Im also trying to find the perfect shrug pattern... as I know i will wear them for a lot of years yet! (have one on my needles as i speak!) Great minds! (patience is also not a…

thanks @SoutPawSings! I think the problem is having no real idea what size iwill be at my goal weight... so do i just pick a size & cross my fingers? Because losing weight, i am never the same size i was at this weight, when i was gaining - its all so tricky! lol. And - making jumpers etc - most things are pretty…

1 cup of whole almonds is about 170g and makes about 1 litre of milk (i dont add the extras)- so i guess it depends what price you can buy almonds for where you are (looking at bulk buying is normally much much cheaper and they keep well) - in bulk it can be about $2/L - if you can get them in bulk at the end of the season…

Yep - i totally agree with making your own - although... im an aussie too :P

This is copied/pasted from my blog as i keep seeing people having this trouble :) I keep seeing people saying they are struggling with recording accurately what calories they consume with family meals - especially the 'one pot' variety where everyone has a different portion size (think bolognaise, chilli, curry, stew etc)…

I always felt this way too - till i changed what i had for breakfast. I am super sensitive to carbs (PCOS & Thyroid issues) and found a breakfast higher in carbs set me up on the rollercoaster all day - so if i have a more solidly 'protein/fat' based meal - I dont get that reaction & dont get the subsequent rollercoast of…

If something unexpected happens, like freebies at work - I think i'd be happy to have some... As im trying to lose weight, i allow myself to go up to maintenance calories without beating myself up on occassion (including special occassions like birthdays & family gatherings etc.) - Losing weight and being healthy for me is…

8oz is slightly less than one metric cup... 8oz is 236ml, a metric cup is 250ml. (Having said that, I hope there is a way you can record less than 'full' cups also, I think mls would eb great - As i generally use 600 ml bottles)

A smallish apple is about 100 calories once you remove the core.

To do it healthily, you need a bascic amount of calories, comprising of a good variety of all macro/micro nutrients needed to keep your body functioning correctly. I am guessing that 1200 is WELL below your RMR requirements (the calories your body would use if you did nothing -at all - veritably commatose) So when you…

Have lost 38kg (approx 83lb) and dropped a shoe size... (ladies 10 to a 9) I still have a long way to go though - but it sucks... I loved my shoes, it was the one thing i liked about my 'wardrobe' - sigh.

Was it this one, i stumbled upon it today :) http://www.caloriesperhour.com/index_burn.php

Thanks guys, with sewing, i whip most things up in a day (or much less, if it is a simple skirt) - but sewing isnt a 'few day' thing, it takes em weeks & Of course I have all gorgeous, fitted, cabled type items in mind! *grin* Garments that can be 'taken in' or easily altered dont really fit with my idea of a 'tailored…

Saved for later... the idea of these both excites and perplexes me!~

I have the same name both places :)

I didnt say 'mega high,' I also did say not as high as her body builder friend - i was saying higher than what is currently being consumed. I wasn't saying dont listen to a Dr, i was saying ask him to explain why specifically, he doesn't support higher protein, what he classifies as high protein etc (which, the OP should…

Hi Lovely, Im still suggesting more protein & good fats (nuts, avocado, fish etc) So pleased your sodium intake has gone down & you are doing so so well to stick to this. You dont need as much as your partners bodybuilding friends suggested (although, i still think your DR has some explaining to do as to why he is so…

I've been having hot dogs a lot lately - but today i have a special tea planned too - so needed some extra calories... but hotdogs are on the menu for lunch... so... I am planning on using half the bun - chopping the dog in half & putting both halves on the 1/2bun - doubling the onion & halfing the cheese (extra onion is…

Aww, what about the 6 snickers you were planning on eating yesterday? Troll be trolling.

*hugs* (cause, first and foremost is seems you could do with one - albeit a cyber one.) You can do this. My story is not word for word like yours, i have thyroid problems & heart problems and at the height of my weight i was (uses internet translator) 326.9lb... I could no longer hold my regular day job without chest pain,…

Fabulous! I couldn't tell from the way you wrote so just wanted to double check... :) So long as you log everything, eat back your exercise calories (well - i think 50%-80% seems to be what most people here recommend - as MFP is a little out with some things) hopefully it will show~ Some medications just make it all that…

You are logging the calories for your iced tea too?

Yes - stretch marks through puberty are normal.

I was on liquid diets (dr monitored) for a while - Personally, i don't feel they work well with a -slow swap to proper food - mainly because they are so sweet, and set me up with sweet cravings for the rest of the day. Most are also quite high in carbs so I found as i went off of them i craved carbs an awful lot too! I…

I have both PCOS and thyroid (also waiting on a heart op - so - has been very little exercise thus far) and it is hard, but you can do it :) The main thing i have found was that - very few drs know a lot about EITHER of these conditions, much less how they interact with each other. You need to research a lot yourself & try…
