Hey everyone ... joining the thread. I have been a steady MFP'r for years although I took a recent 2 month break. Fortunately I have never taken a break from deciding not to drink anymore since 7/30/94 - 24 years, grateful to all that have helped me on this journey
-
I am in, thanks for the post and the links!

Hey Everyone, reconnecting with MFP after putting a few pounds back on - friend me and lets do this!!

I can stay in ketosis, starting no carbs (adkins in the past) is hard until after I get through day 3. I also intermittent fast while in ketosis. I have taken the Berg survey and, like the majority, fell into the adrenal body type too but I dont pay to much attention to it. There is a lot of research out there that says…

Awesome job, thanks for sharing this!

Its trial and error as everyone is different. Just add in and watch it yourself and make adjustments as you go

I have become a believer. It works for me. I think people's "engines" are different, give it a try. For me it works with low carb/Keto because of how my body reacts to sugar. No sugar, fats because they are satisfiying, leaves me not in hunger, very sustainable. Good luck

I have been doing Keto since the beginning of Aug with decent results, down 30lbs. I am very simple eating Keto (omeletes, grilled meats, salad, sometimes broccoli) and wouldnt mind growing my network of Keto friends for other dietary ideas, although I am not sure how much I will offer. Thanks

I used to have this problem too. From 3-6 I was out of it, then I would be alert later that night. Ironically, when I do low carb, I dont have it. I am doing Keto and intermittant fasting (eat at 1 and 6pm ish), and its working for me. I am not hungry and have no afternoon malaise. I dont miss breakfast at all and I am not…

Heath Miller - a tight end for the Steelers who just retired. I would get asked in stores here in Pittsburgh. I think I definitely look older then he does

That is incredible, thank you so much for posting and for the additional lessons you wrote out.

Diet is 85% of weight loss. Track, improve tracking ;-)

Awesome post ..thank you. I have no problem with disagreeing and appreciate your discourse. You may be right, but I need to give up sugar for 3 days to break out, that doesnt mean others need to. I also mentioned L-glutimin as a potential solution. I am not alone in thinking there is a relationship…

Where did it say I was a counselor? Again, with the mocking Gif, why ridicule? But I know, as my wife, I am not always right :-)

Awesome, I agree the posts should be about helping the OP, per my first post, I offered my experience. I dont think "calling it a drug crap or the addiction" issue started the argument, it was his first sentence "I've been addicted to sugar my whole life" ... that I responded too.
-
With information and education, some people realize they have an issue before it gets to the level that your love one regretfully went through (everyone has their own bottom) . Circling back to a previous comment, if a person feels really bad about themselves, but feel mentally or physically like they cant stop, its an…

I know people scoff at it, and I described in my post, its not as scary as alcohol...for me. I also know in my experience with addiction and addiction recovery, people use comparisons but it doesn't make the situation any better. "I was more of a drunk than you" or "Coke addiction is worse than alcohol addiction" so blah…
-
I have been around the issue for 20+ years, and have done plenty of research. I also know you can research this to conclude opposite sides ... so its which research you choose to believe. I dont think everyone processes everything the same way.

People who have never had addiction problems will never understand. When I quit, my body freaks out until day 3, then I am in the clear. As much as I have tried moderation, it eventually doesnt work. I have shortened my peaks so things dont get out of control with my weight, and then I deal with the 3 day cut off. People,…
