Swimming definitely. Tried jogging, hated it. Swimming is the best all round exercise you can get.

Woah! lighten up. It was meant as a joke. Sorry if you were offended. Bye bye folks, I'm off. Good luck on your journeys, ALL of you.

Just finished Still Alice by Lisa Genova. Very powerful and moving, have your tissues handy :'( Now I want to see the film.

Chocolate is the answer and I don't care what the question is ;)

Good morning all! I subscribe to Dr Moseley's newsletter which arrived in my in box yesterday. He talks about plateauing and the health benefits of IF even if you're not losing weight as confirmed by recent research in the US. Basically, when we're fasting our cells become more resilient which makes us more resistant to…

Finished The Buried Giant by Kazuo Ishiguro over the weekend. To be honest my thoughts throughout were "meh" until I got to the very last chapter then - wow. And not in a good way. Now moved on to Still Alice on audio while reading Testament of Youth in between. Loving both :)

@flumi_f Italy - wow! very envious, love it there especially the food. Have a wonderful trip :) So-so week for me last week, no loss to report and issues with my DS left me feeling a bit down. But we made up over the weekend and are back on speaking terms. Mind you watching him being fitted for his braces this morning has…

@flumi_f Such a heartfelt story, thanks for sharing, you are an inspiration. Okaaaaay so maybe not, or not yet anyway. In other NSV news, there's another pair of jeans heading for the charity bag this weekend! :D Non FD today and I'm going to treat my DS to a take-away pizza tonight as he's had exams this week and been a…

Morning all! FD#2 for me today and despite eating to my TEEDEE yesterday I've woken up hungry :( Must be weather-related, sun is gone away and its grey, cloudy, overcast and threatening to rain. Also I went to bed last nice feeling crotchety and over-tired and had a rotten night's sleep as a result (tossing and turning and…

Hello everyone! @HollandOats - Yay for your NSV - just as important to our motivation as the scales!! :D @flumi_f Your walking retreat sounded idyllic, glad you've returned refreshed and revitalised, mentally as well as physically. I had a blowout weekend celebrating DD's birthday at a local steakhouse. Not as bad as its…

It's next on my Audible list - will be starting it tonight! Love Kazuo Ishiguro, The Remains of the Day is in my Top 10 list. Just finished The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton. Really beautiful story and a very "non-Holloywood" ending, some very 'modern' themes tackled. Highly recommended.

Don't apologise - it's great to see progress, well done! B)

I feel good today - another 2lbs off since last last check-in, making this month's average -1lbs/week, nice and sustainable. Folks - if you like me you have a love/hate relationship with your scales, I find it helpful and inspiring to focus on NSV's. Weight loss is so much more than a number on a screen or a dial, it's…

Well my scales may be pissing me off on a regular basis but I'm having a fabulous NSV today. Some trousers and a top I bought a couple of months ago and which fitted me well at the time are swamping me! I have an impressive amount of room between me and the waistband of the trousers and the peplum top looks like a tent. In…

@bburg86 Not everyone is losing every week, if I lose 2lbs a MONTH I think I'm doing well! I've been on 5:2 for over 3 months now and lost a grand total of 8lbs. But a loss is still a loss and so long as its in the right direction I don't stress it and I'm happy when I look in the mirror. I do tend to over-eat on non-FD's…

Blergh!! How did you manage that? I ate a tiny bit of jalapeno by accident the other day and i thought my head was on fire! :D

Yesterday's FD was a bit of a disaster, ended up on 800 cals due to being sabotaged by a Magnum ice cream on my lunchtime walk plus a Bounty bar at a petrol station on my way home :/ No dinner, early night then overslept this morning. Things can only get better from her ;) @flumi_f - love the pic!

Finished! Fantastic story, kept me guessing right to the end. A story of obsession and control. Every time I thought I'd figured it out BOOM it turned again, highly recommended!
-
FD#2 for me today but I definitely got out on the wrong side of the bed this morning :( Yesterday's neck ache has morphed into today's headache and I feel like cr@p and devoid of any appetite so maybe its just as well. Hope its just a blip and I'm not coming down with something. Had a lovely walk in the sunshine during my…

Wow @flumi_f how beautiful!

Listening to Sleep Tight by Rachel Abbott on my iPod - OMG so many twists and turns, can't wait to get in my car in the mornings to get to the next chapter!

Hi everyone - FD#1 for me today and hoping for an easy ride. Meeting at what would be my normal lunch spot so will grab a salad and eat it later this avo, no dinner tonight as I have another meeting, in the local pub but diets cokes all the way as I'm driving :) @flumi_f You are stronger than you give yourself credit for…
-
Semi FD for me today as my kids are making me dinner tonight and I didn't want to say no. No breakfast, sticking to green tea this morning, soup for lunch, fruit for snacks and should come in at around 700 cals. Have a great day everyone whatever you are doing! :)

We all have days like that. There are times when I can scarf down a ton of chocolate or crisps or cheese and still never feel satisfied but so long as no-one sees me and/or I don't log it it, in my head it's somehow OK. The important thing is to recognise what's happening and be honest with yourself if not with MFP ;) ,…

Back to normal today after a lovely busy long weekend with the family out & about in the sunshine B) Must have eaten my own bodyweight (though strangely not much chocolate, that's still looking at me from the corner of the living room) and feeling bloated so happily embracing a FD today. Not feeling at all hungry so just…

(\-/) (='.'=) (")-(")o Happy Easter to the best group on MFP!! Hope you all have a good long weekend!

Just stared The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton. It's shaping up to be along the lines of The Girl with the Pearl Earring - same setting (Amsterdam), same era (17th century), same narrative style (young girl thrust into a high society life she doesn't understand) but I quite like it so far. The heroine has a bit of spunk…

Yay 2lbs down this week! :p Double my normal loss and only one "official" FD. But on two of my normal non-FD's I had my main meal at lunchtime then either didn't eat at all in the evening or only had a light snack. Maybe that made the difference because everything else was the same. Hmm with muse upon this while I bask in…

Good morning! Today was supposed to be FD#2 but all the good intentions in the world will not keep me from a colleagues leaving pub lunch do. Probably my last opportunity this week too so will aim for a semi FD today and start again next week. Have a good day folks!

I think he just used a HRM & calorie counter, they didn't say specifically only that he was measuring his activity in calories burned.
