  • Continuing the alternative protein powder questions - any vegan favorites (brands/flavors) that aren't too grainy?
  • I have a FitBit One. I've had a basic pedometer and I definitely prefer the smarter version. You can set to connect wirelessly to your computer (or newer phone) and they create all sorts of charts. It also can monitor your sleep which is pretty neat to see.
  • Congrats, it's wonderful to be doing it in such a healthy way too!
  • I am having breathing issues as I can't seem to draw a deep breathe, and although I carry my inhaler in my purse I never think about taking it into the gym since it's been almost 8 months without any asthma problems. I guess I'm out of habit. I will start to bring it now that my asthma is acting up and use about 20 minutes…
  • I'm so glad to see this, I have to eat so low to lose. The good news is I have a wider range to stay in maintenance but if I want to lose I can't be over 1250 and 1200 is better. I was not a healthy eater until last summer, but no one ever told me that being hypothyroid can decrease your metabolism. I've always thought I…
  • I focus more on staying under my calorie goal than what I'm eating. I really have to focus to make sure I get enough protein but I let the other macros fall as they may. A few months ago I tried to focus on low carb and it just led to binging on carbs or not eating because I couldn't figure out what to eat. Once I stopped…
  • I buy mine in the organic section at Fred Meyer, but most grocery stores should carry them. Typically they're in the more organic/natural sections, and store staff don't always know where to find them without calling produce or health personnel. I love to add them to oatmeal, they help fill me up and don't add a strange…
  • I'd love to join in. I've been on this journey for about 7 months, but got engaged in November and really need to get into gear. I'd ultimately like to lose at least 60lbs more, but at least 40 before the wedding. It should be doable, but I let life get in the way of my focus on health so I'm getting back on track.
  • I often crave chocolate. I used to eat candy bars or whatever I had available to make the feeling and hunger go away. I recently realized how few calories (by comparison) are in chocolate chips. Now when I'm really craving chocolate I grab a handful and I don't even feel guilty over the 80 calories.
  • Wait, there's a medication that can help with the hair loss on the head? Seriously?
  • I have PCOS, just sent you a friend request. It's harder to lose so it's great to have friends who know what it's like. The group previously posted is a good resource, definitely check it out.
in PCOS? Comment by livcurious January 2014
  • It's really a December weight gain, with all the Christmas parties, etc. I gained about 6lbs, but that high weight must have included a lot of water because I'm already down 2+.
  • Oh my gosh. I have the belly and never realized it was part of PCOS. I'm going to pay more attention to where I lose weight and take measurements now. My pants have never fit right because of my waist, it's so nice to know there's a reason. I may have to try cutting back carbs even more now that I've read this.
  • Thanks, will do!
  • Yes, I typically log when I'm at work so I occasionally forget to go back and fill in dinner (or more) for the previous day. Weekdays are pretty similar as to what dinner involves, there's more variation on weekends.

  • Hi, have you had a chance to review? Small update, now 213 lbs and 41.2% BF.
  • You are doing an amazing job getting yourself out there to exercise. I'm disgusted by how those girls acted toward you - it's a shame bullying is so prevalent in today's society - especially when you are obviously working out and therefore trying to improve your health. I'm glad you won't let them get you down and you kept…
  • baconboobies - I'm the same! For the last few months I noticed I start losing as soon as I start my TOM. I don't understand it as I thought you gain in the beginning and then drop the water weight at the end.
  • Oh, and I tried calculating my macros Thursday and adjusting the settings, so up until then they were defaulted to MFP numbers (55% carbs, 15% protein, 35% fat). When I realized the protein was set so low that's when I got concerned and started messing with the settings.
  • I just made my diary public. I started logging 7/7 but wasn't very accurate or consistent until 9/3 (although there are still some spotty days). This week isn't a great example as I went crazy with donuts during TOM. What I try to eat is more like 9/25.
  • My gym launced a barre class last night. It was hard but awesome. I'm excited to do more than cardio.
  • I'm Olivia, just turned 25 and I'm starting grad school in 3 weeks. I work full time and have a very part time job so I work 40-55 hours a week. I find my job very stressful and I'm a complete stress/boredom eater. I'm seeing a nutritionist and working on getting my eating habits under control. I also am hypothyroid and…
  • I just got one for my birthday last weekend! I'm so excited to track my steps, but I still need to adjust the stride as I'm short and it's overdoing the steps for me.
  • I'm 24 and want to lose 100lbs. I started eating cleaner and seeing a nutritionist who helped me realize how much and why I was eating poorly. I've since cut out most of the junk food and started working out more. So far in three months I'm down 15lbs but there's still a lot to go. I'm hoping to lose ~2lbs a week to keep a…
