goal after you add the exercise on a day to day basis. The estimate is still right.

Great progress! I started at 264 and a size 20W (probably should've been a 22). I'm now at about 230 and a size 18. I've lost 30ish pounds and really just one size.

When plugged into a calorie calculator - circuit training (which is what 30DS is) burns just shy of 200 cals in 20 mins. It sounds pretty close to me. It just feels worse...
-
Woot! go you!
-
This only explains sugary binges, but many people binge on other things as well.
-
circuit training works because the bursts of cardio in your strength workout keeps your heart rate pumping (read burning calories) while you strength train different muscle groups - - Kinda falls into the don't work harder, work smarter category.

I was always just told that the blood vessels in my face were very close to my skin. It's been like this my whole life, I don't even have to be working hard for it to happen. Worked well in high school playing sports - coaches always thought I was giving it 500% all the time! I also do the splash my face with water thing,…

Also check out Hungry Girl - google her! She's got a show on food network now too!

I'm not usually a big water touter, but whenever I headache, my dad always told me to drink a glass of water, and it usually helped. To me it sounds like too much caffeine (a mild diuretic) is making you dehydrated and causing your headache. Give it a shot. It's free!

I'm working on my Ph.D. and a lot of my school friends are married, some even with kids. I'm with the poster before. If it's meant to work out, you can figure out the details when the time comes :)

There's nothing you can say or do to anyone to convince them that they need to get healthier. It has to be their choice at a time that is right for them.

I've lost 36lbs and have only dropped one pants size.

You can see what your allotted maintenance calories are by changing your goal to "maintain" instead of lose weigh through MFP.
-
I'd say that this is about as arbitrary as a statement can go. I'd suggest looking up what your Maintenance calories are and try to stay under that on days when you go over. I like to be familiar with what the calorie goals are for a 2 lb, 1.5 lb, 1 lb, .5lb and 0lb loss for myself. As you said, one day won't kill you…

Feel free to add me, too. I have been here since January and recently did the whole recommit thing myself :) (love that song, too)

227.6

My mom makes a similar version of this for every major holiday dinner. It sounds like it'd be unappetizing but It's so delicious, I promise!

Make sure you're also getting plenty of potassium rich foods. It tends to negate some of the effects of the sodium.
-
You look beautiful, but I'm sure you always have! Congratulations on your successes!

Body's playing tricks on me - gained 3 lbs, lost 3 inches...

Reporting no change for this week... :-\

227.8 :) Kind of funny. I got on the scale and immediately got angry at myself, and couldn't figure how I'd put on so much weight. Then I realized that it was in the 220's not 230's as I've been in for the past month! lol

I empathize. I feel so frumpy wearing my old clothes, I've gotten rid of most of them. I think half of the problem is that not only are we changing sizes, but we're also changing proportions. I've been devoted to Old Navy as my jean brand, but I'm beginning to question if that's really going to work!

Quaker Chewy bars are only 90 calories - why go for something you don't want when you can get exactly what you want? :)

I know from experience. I did atkins when I was younger, with my entire family. I lost a lot of weight. It all came back and brought friends. I'm not talking from propaganda, I'm talking from experience. And, Green leafy vegetables have almost no carbs. One serving of spinach has approximately one carb. That's hardly…
-
I urge you to please reconsider. By cutting out an entire food group (carbs) it makes it very hard to keep off the weight, you're more tempted to binge, etc. MFP is great to just record your calories. A balanced diet is really key to a healthy lifestyle. But, to answer your question - salads, burgers or grilled chicken…
